Give all charge ups unlimited ammo and functionality of phase shift.

    Lancer is a great weapon as it is, any talk about buffing it is more likely to get it nerfed because for some reason people are too stupid to realise how extremely effective it is even alone so they dont use it... so people dont complain about it.

    If people knew it was about twice as ammo/damage efficient as the stock RL it would probably get changed... whops?



    About as much outcry if the Carv got 50% less ammo in its clip and only like 250 ammo in total and all TR carbines that for some reason enjoy 10 extra shots per clip for no real drawback lost them?

    As a VS, no - chargeups do not need infinite ammo. What the VS needs more then anything Maxwise (for av weapons, at least) is a bit of a projectile speed buff / max ammo for Comets, which don't really compare to the other two empires' after their nerf a few aeons ago.

    As far as the lancer is concerned, I like it quite a bit as is. The lancer has it's niche - low alpha, but obscene range, and insane when used in coordinated lancer groups. There's nothing nastier on Hossin then a lancer squad with engie / medic support hanging out in a ginormous tree that can look down on a tech plant.

    Try a fully charged shot and two followup non-charged shots, then reload - leaving the 6th in the chamber gives a short reload. (last I checked, at least) ... Repeat as desired, bear in mind that the charge level affects projectile velocity - higher charge levels yield faster beams.
