Learn what? I'll spawn a class which ever one is appropriate for the situation. Need frontal assault, HA. Need that higher elevation advantage, I spawn LA. Need to engage at longer range dead lock, spawn a infiltrator. Want to heal, revive have a accurate assault rifle and go for XP, spawn a medic. Play vehicles, spawn a engineer. Feel like you could make a difference in clearing that room, spawn a MAX. What class do you play?

Yeah walking around with a 100+round lmg(50 for vs), with a rocket launcher, pressing F every time you need to win then chugging medkits if anything goes wrong on top of being able to throw grenades that remove your ability to control you character. And don't even get me started on all the ******* av nade spam we just had to sit through, IS NOT playing the same game as me. There is no ******* downside to this class at all. None. People want to cry about maxes? At least they had to pay for that max.

Do you know why we have classes in ps2 and things aren't like they were in ps1? Because they "didn't want super soldiers running around." You don't get much more ******* super soldier than HA. There's a reason it's the most played highest scoring class and it's not because it's fair and balanced. It's because it takes a huge ***** on everything with one loadout. At least the rest of us have to pick and choose loadout and actually worry about things. HA nerfs have been in the works forever now and nothing ever happens because all the ******* people cheesing them don't want their BS taken away and throw a huge whinefit. Either HA's stop getting the same amount of XP as the other classes since they require none of the work or skill or they should be ******* put on the same level as everyone else. I'd also be happy with a class that's designed to **** on HA's the way they do everything else.

Ok you're really angry, so I'm done talking to you. All I can say is don't let a game make you this mad. Bye.

Edit: Alright, I will also say that you choosing to limit yourself in how you play does not put you in a position to deem those that don't as being lesser. That's something most here don't understand. I don't have to play by your rules, or play the same game as you. Get over it.
  4. Outreach

Yup, I'll get over it right after HA's get nerfed. And cya, try not hurt your finger outskilling everyone when you hit F.
  5. Bobman23

    Lol, I don't play heavy. :p

Hope you got plenty of money from that video, from SOE's forcefeeding.

    This.

I personally don't want to play another death match game I am so sick of them. I only keep playing PS2 because I am waiting for the meta, like so many others.

I never thought it was so hard to put 5 more bullets into your target.

    Why doesn't the game?
And more importantly... Why don't you, instead of complaining about everything that can kill infantry, learn to use the easily available counters to those things. When fighting in close quarters, use an auto shotgun or a pump action. The HA will die before the "I Win" shield is activated.
  12. Iridar51

    1. HA have access to shotguns as well.
    2. I don't expect someone like you to know that, so I'll explain. Shotguns are actually pretty terrible weapons, and they are only good when you're 2-5m away from the enemy, which is rarely a good place to be. I may dive in, kill one HA, then get mowed down by something as weak as an infiltrator with a beamer from 15m away.
    3. Generally, I'm fine with fighting cheese with cheese, e.g. killing tanks and MAXes with C4. But in case with shotguns, using that cheese would mean I can't use any other weapon.

I can use cheesy C4 against targets that require cheese, and I can use conventional weapons in normal gunplay. But if I use a shotgun to mow down HA, I can't pull a carbine out of nowhere to fight with enemies who actually want a challenge and don't play that OP class.

I call OP on medic. They revive the guys I just killed! :(

I call OP on engineers. They give ammo to the guys trying to kill me. They even repair those dang tanks that kills so fast!

I call OP on Infiltrators! They can OHK safely from afar! Moreover, they can get invisible to back-stab me!

I call OP on Light Assaults! They can fly and get to places I can't normally go and attack me from unexpected angles!

I call OP on MAXes! They got two guns. They are even tougher than infantry!

I call OP on tanks! I can't harm them with my pistols! Commissar UP, plz buff.

I call OP on Forumside! They b**** and w**** about 5 bullets.

I call OP on trolls! They bait and annoy people!

I call OP on youtube. Selective montages is too subjective!

If they're playing like that, they'll be acquainted with the business end of my BASR in 3... 2... 1...

No chance to flip on the shield if you're dead before you know a shot was fired.

Lets get the real heavy shield numbers out. For Nanite Mesh Generator (Heavies Ability slot, not to be confused with Nanoweave which is suite slot for all classes (for the scrubs who still confuse this)), and Adrenaline their max fuel is 650 not 700 as the Original posted stated. Both of these shields loses 43 fuel once the shield is activated so at best the shield has a max protection value of 607 points worth of damage. The shield then loses 43 fuel per second while its active, in addition to any damage the player takes. These two shields will take the same damage modifiers as you would if the shield wasn't active. (Meaning 0.9x for limb hits, and your weapons Head shot modifier for head hits, and body is 1x) Both Nanoweave and Flaks damage reduction also applies to these shield as well.

Now for Resist shield, this shield reduces all incoming damage by 45% regardless of damage type. This shield will override any resistance value in the suite slot that is less then it, in short IT DOESN'T STACK WITH NANOWEAVE OF FLAK!

Infiltrators with emp grenades will remove a Heavies overshield but only if the emp goes off while the shield is active.

They never cared so far and I doubt they ever will.
  18. Verviedi

True, but they do let SOE's buzzwords and triggers into their minds, so they can probably comprehend fact.

I think someone did a calculation when these "nerf heavy cuz im bad" posts came out. Basically the heavy shield can't be nerfed in the aspects of delayed activation or weaker protection because the medic heal maxed out would basically be better than all heavy shields. As it is now medics have a great ability because they can have their gun out while heavies must chug medkits. Nerfing heavy overshield would not only destroy the mostly-heavy playerbase, but only contribute more to nerf mentality once a whole CLASS is completely made useless.

I like the people who defend the HA shield because HA is for 'assault'.

Let's talk about 'real life' for a second. Particularly the war in Afghanistan. There's two kinds of flying missions in Afghanistan - planned and unplanned.

If you PLAN an assault on a place, and you PLAN for air support, it allows you to bring in certain aircraft, like AC-130s and A-10s. They're extremely effective against ground targets, but the trick is, you need to PLAN AHEAD OF TIME TO USE THEM. Because they're outrageously slow, there's a limited number of them, and they have limitations in terms of sensors and pilot capabilities.

Now, if you need UNPLANNED air support, you're probably on the defense. This is when your FOB is being attacked and your JTAC gets on the horn and shouts for air support. You know what aircraft you don't get? A-10s and AC-130s, because they're too ******* slow to get there in time. What you typically get then are F-16s and F-15Es. While they're effective, they aren't quite as devastating as an A-10 or an AC-130 could be.

So the point I'm making here is that if you added a 'charge up' timer on the HA shield, it would have absolutely no impact on the ability of the HA to ASSAULT targets, because he would be able to PLAN TO USE IT. Flip it on BEFORE he runs into the room and wipes the walls with bad dudes.

However, without the chargeup timer, it means that the shield is exceptionally useful in a DEFENSIVE role. I believe the class is called Heavy ASSAULT, not Heavy DEFENSE.

So logically, a shield charge-up timer of 1 second would have zero impact on the HA's ability to act offensively, because any HA who is doing so would turn his shield on BEFORE he needed it, not AFTER.
