NC1 velocity: 650m/s S variant: 600m/s wut basically, kitting out gauss rifle s for long range: with HVA, comp, and grip is absolutely completely utterly useless, as HVA brings velocity to 650m/s and adds recoil, HVA mitigates recoil (0 + 1 - 1 = 0) but reduces hipfire. Why does it even have reduced velocity?
I feel like the S Variant gun was balanced around having access to the Under Barrel Grenade Launcher. But that isn't the huge advantage that it used to be.
The difference between 600 and 650m/s is almost unnoticeable on a full auto. It's not even really that evident on things like battle rifles. 10% more recoil is noticeable, especially when it's being applied to every single shot. HVA is a bad choice for the Gauss Rifle S - it has significantly less recoil than the Gauss Rifle (much smaller FSRM, access to compensator), and HVA detracts from this for no real gain. You should be using SPA, or no ammo mod The Gauss Rifle S shares the crown of "secretly one of the best, most versatile guns in the game that nobody realizes" with the GD-22S. It's a really, really, really good gun that loses 64dps compared to the Gauss Rifle but gains much easier to manage recoil and access to all attachments. It would be my main AR if the Tross didn't exist
All this velocity talk is madness to me. I wouldn't notice the differwnce between 300 and 400. You people debate 600 vs 650.
