[Suggestion] Give Flash's and roll cage & wider firing arch

I've just discovered like a few others the rather silly joy of using the flash as a combat vehicle.
But they are soo incredibly easy to flip on there heads for an instant death. If the had a roll cage then at least you'd have a chance to right yourself again. In addition a 20% increase in their horizontal firing arch would make them more fun without causing a balance problem.

Another addition make them less jittery in their handling, and less likely to spin out, and flip over.

I know there are much bigger problems to fix, but a little flash love would be great.

Anyone see any problems with these ideas?

As a lover of the Flash for as long as I've played, I support these changes.

Using the flash is great fun, though also really frustrating at times.

What I hate the most is the limited amount you can turn your camera. What I would like is to just be able to look everywhere. Obviously this would unbalance the weapons, so limit those instead.
Just stop the weapon from turning when you move your camera past there maximum range, maybe let the cross-hair stop too so you know you're out of range.

The roll cage is a given. They explode way too easily.

Or give it the same abilty as the Sunderer when in external view. So you can look around while driving.

Unfortunately I doubt a roll cage would actually do anything, all vehicles blow up when upside down.

    1) Don't treat driving in reverse the same as sliding down a hill. The turning/sliding characteristics of the Flash are _vastly_ different atm when comparing reverse and forwards speeds.

    2) Make third person view have crosshairs, providing an easier time of aiming or
2b) Have the firstperson aiming be stabilized so every single pebble doesn't throw the aim off by 20+ degrees.

    3) Add rollcage (or just return it to the survivability it had shortly before GU04, when it didn't explode even when upside down)

It didn't explode when upside down a while ago though. And it was a lot more userfriendly back then.

The explodeyness of the Flash does have a good side to it too: having to eject at a moments notice hones your reflexes.

I love the reverse slidiness. I use it to do reverse 180s all the time.

It's not bad in a non-threatening situation, but the lack of control easily bites you in the *** in a combat situation :I

yup with just a little more controll and the abilty to not flipover and explode on the tinest of rocks would make this vechile infinetly more fun to use.

Plus from SOE's point of view if it does become more viable people are lily to spend more upgrading it

Roll cage is the making sense and aesthetic part. Just make an exception to the rule about vehicles blowing up whenever they roll on their back. Roll cage on flash is great idea. We all love to drive up crazy mountains with our turbo and fly in the air. :D

Is there a 'proper' place to post to see if we can make this happen?
  12. Zitroxious

Everyone likes driving them and everone loves shooting them so whats not to like.. wish there would be certable shield for the front.. mobile turret
  13. Imposer

Sure does, I've had a good laugh when I'm with someone else on a flash and it's starts to flip so I jump out and they end up suiciding.
  14. FlayvorOfEvil

The flash is way too explosive now. It would barely tip over before it blew up and if you ran into a wall too hard, you blew up. I'm not calling for realism, but where is the fun in using turbo boost if it blew you up every time you jumped more than 20 feet in the air? Other vehicles don't blow up if they hit the ground too hard, why should the flash?
  15. Grumpymunky

I find that using my helmet to line up fury shots makes it surprisingly accurate. Haven't tried the other flash weapons though.

    Reddit or twitter, apparently.

they should really just make the flash feel more responsive. It feels really awkward and sluggish. A tighter turn radius would be nice. The dame thing is so easy to kill at least make it fast and maneuverable. Better traction would also be nice so it doesn't spin out all the time
  18. WalrusJones

Its funny, the traction upgrade is what causes most the spinning out for me. o_O
  19. Being@RT

    Oh, forgot this.

    4) Make mineguard shield the driver too. It's nice to have a 75% reduction in damage to the Flash, but kinda sucks the fun out of that upgrade when you die.

Not that I plan on using mineguard with how cheap the Flash is in resources, but if you're going to offer that as a cert path..

    Flash is fine.

You flip them over when you drive too fast on uneven terrain. Hit your jumps correctly and you will live.

Need another 20%? Climb a rock. I don't have an issue with the firing and I flash everywhere.

Handling is great. Just squirrely enough to need to drift on high speed turns.

Just yesterday, I chased down a 1/12 sundy while firing my M20 at it. Just as it caught fire, the driver jumped out. After a couple more shots, the sundy blew up, I hit the parking brake and cranked the bars. I did a 180 as I passed the dead sundy and when I came to rest, my crosshairs were on the driver. Tat-tat-tat....dead.

The flash doesn't have a problem.

edit: lol at all the flash newbs. The squirreliness is what makes the flash good and separates the men from the boys. I drive a maxed out racer chassis, none of that surger or power junk. I even had turbo for awhile but it doesn't really do much now. Not many hills that 85kph isn't enough to get over. That and there is a much better option than turbo....soooooo much better.
