Some thoughts to lower the annoyance factor of teamkillers, griefers, etc. 1. If you drop C4 or a mine in a spawn room or teleporter room, It has no effect other than killing the person who tried it and weapons locking them for two minutes. 2. If you kill someone in a spawn room or teleporter room, it instantly puts your weapons lock status to 'final warning'. 3. If you teamkill the same person twice, you are instantly weapons locked, and the duration is double, and you cannot play on that continent for 30minutes. 4. If the target of a teamkill is teamkilled by another player of the same outfit, that person is instantly weapons locked (basically track and punish groups of people who teamkill a player). I'm sure there are some flaws here, but the general idea of 'how can we accerate obvious purposeful teamkills I'd like to see addressed.
I posted a similar thread today, but it was specifically about faction-changing to sabotage. I think as OP laid it out there are too many possibilities of accidental lockouts, or even reverse-griefing by purposefully standing in line of fire.
These sound like good ideas, I hope they are technically feasible from a software point of view. Also point 1 to cover throwing grenades in the spawn room? Every day I play I have to report at least one team killer in a spawn room and I am just not convinced that these things get investigated as there just isn't enough evidence to track down and review every event. Some kind of automated banning functions seems to be the only answer. But the problem extends beyond the spawn room and that is a more difficult proposition as accidental friendly fire incidents are common in the heat of battle. Only today some no-lifer from my own faction actually followed me around a courtyard trying to shoot me. But there was a battle going on around the corner of the wall so the report will just show one guy shot another guy in the middle of a battle.......... The only thing I do is log out when I hear his voice - this particular little *** wipe yells away on microphone while he is doing his sad thing.
Baphoma I'm assuming you are just trolling here, you can't be that stupid. 'if you get teamkilled its your own fault'. I'll teamkill you three times tonight if you want to show you how, if I decide I want to kill you, I can over and over, and the game doesn't do a good job of stopping it.
everybody hates team killers but on occasion throwing a brick of C4 in the spawn can be really funny or my favorite a sticky nade to someones head team killing is a part of this game and can be allowed for the fun but i agree if some guy keeps team killing he deserves a weapon lock with a exception for the NC, they can't help it its out of there control
it is in poor taste to punish honest mistakes in the same way as malicious intent. you got tked once or twice, i have too...... get over it.
ever think this is one of the reasons that you get tk'd so much ? such poor attitude makes people want to kill you. So either have some situational awareness or stop being a dick dalton in the game. and the fact that you are stating that you are going to teamkill someone even on forums is a form of harassment - read the EULA. this will lessen your ability for getting tkd. because usually its people who are frustrated in the game for being bad who tk. another example is if they are under br 30 - let it go. they probably still dont even have the foggiest idea of how the game is played and scare easily.
Ok, breeje... you feel teamkilling is fun/funny sometimes. Its funny why, because you know it annoys other people? Well, IMO, its the game can do a better job detecting what is an obvious purposeful teamkill, it should ban you faster and longer.. is what I'm saying.
Its not my attitude that is bad Baphoma, its yours. Read your post and tell me how jerkish you come across. The teamkills I'm talking about are people who just decide to C4 a spawn room because they don't like people in the spawn room. Or 4th faction jerks who, after you killed them 4 times, decide to logon to your faction to teamkill you. I personally don't get targeted specifically by my own faction much, because I don't talk or join groups that I don't know the players much. You assume wrongly. You ever play TR and know of ANONfight? He is a great example of what I'm talking about. His playstyle is " go to a high pop fight, ******** prox chat about how people are doing it wrong, and, after a while, C4 people. He does this religiously, and the game doesn't stop him.
My point is what's to stop me from standing in front of you repeatedly, or running to your grenades? Now you're locked and I'm laughing.
yes i deserve a weapon lock not a ban it's not like i do this regular, i do it on low pop when i cant find a fight maybe once or twice this year and it's funny cause the the guys i killed start looking for me to get revenge what i gladly allow more then once
explain how the system can better detect these things more efficiently when we cant even do that in real life because of the simplest things such as lying.
Annnd you obviously didnt read my next statement so **** and **** because my time is too valuable for this post. p.s. stop playing the victim. and deal with it. we all have to!
I hate to say it, but I'm against this one for sure. I can't say how many times I'll be crouch down in a door way firing and people will jump over me into my line-of-fire. So basically they are being shot by me and the enemy at the same time. They die and it is often on me because I get the last shot. Problem is, players that are stupid enough to jump over you once are likely to be stupid enough to do it again. I can't say how many time people run in front of me while I'm obviously firing at the enemy. And you know what happens when I stop? The enemy that I was shooting at kills me - often times killing the person that ran in front of me and then killing me. There are times when TK'ing is a real issue and I agree the spawn rooms is one of these situations. There are other times in battle when the Friend-or-Foe icon doesn't pop-up, someone runs into your line-of-fire, you turn a corner and you are right up in someone's face and it's reflex, when your mines go off and kill a friendly for one reason or another, or friendlies are caught in a grenade blast. I have a lot less accidental TK'ing in vehicles other than sunders. Lock a sunder for Platoon/squad only and you will have people constantly trying to jump into it and getting killed because they do stupid things because they think they can get in any sundy that drives by - and guess what - you get a TK because of their stupidity. I get more TK's driving a sundy than any other way.
Need to fix saboteurs? Retail box, $40. Sub required to play. 40 + 14.99 = 54.99 $54.99 to even start into the game, plus the monthly fee. Then enforce tickets against TKing. No one will want to risk that much on sabotage. Only way to combat it.
I am sick of this team killing BS. I logged in and got killed in spawn rooms by no less than 4 level 10 and under characters today. My husband logged in and got killed by one 3 times. Why the **** do I have to get grief points for killing ******** that do this? Can't they have notoriety or something so we can all slaughter them penalty free? I really am not very interested in playing if this **** is going to continue. Fix your game!
While id like to see Tkers watched more strictly i have to say your ideas wont work If anything theyll switch to getting themselves skilled to give you the heavy punishments
