Heat mechanics for Vanu weapons?!?!?1

Buff means that they have to give it a nerf in another category. I have nightmares about what is going to happen.
  2. a-koo-chee-moya

Every faction already has infinite ammo as long as there is one engineer/Sunderer/Terminal.
  3. vanu123

I really want this heat/charge mechanic to work well, although I won't get my hopes up because every other weapon we have had with that mechanic has just been garbage.

Their track record on heat/charge up weapons is horrible, we have a right to be skeptical.

Yeah 20 shots in your carbine.. Good luck MR Light Assault when faced with 2 decent opponents or HA's or worse.

All the other gimmicks are awful, nice ideas in theory granted but it cannot really be balanced or have been Implemented well. It would be just as bad for me to have an advantage as is to be disadvantaged.. Balance is easiest if we all use ammo.

Also the Orion should have 75 rounds ;)

Reduced firing time is the way this is going to be balanced. It makes sense, since we don't have the firepower of the other factions, but we can make up for it:)
  7. DatVanuMan

Since they are dramatically reducing firing time, they will buff something else about us, like accuracy, ADS speed, or recoil. Who knows?
  8. DatVanuMan

The Phaseshift is awesome, the Lancer is near-perfect, and that is all you need to know. The Spiker was a simple genetic mutation, ignore it. Pretend it NEVER existed... OH SNAP, THERE IT IS!
    *Turns head around*
    PAPA! What's shaking?

    I love this guy:rolleyes:
  9. DatVanuMan

Well now, there is theoretically and practically NO reason to be around one;)

Leave it to VS to complain about something before even trying it. You can kill about 2-3 infantry and you don't even have to reload no more. Wtf is the ******** about? I do not recall them adding the heating mechanic to all the VS weapons and only to some "FREE" auraxiam weapons?

Edit- nvm saw that they are adding heat mechanic to the LMG which is a bad idea unless it let you shoot about 50+ bullet then it ok.
  11. vanu123

Honestly, IMO, the Ghost/parallax are both better than the phaseshift. Lancer is only good if you have 12+ people coordinating, and yes that guy is awesome.
  12. vanu123

You can kill 8+ enemies minimum w/o reloading with 150 rounds. The heat mechanic is garbage on a lot of VS weapons.
  13. DatVanuMan

    1. NOPE. No bullet drop is better than having none.
    2. Simply wait for a Lightning to retreat from afar, charge that sucker to tier three, AND KABOOM! You just made some XP, son:D
    3. Indeed. Still waiting for that good pistol he promised us:(
  14. gigastar

If the heating mechanic lets us keep the standard magazine size then we might think twice about it.

If its going to be like the Phaseshift where it has a pitiful magazine size, then we have a problem. And you can be sure we arent going to shut up about it.

What do you mean by reducing refire time?

Sure, we'll stop complaining once all your auraxium weapons get insanely reworked and they plan on reworking your normal weapons too.
  16. Yeahy

No bullet drop is better than having none? Don't you mean having some? Anyways, there has already been a thread posted on why no bullet drop does not matter.

Why can't you do the same thing with the pheonix? Or even the striker since it locks up untill 400 meters. You really need a sensitivity clutch and good aim to sniper with the lancer, espeically at lightnings. Only if they lancer had scopes....

Not having fire power=longer ttk/less damage per bullet/less rpm/more recoil
longer ttk/less damage per bullet/less rpm/more recoil=more skill to use. If you're good you MIGHT be able to do better than other faction weps.

We aren't talking about 150 mag? did they add the heat mechanic to the auraxiam LMG? im talking about specifically for carbine and AR. If they are adding the heat mechanic to the LMG auraxiam one then that my fault for not seeing that but if they aren't what is there to complain about?
  18. a-koo-chee-moya

Let's check things off. First, SOE posts that they might implement heat mechanic for VS in the future. Next, that mechanic is implemented on some of VSs weapons. It certainly looks like SOE is sliding into a revamp of all VS weapons.

Almost all Automatic weapons can kill 2-3 infantry, if all bullets hit.
Sure, we won't have to press "r", but we will still have to wait for cooldown.
Almost surely, these "buffs" will come with some tradeoffs, as SOE would never just straight buff a faction. The "magazine size" will surely be smaller and the cool down longer than a normal reload will be. All this for infinite ammo that can already be supplied for engineer and being able to fire while reloading, which will only be useful after the heat is only "half" as any sooner and you will overheat before you can kill.

They are adding heat mechanic for the LMG.
    • Betelgeuse 54-A (VS LMG directive reward)
      • Removed barrel attachment
        • Min/max horizontal recoil increased from 0.17/0.19125 to 0.2/0.225
        • Horizontal recoil tolerance increased from 0.85 to 0.9
        • Hip cone of fire bloom per shot reduced from 0.12 to 0.1
        • Aimed cone of fire bloom per shot reduced from 0.06 to 0.05
      • Added Soft Point Ammunition
        • This is going Live with the August update but was unintentional; it will be removed in a hotfix
      • Added heat mechanic
Proof that I didn't just type this myself: https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/update-notes-8-28-august-update.199055/

He's saying that a 150 mag doesn't count on a heat weapon as only vs ones are getting heat mechanics.
