GU011: Weapon and Vehicle Changes

    Wow. This is like a list of suggestions that I have made on various threads on PSU and PS2 Forums. I've been asking for higher vehicle costs from the beginning (to prevent tank spamming), suggested no-deploy zones to make defending some locations easier (possible would be another word), asked for the Skyguard to be Buffed and the Burster nerfed, and have always supported more shotgun nerfs.

    yeah but the lattice renders all of that mute..... I can "want" to go to some given area but it's not going to work being some magic link basically says "no".

    The new resource costs are a horrible, horrible idea that panders to the people running boosts and rewards larger population numbers (easy to hold more ground) so they always have resources pouring in.. being it's really no longer about the f2p player dropping certs into his 'timer" it's more about if you paid SC to get a membership level that keep your resources roaring in, to keep your tank or whatever rolling.

    I don't even use gear that much and I think this sucks.. BR67 or so now and the only gear I have any certs really into is my flash and then the Harasser and I still think the new costs are very repressive to the very idea of combined arms in game.. Already have a HUGE problem with people not pushing forward and "risking" gear, this will just make the hanging back and shell, shell, shelling that much worse.

    never mind that when facing say 22% world pop for my faction and pushed back on both sides to near my warp gate I'm getting near zero resources anyways.. Hey you know what is REALLY NOT fun in game??! NOT being able to pull gear, NOT being able to do much of anything AND facing x2 odds.. Great..

    for months and months people have been asking for them to try to do something to address the population imbalance issues and and reasons people team jump. They do nothing and then jack up the cost of gear so that if you're not already on the side with the 45% pop + lots of territory pulling lots of resources you pretty much are guaranteed to keep getting rolled EVEN harder by all the gear they can keep affording to buy..

    I could see a slight boost to gear cost and maxs where too cheap at 100 but this went way overboard..

    F... no. SGs don't need nerfing. SG are supposed to own in cqc because they suck beyond that. This blows man. Why couldn't you just nerf the cries of weak players who think their rifles should win at all ranges.

    Good, I like the JH. It did need some love.

    My Infiltrator loves his smg. He will be very sad to learn this. So will my engi. He loves his smoke launcher. I'm sure he will manage better than my Inf, though.
    Mmmm... ok. I guess this is fair. Glad to know that I can finally bother to cert up my Skyquard.
    THIS is how it should have been. I hated how using UBs changed my hotkeys.

    the thought of going back to using useless broken 2x, 3.4x and 4x scopes makes me sick to my stomach. inaccurate as hell, artificial recoil from recoil magnification *zoom is in 4 times as much, so gun jumps 4 times as much* and overall just useless.

    From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you for stomping on everything and nerfing everything in this game when kids cry that it's OP enough. Nothing is sacred anymore

    I'm really happy about the underbarrel change and AMS no-deploy zones sound like a good idea as well.

    I'm a big IRNV user, but I actually like the nerf for the scope. It seems reasonable enough. The screen power-up delay makes sense in-universe and I'd say is a reasonable trade-off for the ability. The slight scope sway as well won't affect normal operational range, but will help mitigate kills at long ranges you're not supposed to make enemies out at but can still sorta see the silhouettes, so that's another fair nerf. With the nerf, does that mean we'll at least be able to see the slight cloak fields of infiltrators again, though? GU10 proved it's possible in-engine, even if you guys patched it back out the next day.

    People whining about the Harasser cost specifically - it's currently the same cost as the Lightning, and under the proposed price changes it still will be. Sorry, but you don't get to be cheaper than a Lightning. The Harasser isn't exactly weak... and you can rotate resource costs with your gunner, unlike a Lightning duo.

