Have you ever run into a Striker Valkrie?

I did earlier. I was flying in my Scythe, saw a Valkrie and what is usually some free certs. Two seconds later I'm BTFO and wondering what happened. I realized that the Valkrie had Striker heavies in the seats on the kill screen.

Not complaining or anything! Just noting this little bit of clever absurdity.

Hell, people were bound to find some way to make a valkyrie useful.

I tried doing the same with the phoenix and ended up TKing myself

I'd have to get people into the thing first.

I dont see any valks at all.

This is why the Striker must be nerfed. To compensate, increase Beamer's damage by 13. Only then will I be satisfied.

I've been part of a Striker Valk.

It is just about the only known fun thing to do with the Valk.

My only use for the Valkyrie is still filling it with people with firework guns, then trying to blind the enemy with fabulous-ness.

The Valk has proved extremely useful for hunting pumpkins. Other than that... Yeah.

Valk needs to be 150 rez, and redeployside needs to be removed, so everyone can use it as a fast, cheap transport.

In small fights when you have air control, you can also fill it with Lasher heavies / engies and fly circles around a battle laying down suppressive fire on enemy infantry.

And if they would fix the Phoenix, then NC could fly it around and hunt down tanks easily with phoenix valks, that way all three empires get to do something with it.

Everyone complains non-stop about C4 fairies. But when you get a vehicle almost designed to bring fairies everywhere people say "I have no idea what you can use it for".

Here's what you do: Get some LA with drifters. Fly around till you spot some tanks, there's usually a few helping some attack. Don't fly right over, tanks immediately know somethings up when you do that. Fly at a medium distance. LA jump out, drift to tanks, tanks are destroyed. LA redeploy/get killed/go on a killing spree by backstabbing and return to the Valk. Next target!
If you do this with 5 LA they have enough resources combined to destroy half a Zerg.
When you run out of C4, get Heavies with a good AV rocket. Fly around the enemy and drop them behind. 3-4 good shots in the back is enough to instakill just about any tank. With 3-4 people firing at once you stand a good chance killing several tanks, then you still have 3-4 Heavies attacking the back of the enemy, kills galore!
Why can't you do this with a Gal? You can, but everyone sees the gal and knows there's a drop somewhere they are looking for.

Considering the TR don't have anything else good, it's only fair that they have a way to make the most horrible vehicle in the game... still pretty horrible but fun?

i have never seen any of these marvelous striker valks around , ive tried to be apart of one but i barely ever get to ride in valks to begin with , people usually fly em horribly and dont survive long enough to be useful

Pilot / passenger latency causes Phoenix missile to hit the Valkyrie. If pilot disconnects for a second the problem is circumvented.
Here is how it goes:

1. Pilot unplugs DSL cable from his PC
2. Valkyrie comes to complete halt
3. Everyone fires Phoenix missiles
4. Pilot plugs DSL cable back in
5. Valkyrie teleports to safety

I rolled a TR just to run a striker valk, I can already out circle strafe and gun down dumb ESF pilots as an NC, with one gunner. Can't imagine how much more dangerous it's gonna be with strikers, it's gonna be fun, nearly finished certing out my TR valk. It's the last thing on my to do list.

1) Squash players with glorious valkyrie snu snu
2) Squash landed ESFs with glorious valkyrie snu snu
3) Squash Flak MAX with glorious valkyrie snu snu
4) Sweep bio lab airpads with glorious valkyrie sliding
5) Sundy bust with tank mining engineers and c4 heavies
6) Striker Valkyrie

7) Lasher squad Valkyrie
8) Phoenix squad Valkyrie (need to hover before shooting ...)
9) godsaw squad for wall of bullets
10) MCG squad for wall of bullets

Nerf striker!

But seriously good vid, I guess I could agree that phoenix, if it wasn't bugged, wouldn't be a bad option against ground targets
