HE goes though Spawn shields again?

    Last night I spawned into Quartz Ridge with 4+ min on the Cap. Spawn room was being hit by HE shells there was nowhere in the room they couldn't hit you, even destroyed both terms, noticed the same at Vanu archives. Absolutely no chance to push out and re-secure if you taking HE shell hits the second you step out the spawn.

    Is this an intended change or a bug?

    But It just replaces them with a scrub sitting far away on a hill spamming HE at a spawn building.

    Last night I tried the tactic of using the /yell channel to alert the enemy that HE splash is a known bug/exploit and they will be reported.

    Funny, the tanks backed off.

    The attacking enemy infantry then were able to walk up to the spawn room and engage.
    It seemed that the enemy infantry were as frustrated with the tank HE as those inside the spawn room.

    I play to fight, not sit behind a shield. I think attacking infantry have the same motivation. It's a shame that vehicles remove that core element. The game requires players to be on foot, unstealthed to capture a point. Yet the game rewards vehicles which can't capture anything.

    But the scrub on the hill is not invincible like spawn room cowards. THAT is the difference.

    If the enemy is able to bombard the spawn you've lost, anyway and should move somewhere else start a counterattack. So, at least in my opinion, it's not that bad.
    I didn't notice this, though. I some saw grenades, C4, mines and random explosions in front of the shield without damaging me, so it's propably a render bug again.

    Glad to see some honest objectivity here. So many ppl whine 'oh my glob nerds just standing behind shields! TK them all! shoot them in the face IRL! '

    They are only doing it because there's just as many nerds standing right outside the spawn room waiting to get mowed down. If there was nobody to shoot at they wouldn't do it.

    I mean I honestly can't belive some of the morons who stand outside of cover near a spawn room. Vehicles do it too but at least they are a little more durable. Not talking about the clever campers who may peek around cover now and then and just mow down dudes as they pass. I'm talking about idiots standing right out in the open or running really close by spawn room doors without cover. Get a clue ppl

    They're usually doing it because there are even more nerds standing right outside the spawn room.

    Its probably one of those 'stealth' patches by SOE to 'punish' those who stay in the spawn room (not that 'stay' is accurate, more like 'forced by design').
    If you understand that SOE employees are the spawn-camping type, then you'll understand why this is happening.

    once again SOE was fixing bugs. Rejoice, grenade launchers don't do this anymore! (maybe)

    Just to clarify this for me this has nothing to do with camping behind spawn shields, I spawned at the base to try and save it.

    Problem I have, is at a base with outside spawn rooms, a few tanks on the surrounding hills can completely camp the spawn before the first infantry has even reached the base. I had absolutely no chance to exit the spawn and push the points, I was getting hit as soon as I spawned. Guess its just a bug and we wait till it gets fixed.

    Yeah, that guy in the tank 200m away shelling the spawn room is taking a pretty big risk! :rolleyes:

    I think this is the best thing to do, so that one gives no entertainment to the attacker, keeps their blood pressure low, their KDR intact, no free XP (especially menace XP) rewarding them for spawn camping, etc.

    Until SOE eliminates spawns, or makes the spawn/cap point merged and automatically flips in that situation.
