Why is the Halberd the Jack of All Trades? It does AV really well, AI really well, and it can do AA better than every other non-AA top-gun if you can get the angle.
It does OHK Infantry, and you don't need to outdamage an Engineer if you have the speed, health, and damage to just kill the Engineer...
At least your faction's Harasser guns have other situational uses. The Saron is essentially a weaker Halberd, that draws more attention due to its lighting/noise. Almost pointless to use Saron, anywhere other than Esamir ice lake near Elli bridge. I'd rather have a Vulcan or Mjolnir or anything else. Also Gatekeeper prowler kills magriders faster, than a Halberd prowler. I really wish for new Harasser guns overall, you can only play the Bulldog, Fury, or Halberd so much.
It's decent but not OP. Most people take it to 1hko infantry who don't have flak armour, since they are usaully the most annoying threats. The slightly lower AV damage is worth the trade off.
It's fairly balanced and isn't too easy to use. Don't make threads just because you died to a weapon.
It is one of the most effective Harasser top guns, and its not hard to use at all. Point, click. When I use it and need to lead a vehicle target, I just guess and I can hit them pretty easily. Legit, if I wanted to make a thread about something I died to a lot, this would be about the Vulcan or Banshee. Those things destroy everything fast and well, probably other than air.
Aphelion, is good. Is it good enough? Idk. perhaps 15% less bloom. Saron's only situation use over Halberd is that its slightly better at AI since its dps is split by ammo (for the average shooter, you find to gun). Yet that makes it worst for AV slightly, than Halberd is (for mid range). I may make low lvl harasser alts, not enough people play with the nc shotgun ai gun or tr gatekeeper. I favor: Bulldog for Hossin Halberd for Indar Saron for Esamir Kobalt for Amerish Fury for Oshur
Then there's me, thinking all secondary weapons should get their own traversal times to further differentiate them and balance out a few things, like how the no delay on moving them around is a huge part of why they are so good against infantry and vehicles like Flashes and Javelins that rely on evasion since they pop with a single Halberd hit. If anyone is wondering what I mean by traversal time I just mean they should act like tank main turrets, takes time to turn them around.
Ye well, with asp & outfit discount, flashes are like 25 nanites. However, I do agree that javelins, perhaps shouldn't die to 1 Halberd hit. Makes Javelins seem like paper. When they cost x3 more than a flash & yet die at the same rate. Then again, sometimes a enemy javelin is doing laps around you, so idk.
