The last few nights I've had 20mb ish patches every time I've played. Each one has made it worse. Last night I played for about 2 hours and my screen froze about 8 times. I also get massive drops in ping times, up to the 1000s for a few minutes then back to normal. The game for me in the last week or so is more unplayable than it's been for years.
It's working great for me. The FPS spikes, I believe, were due to the particle effects from rockets. I lowered the particle effects from ultra to high and it helped, although it could have also have been one of the very recent patches. You try fiddling with the settings, one-at-a-time? I did that. I paid close attention to the huge drops, which probably would have frozen my old computer, and fiddled.
I thought i have a gaming computer and not a refrigerator. I think they are glad that it runs at all.
I've been having similar issues. The screen freezes for a few seconds and then the game resumes. I thought at first it was my PC since it's pretty old but then I saw this thread.
I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 and the freezes disappeared. However, one time i got a one second freeze. Sincerely
yep ever since last update been receiving these lag spikes usually happens every time i encounter an enemy thought it was something running in background but this is not the case
Same here, just thought my new PC power supply is faulty as I replaced it at the same time (about 4 weeks before) when the freezes began. 5+ second freezes every 10-20 minutes. Geforce GTX 750, non overclocked, just updated drivers without any change.
For those still getting these (myself included) check this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/5bs8h8/micro_freezes/d9rceta/ Edit: Nevermind, doesn't work. (Dev confirmed)
