Have a very active outfit on Connery, still running platoons on a daily basis. Like I've been doing for the last 2 and a half months. Still following green/yellow waypoints to the next base that I've taken and lost 80 times already.

The "find an outfit, people make this game fun" theory worked for me for the first few months. Outfits don't change the fact that the game is stale.

QFT. if NC ran from every fair fight, there would be no way we could hold onto our Indar bonus for so long. some people are just straight up delusional.

Maybe this game is meant for competitive people... There doesn't always have to be rewards and things given to you to have fun. For some people, and I know this is not the masses, competing is fun.. I guess I was just speaking out to those people. The challenge to organize a fight to take Indar and other events is what makes this game fun. What do you get for a nice score card in Counter Strike? Call of Duty? Battlefield 3? Nothing. You get stats to brag about, you get the competition that comes from beating the other team in a battle or a match. Come on guys. People are always complaining about stuff and I am so tired of it. This is World of Warcraft all over again. Give us reward for doing this, give us this. What happened to just competing and enjoying that instead of just throwing up our hands and saying aww theres not enough reward. This is a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER. The reward is killing people. This game actually goes farther than these traditional FPS to give you a tangible reward for winning a fight, You took that base over. IT takes it even FARTHER with allowing you to take more and more bases to take the entire continent.

Bottom line: You people lost your sense of competition, and I am sorry.

This forum is full of the grass might be greener on the other side delusions. Losers make excuses, winners win (period)

I honestly feel bad for ADK and any NC that have to put up with Excellentz. It's bad enough just reading the idiocy he spews on these Genudine threads while everyone else generally agrees there is a pop problem that needs to be fixed.

Do you guys realize how insane he is and just agree to not mention it in game and go do your own thing or what? There is no way so many people on NC can actually take him seriously.
  6. Excellentz

Everyone? Generally? Ever heard of SSS? Small Sample Size? You are referring to a thread with 124 replies to it I would say about maybe 40 of them are unique people (not duplicates or multiple posts by same person, and of course all 40 do not agree with you). This means everybody (all 40 on this thread) agree with you? I see some people for the VS agreeing with ME. You need to learn polling and how representation works. This is not representative of "everyone." Go to college, learn a few things, and come back and show us that you progressed.

If you think I spew out idiocy then you are obviously not able to comprehend pretty basic concepts. I am sorry for you and your future if that is the case. People do listen and take me seriously lol. You will not find NC on here saying that I am a bad leader. You won't. If you do, they don't actually run in my platoons.

Please quote me specific things that I said that is idiotic. Provide with that post some facts and actual tangible evidence as to why I am incorrect.

My posts are well thought out, well written, and very very simple to understand. Sorry that I am well spoken and enjoy arguing out the baseless facts most of your fear mongers throw out there. You are sick of losing...and I can understand. Work on gettng better and competing rather than making an excuse or giving up and leaving LOL (just like you guys do when you lose Indar..Whelp better go ghost cap Esamir/Amerish)

I wasn't asking for rewards or compensation for my time spent on the game. I believe the cert and SC system is fair and pretty well balanced. Could you point me to a line in my post that suggested I wasn't being rewarded enough? No, I am simply bored with the fact that the game is very very shallow.

I just don't think that a game in which the ONLY objective EVER is to follow the green waypoint can have a very lasting appeal. A bounty target could be something cool, an actual reason to lock continents could be cool, I'm not asking for them to give me more cash and time sinks like guns and more unlocks. The game has a ton of untapped potential that is just being ignored at this point in favor of dropping horns and SMGs on us.

No thanks. Give me depth, not more crap to spend money on.
  8. Excellentz

I bolded it. You just said it right there, but I inferred it above in your previous post. You are looking for an explicit reason (reward) to do things. Competition and for the sake of it is implicit.

Other games like COD/BF3/ANY FPS does not have real incentives for playing. Shoot they just started putting in "levels" since like COD 3 or so (I cant recall when, I don't play COD I don't like arcade shooters since counter strike.)

We have the same incentives other gun games out there have but MORE. We actually h ave territory we can capture, we have continents we can take over, we have things to do. Start a new platoon, get people to do your own thing. I like to do fun things like get a full squad and just go take on a base that is very hard to control and see how long you can hold it...its fun. See my video of us going to hold Leopardwood nursery with NO INFLUENCE with a single squad against fleets of air flying over saying "what the hell is going at leopardwood why is it NC controlled" Then they get busted down by Burster maxes. Fun stuff. That is the type of freedom this game has. You can do whatever you want. You don't have to just follow a waypoint around mindlessly.
  9. BHB_rightnow

Ive gotten tired of the NC zerg myself. There is a large quality difference between now and 2 months ago. Bandwagoneers from the showdown results? Cant really say, but the number of useless meatbags in blue and gold has really exploded on Gen.

So i made a TR today just for the hell of it. Dakka dakka pew pew.

Oh and Excellentz. Tone it down man jeez.
  10. Garantine

You're justifying this game's lack of depth by comparing it to arena shooters that are nothing more than shooting galleries with moving targets? The last BF game I really played was BF2142, so I can't comment on the more recent games, but even BF2142 felt like it had more depth at times than PS2 does. It certainly didn't burn me out so quickly either.

I really don't think that just because I have the option of either following the zerg or fighting nothing and accomplishing nothing really means this game has "a lot to do".
  11. Warmech

Sorry but I honestly don't read your walls of text on multiple consecutive replies to every post in this thread. I can assume they all say the same thing though, about how great the NC are on Genudine and that's the real reason population is so low.