    Not sure what the complaints are about the Lasher. Anyone that thinks the friendly fire splash decrease is dumbing down the game has never used the Lasher for any length of time. Remember, it replaces the LMG - it's the primary. Anyone that's used it can tell you that most of your deaths will have you doing a sizeable portion of the total damage to yourself. Half the people flipping out seem to think it's a nerf to splash against enemies, which isn't what I read at all. I only saw a buff to the effectiveness against enemies. It's an awkward weapon to use with a learning curve, so maybe we'll get more people trying to get decent with it if using it doesn't put you at quite such a disadvantage when you come face to face with an enemy.

    Well these changes basically mean I'll be cancelling my premium membership and no longer plan to buy or use any station cash on this game.

    Resource changes I get. It makes them worth something and not just a hassle. It makes pulling that Lightning with your last 400 Resources after losing your MBT or saving them up for your MBT timer an actual choice. I like it.

    ZOE VS MAX is ridiculous currently. Lockdown = DISABLED movement. Aegis Shield = DISABLED weapon fire. ZOE = Full Control and Full Benefit for (as many videos show) minimal damage increase. This decision to leave it without some sort of limiting factor (such as a timer or disabling feature) is a bad one. They are literally ruining this game and making it entirely unfun to play this game and I have barely logged in since it's implementation as a direct result.

    INRV change no one wants. I use it simply because of how dark Nights are more than anything else but eventually just got used to it and end up using it for everything else that isn't long range outdoor combat during the day. Instead now I get to play the game with my Brightness cranked up so I can see VS during the night. Oh wait, we're adding Black/Grey camo for everyone so everyone suffers! Stupid.

    Oh yay, we have a Chaingun that fires instantly but still fires slower than a basic Medic weapon (TRV) how wonderful! Do you people even look at the other weapons you designed and maybe do something crazy like compare them to see where these weapons you change fit in the grand scheme of a faction's weapons?

    Sheer and total incompetence. You simply don't deserve my money.

    one-hundred-and-friggin-fifty vehicle resources, for a MERE flash. did the Devs fall on their heads?
    simple solution to prevent OP flashes from being spawned by 1 person for an entire platoon: make the resource cost increase when the amount of certs pumped in them is bigger

    The MAX and vehicle cost increase are going to make suicide runs much less viable.

    Also, tank zergs into bases unsupported by infantry? Hilarious impact on that factions ability to roll out tanks afterwards.

    The 2 things I do not agree with are the Vulcan spin up and IRNV changes. The latter especially, since I will have to see the Vulcan in action before commenting. If SOE wants to force us to use FlashLights they should make it worth while. In BF3 you could at least blind people with those and with Laser, had a bit of a shock effect when you cleared a tight space where every single person was facing at the only entry point(Then again after a while you knew just where to aim). How about giving us Thermal for weapons? How about no added sway? Activation taking a while is reasonable, I'll give you that. Also Infiltrators have no use for IRNV, so as one, I'd like SOE to explain how exactly was it OPed?

    Oh well, I suspect we'll have IRNV and Thermal Implants coming which will be better than the weapons' versions.

    all optics are basicly a side grade now.

    Its just a change i don't get. in fact the whole optics system i dont get. Why do they want all the optics, from reddot to 4x to IRNV to be more bouncy and harder to aim with than iron sites?

    what about this is MLG?... i just dont get it.

    I love how they increase the resource cost for armor.

    Yet another example of how they're phasing armor out slowly but surely. With the coming changes to Esamir there will be no point to buying armor.

    Especially when you're TR and you have to stop and deploy to be competitive, so you're an easier target to hit/C4/mine/lancer/phoenix/ESF/etc...

    Yeah why not just make a fixed 20 minute timer on all vehicles. I wonder how the reduced Burster range, the large MBT cost and the low ESF cost will play out.

    This will be a clusterf*ck...
    Resource cost should be adjusted, but not like this. Gate locked factions will be screwd ALL THE TIME....
    Reasource should be adjusted by cont population, so if we have lower pop our stuff would be much cheaper., or we get a resource boost.
    +1 for the IRNV, and -1 for not removing it.
    (Seriously 150 for the flash...400 for the harasser?....*facepalm* )
