Game crashes after about 1 hour, error message included

After about 40 to 60 minutes, Planetside 2 freezes in game but I can still hear sound effects and squad members' voice chat. About 10 or 15 seconds after it freezes, the game crashes to desktop with the generic message, "Planetside 2 has stopped working. Windows will blah blah blah" Windows never finds a solution for the problem though.

I just installed Game Booster from Razer in an attempt to get a few more frames per second and while I was running the "Analyze" option in Game Booster it showed me the error logs PS2 was generating when it crashes. I am pasting the error messages below:

This is just two of the crash messages but it has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME I run PS2. And I do mean EVERY SINGLE TIME. Below are my system specs as generated by Game Booster:

I know I am running the game on an under-powered system but with the graphics settings I'm using I manage to get OK performance in game. Aside from the game crashing every time after about 60 minutes I am having a blast playing PS2 and I want to play MORE. But it is very frustrating freezing up in the middle of a great battle or base capture, rebooting the whole computer just to be safe, re-launching the game which takes literally over 2 minutes from the time I click the icon until my character shows up in the game, finding the squad I was in before the game crashed, and finally making my way back to the action!

My system is not overclocked in any way, I do not believe this is a heat issue as I have SysFan running to monitor the temps and my computer gets no hotter playing PS2 then it does playing any other game. Overall my system is very stable in all things from video editing and encoding to games like Dishonored, DotA 2, DayZ, No More Room in Hell, Dark Age of Camelot, etc...

I have spent a few dollars for Station Cash and currently I am wasting a 7 day XP Booster because I can't stay in the game longer then an hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you,
    LaxerFL
  2. Asimplicity

It's not your system..I run it on a system that should play this game easily and it still freezes. It's a memory leak and I have no clue if they are even attempting to find it...hell I don't know if they are even aware it exists. They don't ever say anything...
  3. Asimplicity

Yep, mine just froze and crashed again...
  4. LaxerFL

    This really sucks!

HELLO? SONY? This is the official Tech Support Forum right? Well, I NEED SOME @*^*^$!&*@ TECH SUPPORT!!!

A response would be nice Sony. I'm ponying up cash to play your game, you could at least support it...
  5. chap

I can't leave the warpgate without crashing :x
  6. LaxerFL

Does SOE ever reply to any request for support? All I see are a bunch of stickies and then hundreds of unanswered posts from players in need of tech support. Its like a freakin' ghost town in here as far as Sony is concerned...
  7. Rago

Can you Imagine that the most people all over the World are in Holidays at the Moment, just over think it before you start Raging arround here young man.
I don´t Say SOE does not work, but they maybe with there Families of course this is just a Guess because i just don´t know.

But they May Be Shot In Numbers.

I still don´t want to work on weekends, for myself,....
  8. LaxerFL

I'm 35 thank you, so keep the "young mans" to yourself. I don't run a multi-million dollar company so I don't need to worry about tech support on holidays. Sony does. I'm sure they employ enough people that don't celebrate Christmas to keep a few people at the helm.

Besides, I'm not the first person to have this issue, there are hundreds of posts about this same exact issue. I have yet to see a response from Sony. Glad you don't want to work weekends, but I fail to see how that has anything to do with tech issues in PS2. Go play the game instead of posting in threads when you have nothing constructive to say, whippersnapper

    Just a FYI

I managed to get it working by changing from my onboard sound card to my gforce card. I suggest testing your PS2 with the sound completely turned off and see if it is more stable.

I know it might not work for everyone but I have not crashed once since I made the change.

That's awesome! I will try it now. I'm game to try anything to make PS2 work! Thanks for the suggestion

No Problem.Raging arround helps out a Lot :p (The Game has a lot of Problems, they will not be fixed over the Holidays imho, even if you don´t want to hear it)
    Have Fun
