Friendly suggestion for the guys in the tanks :)

A big part of the problem is that friendly infantry seem to get instakilled when barely nudged by a tank. This is an area where Planetside 1 did it right. You had to be going pretty much full speed to instakill an infantry, anything less than that and you'd only damage them and push them out of the way.

I have been run over by friendlies more times than the enemies who are trying to run me over but, I do play VS a lot.

Heck, the other night an enemy lightning tried to run me over and I jumped on and then over it... turned to fire a missile into it and a friendly lightning clips me out of no where sending me flying, almost kills me (luckily had my shield up).

I'm pretty careful when I'm driving a tank and even wait for people to get off the road in front of me, but using the Mag you will end up TKing someone. I avoid being around them like the plague now, more so because I know how easily accidents can happen. Haven't Tk'd anyone while driving the Vanguard.
  3. Talizzar

They need to turn the mechanism around for killing the enemy with TKing your team. You can look at your team mate wrong and they die, but with an enemy you have to them square twelve times (ok minor exageration).

This game should have been a lot more like it's original. No first level character should be allowed to use any vehicle. It should take at least 1000 certs to unlock a level 1 driving skill (flash), 2 for Lightning, level 3 for tanks, 4 for fighter aircraft, 5 for sunderers and galaxies, and 6 for liberators. That would be about 6000 certs in total.

They should also not be allowed to use any explosive weapons until unlocking them through the cert system, no SC. 1000 to get a single grenade, and 1000 certs to get each rocket launcher and grenade launcher. Level 1 characters should only have one armor suit, medium assault, and it should have the least options and basic semi-automatic weapons. Every other armor type should require certs to skill in to.

If they look like they don't even notice/care, it's probably just desync. If they seem to intentionally run you over, well yeah, maybe not.
  6. LameFox

lol, people paid subscriptions to grind their way out of some boring default role? Gee, I wonder why that game got replaced with a 'sequel' that overwrites it instead of follows it...
  7. NoctD

You know, I've seen people standing still right in the middle of the road. If you want to be AFK, try going behind a tree or something.
  8. xMihr

In fairness I can't even count the number of times infantry parkour over a massive tank column and expect to get through fine. Ill be friendly and park my tank beside a ridge, tree or building and let infantry use my cannon as a ramp up. That being said, if we just cap a base it's a fairly safe assumption that the 30 tanks rolling with you are going down the road and you're not doing your life any favours trying to jump from hood to hood.
  9. Loco

What I don't understand, sometimes I try to run enemies over in a MAG, it takes 2-3 passes before they go down, moment i clip a friendlies pinky, they die...

I have come to the conclusion that TR and NC are all midgets.
  10. AUSGrizzly

I was run over one day by this group spamming Prox with orders and idiotic statements (FFS NC can't Zerg get this through your heads people). There was a sundy parked on the side of the road, plenty of space for a tank to pass without going anywhere near it... "FFS PEOPLE STAY OFF THE ROADS TANKS GET PRIORITY ALL THE TIME! YOU ALL SUCK ITS YOUR FAULT!!!" etc...

You guys who decide it's a cool idea to C4 a friendly tank because YOU were too stupid to realize that you were running around on foot in the middle of a tank fight are a bunch of ********.

There is a person on our server who is now kill on sight for me and several of my comrades because he got pissed at me for backing up over him while fighting a three way tank battle and C4'd my tank. You all need to watch what the hell is going on around you in a tank fight as engineers or HA. It is not our fault if you get your fool *** run over.

As for those who run in the middle of the road as a tank convoy is heading to its next objective and you get run over, well that's all on you too. We aren't going to slow down and wait for you to get out of the way and slow down the rest of the advance behind us just because you're an idiot. In fact we are doing the rest of our faction a service by running you over because you are probably dumb enough to toss grenades into a pack of friendlies whenever you do manage to make it to the next fight.

As for those ******* tank drivers who will intentionally run down friendlies they could have easily avoided... by all means blow them up with your C4, I have no issues with this. Also, feel free to C4 sunderers that deploy in HORRIBLE positions and make it impossible for competent sunderer drivers to get into good positions.

