*hop down to 1. if you want to avoid the introduction* Beta is Beta! Uhm... ok we can't say that anymore. I hope that the executive(s) who forced the Planetside 2 devteam to release in a state that many of us feel is too early enjoy their caviar stuffed turkey today or whatever the mega-rich eat today. =) I believe that Planetside 2 can easily overcome this and can possibly become SOE's most profitable venture and make boatloads of money. We WANT you to profit--and we trust you will take care of your golden goose Planetside 2 by pouring plenty of cash back into further development. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and ESPECIALLY to the people who REALLY make things happen -- the devteam. I'll occasionally be starting a new thread and I will attempt to focus on the biggest issues in Planetside 2 that I hope the developers will work on. These issues I believe are not just my pet projects, these are things that I deeply believe will help many players have a better Planetside 2 experience. This first 'volume' will be brief, and I really hope the developers read this and that other players offer constructive responses to this post, and it will help me in future posts. 1. Please fix the 'pop up' soldiers in big fights. My best guess is that this is some sort of dynamic thing that kicks in during large fights so things don't grind to a halt. I'm really hoping that there is a solution, because this takes away from big fights when you don't see the mass of soldiers until you are practically on top of them. 2. Please increase time-to-death. I want gunfights to feel more like a science fiction movie-style gunfight instead of a western movie style gunfight. (I don't like the fact that whoever gets the drop on the other person first has a very high chance of winning the fight and you often times can't respond (or even evade) and have a short, but fun, duel in those few moments). 3. Please increase the maximum Field of View slider. I feel like I am playing in tunnel vision. 4. Please give us more information on marketplace items, such as more complete stats on weapons, and also please clearly label what items in the marketplace are just cosmetic. Also please let us preview what things like the camo will look like on us and our vehicles before purchasing them. Thank you developers and other players for your time and feedback, this concludes "Hamster's requests to the developers Volume 1." (and can someone please help me come up with a better name for these posts? TIME FOR MORE PIE YEEEEEEHAW =)
as somebody totally new to this game i have noticed all of that as well but there is also one glairing thing i'd like to add that has made me shut the game off. Since this is a scify shooter you should beable to see the differance from friend and foe. Your wearing a helmet and i'm sure it is easily justified that it would have a hud in it so it would fit that all friendly targets would have a transponder saying good guy don't shoot me . However the bad guys wouldn't have that and your hud would highlight them. Atm ff is happening constantly because of this issue and it seems like a beginer mistake to make from a dev house like this one. I know that there is those almost triangles over their heads.... They arn't always there or that visible. putting a simple red outline glow on bad guys would fix it instantly and would stay within the realm of the game.
Agree with everything you said. ------------------------------- Too lazy to make my own thread so adding things I'd like to see after the bug squashing phase is complete: 1) Allow MANA turrets to be built on reasonable sloped areas. 2) Add more useful in game notifications: - Something to alert you that a medic is currently trying to revive you or that a friendly medic is nearby after you die. - Something to alert you about how many drops you have out (mines) and add them on your own minimap. Impossible to know how many you have on the ground at any one time. - Timer for ammo kit drop time remaining before it disappears - You get the idea 3) Add those map filters to the deployment screen. Toggling between "Territory Ownership" and "Enemy Presence" modes are invaluable, but these options do not exist on the deployment screen. Either have to deploy to a spot and hope its not infested with enemies or constantly switch back-n-forth from the map/deployment and toggle each time. Better yet make the Enemy Presence filter instead of an entirely different color map simply make it an additional overlay icon that shows up on the hexes so both "Territory Ownership" and "Enemy Presence" information can be displayable at the same time. 4) Something to prevent aircraft from being rolled while inside the warpgate. You know the type. Someone buys a liberator, waits for friends to jump in, and then a fat friendly galaxy rolls their ship *KABOOM*
Not sure I'd want a red glow on the enemy... kinda takes the fun out of finding the baddies. If one is sneaking through the brush at night he should be hard to find. If you do find one you could always press 'Q" to spot him... then his name tag and triangle will show up for you and all your teammates. Though I too wonder why sometimes the friendly triangle doesn't show up. Is that a bug? Even with a friendly aircraft only medium range from me it doesn't always show and I'll have to fire a couple of shots just to check.