I've already said it before, I have fought equally between NC/VS zergs when Genudine was actually decently populated and TED/PINK was much more skilled than any NC I ran into. I know well enough from my 2nd character on a more populated and balanced server what PS2 is supposed to play like and NC on this server is going to get stomped when they don't massively outnumber their opposition and have Asians ghost capping Indar while everyone else is asleep.

Now hurry up and type a "well thought out, well written" wall of text rebuttal (or you know, maybe 10 in a row) to humor everyone a little more.

I am trying to create easy to understand metaphors that some people's expectations of a game just cannot be met... This is just the birth of the game we are experiencing, I know it doesn't seem like it, but its only been out since october. In the grand scheme of things this is VERY early in the game. Think back to wow and how long it took to come out with PVP. It takes major, major programming hours to put in these type of balanced rewards. I am not saying I do not want explicit rewards. I am not saying I am against them putting in more incentives for people to do things like follow orders and capture speciific things and what not, heck I made a massive post about how I feel they need to.

However, I am rational. I understand the game is not 100% developed for everything we want. that is what major patches and expansions are for. This game will evolve and we will get these things. All I am trying to do is show that there is currently things to do and it is up to the player base to generate content (just as arcade shooters). However, the battles are MUCH MUCH larger than them and there are objectives that are tangible that can be taken and rewarding from a competitive standpoint (UES/Indar bonus/Triple caps).

I agree meta game content is lacking. I AGREE! However, people seem to be forgetting about good ole competition and the rewards that come from it.
  13. Garantine

Really I can either go and follow the zerg on Indar, or go ghost cap an uncontested continent for a so small as to be meaningless bonus.

Or I can fight at the crown. Or I can sit at the WG. Or I could go defend a base that isn't being attacked. Or attack a base that isn't being defended.

    Endless options.
  14. Excellentz

Each of my posts in this thread have been different with a different message in reply to a different person. You do know what they say about assumptions........

It is obvious you didn't read them lol. Stay stubborn and naive to your "we lose there must be a reason why" philosophy and we will just agree to disagree here.
  15. WrrLor

Whoa wait a minute here. NC was almost always the under-populated faction until recent changes on Genudine.

If anything, things were pretty even across the board but we were almost always the lowest percentage.

"Massively outnumbering" anyone on Genudine is a very recent change for NC.

  16. Excellentz

The fear mongers like to forget facts like that. They live in their diffusional worlds
  17. SIVLEOL

As long as I'm not outnumbered ridiculously. (Although I am NC) (To the point where its not possible to do anything) I'm actually okay with being outnumbered, at least as LA. I just run around getting as many kills as possible.

What does mind boggle me though is how, last night, the amp station we controlled, on Indar, was left almost completely undefended until it was almost captured. At first it was only 2 people using flashes, dropping in and occasionally bringing a sunderer to continuously attack the generators, I got a pretty nice 7 kill streak at first using LA, trying my best to protect the remaining generators, mainly the generator protecting the SCU. Then, seeing their sunderer come in as I went for ammo, I swapped to a double falcon MAX, killed that sunderer, then died trying to fight the 3 infantry that were now basically taking a large base by themselves. I continued to fight back, alone, for about an hour as LA, using vehicles to get back to combat once the SCU fell... and all this time no other NC could be seen in the station except for the occasional reaver flying past. Finally, I saw someone say something in the order channel, so I sent a whisper informing them that amp station needed help. Not much time later, I began to see more enemies appear, a few at first then more and more. Some time around there the front line was pushed back and finally some other NC began to appear at the amp station. At that point it was already too late since all the generators were down.

I didn't care that I was outnumbered, my problem with this is just that we somehow allowed an amp station on indar to get practically ghost capped.
  18. Excellentz

Well, I believe the majority of last night's, prime time battle was int he south around Tawrich and at the VS/TR warpgates. We were rather extended but that was because we had 50%+ territory control on Indar. We were fighting where the fight was. Was it you who messaged me? I am pretty sure I was the only one speaking in /orders last night... I do vaguely recall somebody mentioned that was happening. It was quite a war last night though
  19. Warmech

You still don't get it do you. "Losing" is not the problem. A 10% resource discount on items most people stay max supply on and a publicity stunt event with no reward being "won" by the NC means virtually nothing.

I'm perfectly fine "Losing" on a more populated server because it was at least a good battle with multiple platoons on each side, armor columns, and a frontline which will still exist as everyone shifts to defend the next hex. On more populated servers "Losing" can happen anywhere, not just on Indar and not just at a bio/tech/amp once one faction has ghost capped far enough. I was ok with "Losing" back when Genudine had a decent population because the battles were fun, but it's not anymore no matter what faction we fight against.

At this point I know it's moot trying to reason with you, all I'm hoping is for someone from SOE to look at this thread and read some reasonable arguments about the population problem.
  20. Excellentz

Aha well finally something we can agree on!!!! I too am hoping this thread generates enough publicity for SOE to read and then work on speeding up server merges/transfers. I agree that bigger battles are more fun. I too want to see those battles happen more regularly, not just during primetime.

All you have to do is introduce "reason" (as you have put it) into your arguments and then I can understand. I understand that you want to have more fun and a bigger population, I do too. But when you start to confuse this desire with an excuse as to why you lose the "imaginary" (competitive people do not believe they are imaginary, they are tangible and can be had.) battles and that Genudine NC is just an impossible "zerg" to beat. I must disagree and point out the facts as to why this is the case, it is not just numbers....

Even Ray Charles could read through these points and understand there are obvious organizational short comings in the TR and VS factions on Genudine.

Losing is the problem, you just don't see it. You constantly lose and your people are demoralized. They want to quit and hate the game, they have no sense of reward because they have not won a competition. Nobody enjoys being warpgated all the time, it creates an environment where people either go to a new continent or just plain quit.