Word of warning to all sunderer drivers. If you deploy in a terrible position, I will ask you TWICE to undeploy. If you do not comply I WILL tank mine you.

Lol this is such a touchy subject! Plain and simple, some just cant & shouldn't drive. Should Infantry check before crossing a main path? If you hear a tank, YES! It's not rocket science! If Infantry IS running to the objective, DOWN the road, well he should be off to one side or the other. Drivers should certainly make the effort to get by. IT'S NOT HARD! If your blazing a trail thru a field & coming up on infantry, don't expect them to run into rocks so you can rush past. They can't run forward while looking backwards like a tank, it's your responsibility to go around them. I've spent plenty of time in tanks, I've even run a mag rider(I don't want to hear ANY excuses on this one, that thing is a Cadillac!). Heck I've spent a lot of time in a sky guard watching for approaching air. I find it easy enough to avoid hitting infantry Keep your head on a swivel. If ya hit somebody unintentionally "/tell {name} sry didnt see ya". Simple as that. Tbh, I'm in the habit of sending a "/tell sry" or Prox Chat for all accidental FF if I can.

I saw one mouth breather drive off the road & thru/under the support legs of the base into a Group of infantry to make a U-turn. He could have easily backed up & pulled off. No doubt that was careless we had just capped Tawrich. I'd have blown him up but was in my Skyguard. I'm w/ the c-4 guy. Stupid drivers get their privileges revoked. Srsly if you cant be bothered to make the Attempt to avoid running over infantry, you shouldn't be driving.

In this game there is no right of way for infantry. Sooner infantry accept this true fact, less you get runned over by own vehicles. I know this will make some people angry, but i personaly use this policy when on foot. I see vehicles operating, i stay hell away from them.
Vehicles need lots of space to operate in this game, especially magmover which can strafe. And in hectic combat situations there is even less time to spend attention to infantry movement.
  14. allattar

The magrider is a really odd track for running into anything. First of all it installation kills friendlies. One little bump and bam they die and go flying.

But the other thing is put a sauron on and friendly troops actively run into you. They will charge up. I wastrying to strafe away from ibe guy on foot and he still ran under the mag.

Then there are the helpful engineers. Suddenly you cant maneuver oryou will run over them. You have no idea where they are. You dodge a missile and someone dies.

I appreciate the repairs. But this tank may be strafing or avoiding damage if in the line of fire.

The minute you try to run over the enemy though. Nothing happens. You can sail over them. Strafe on to them. Magburn through a crowd. Nothing. Oh occasionally you bounce someone. Ive seen them fly off and tgekillslam shows a suicide when they hit the ground.

    Its freaking odd that tank
  15. Kaon1311

I was getting run over a lot, then i remembered this -

When i drive a tank, people seem to jump under my tracks, i do stop and send a sorry tell, but sometimes it is impossible to stop in time.
  16. Takoita

I have more problems with demented lightnings that are just a road pileup waiting to happen. Try and cut off my Prowler, will you?!
  17. Compass

If you're in the way of my tank, and I'm getting shot, I'm not waiting for you. I'll give you the courtesy of me trying to stop if I'm not dying as a result of it.
  18. Nightwolf

Just this so this the amount of times i have had inf run behind or in-front of me when i am taking hits and trying to get out of the way before i go boom is unreal

When i am on the move then yes i will try to avoid / brake but if your stupid enough to run across the path of a moving vehicle then your going to get plowed i mean its not like you can't heard / see the thing they are big and loud enough. Road safety people we all no it!
  19. Vreki

Remember that enemy that suddenly popped into existence, ate your whole magazine without getting a scratch and then killed you in a single shot?

Lag does that to vehicles too. You will be rolling along on an empty strecth of road and suddenly "You killed BR1 HeadlessChicken"

    Here is my unfriendly advice.

Get out of your stinking tanks you useless turds and cap the fecking base. Or will you not put your precious KDR in jeopardy?

So sick of fighting to the cap point which is still controlled by the enemy and finding it surrounded by 20 tanks and noone has thought to flip it.

You're only good for killing sunderers. Pretty much useless to be honest. Almost as bad as Snipers.
