Theres no excuse for this SOE. I'm hitting 40 frame and then all of a sudden dropping to 4? Hotfix it. Now.

Going from 60 to 20, it's really awkward.

Yeah, theres no point in playing if i'm going to be getting random frame drops while i'm under attack.

    Now?

Do you think it's as simple as changing the line of code which says "DropRandomlyTo4fps = 1"?

Yea I logged on all exited about the changes including the performance increase, hoping it'd mean I'd almost always be above 30 and never below 20 again, and yea... had the FPS counter on the whole time and I got a range of 5 (in very quick bursts mind you) to 45. Before it was minimum 15, usually 20 or above and max 60 depending on where I was and what was going on.

Not saying hotfix it now but something has definitely changed with the update.

There's a team of us in the office right now and we are looking at this.

    Yup it's unplayable atm

My framerate in general is the same as before, however I'm stuttering rather badly when loading things in the battlefield.

Audio is also distorted now, mainly explosions.

I had this before the patch. Think yourselves lucky. But it is noticeably worse post patch.

Does it have anything to do with everyone downloading the patch? I remember in other games large patchs caused FPS slowdown for the day.

Sigh, before this patch the worse i would get was 30 FPS on all max settings in the largest combat situations i could find, now i range anywhere between 10-5 on med/low in the warpgate/nowhere :(

Same problem, fps got a lot lower after the update. Had no problem playing on max settings with my GTX680, but now I have.
  18. JackD

Set down the render distance, the patch set it up

Seems like Graphic settings buffed. I played before on low settings (customized useroptions), but now with same settings textures are more detailed, and now i even see invisible infiltrators, which was impossible on low settings before...
And ofcourse FPS shutters mad. Before was 22-30 in huge battles, now 5-40.

Tried that myself, didn't help. It's the wicked FPS spiking that's the issue right now, not overall low FPS.

*EDIT* Well that's not accurate, lots of people having smooth yet lower than normal FPS issues now too, my apologies.
