Doesn't that strike you as being the most trifling, petty thing to get mad at?
  2. Kanil

Not really, no. I successfully refrain from shooting my teammates on purpose (at least until they shoot me) and I don't find that to be any great challenge.

I got TKed yesterday by an Engineer for "stealing MAX repair exp"...I was on Medic.

A friendly shot my plane repeatedly so i could let him/her hop in. It's an ESF. Seriously....people...

I never accept rides from strangers anyway...

It sould be more clear to the driver that someone needs a ride.

Usually can't hear someone screaming ride from 30m away, nor do I look the minimap that often. Bullets hitting the sundy are much easier way for the driver to realize someone needs a ride.

Would help if when asking for a ride, that request would come for the driver as a radiotransmit (same way you hear for example "generator has been destroyed") instead of someone screaming far away.

    Brilliant idea.

Man, some people here need to calm down... Obviously, emptying a magazine on a vehicle is stupid, but one or two shots is nothing to cry a river over. It's not out of disrespect that I do it, it's just so much easier to get their attention by doing so. Sorry for hurting your feelings, but I think you can handle it...

And to the Flash point, as a Flash driver, I don't care if they shoot to get my attention for two reasons: One, I have Fire Suppression on my Flash, so any minute damage caused by the shots will be recovered eventually, and two, the Flash will flip and hit the ground so much that the damage from the shots will be nothing compared to the damage the Flash took from my bad driving.

I think the entire chat system needs to be reworked so that it's a whole lot easier to tell where any command is coming from. As a medic, it's a pain in the a*s when I'm in a large fight, and someone needs healing and I can't find them. This would also apply to people asking for rides. Drivers would know where, and who, the demand for a ride came from. I suggest better clarification in the mini-map, and maybe a command to specifically target an ally and ask for a ride. The ally would then see a mark indicating where the command came from, kind of like when you take damage and that red indicator shows up.

Shooting a flash for transportation will make me turn around, and pump 3 fury grenades into your face, then happily go do whatever I was planning to do.

But one pop from a sidearm would not warrant a team kill

an idiot emptying a mag into a light armored transport.. now that's another story.
  11. Flying Mug

Don't mind this at all, in a Sunderer. Shooting a flash or a Harasser is different.

Plinking an armored vehicle to get the driver's attention is perfectly fine.

Plinking non-armored vehicles, eg. flashes, harassers is not.

Then the C4 Fairy will leave you a little gift.
  14. oberchingus

I always assumed that when a friendly shot my harasser, they were asking me to run them over. I've always taken it as a request to wash my harasser in their nanites. Request approved!

The problem with using the q menu callouts, is that they are only audible if you are in the short callout radius, if you are too far away to hear it, you only see it on the mini map, which many people dont pay attention to.

"Build a man a fire, he's warm for the night. Set a man on fire, he's warm for the rest of his life."

I guess I give rides to people sometimes. Occasionally. But mostly I like to empower people to be independent (by forcing them to find their own transportation and gradually realize that the times they pulled a Lightning as transport they actually were incredibly useful when they reached the base in force instead of being a flimsy, low-damage infantry.)

Be free and learn to fly, little birds! *pushes hatchlings out of the nest*

Meh. Whatever. I don't mind someone shooting my sundy. I get what they are saying and it's faster for them than hitting V..

Lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill ok?

    Mole Hills:
    shooting a sundy for attention.
    shooting a tank for attention.
Running in front of a sundy for a ride and accidentally getting killed.
spamming 'need a ride' until annoyance.
firing continuously like a ****** at a tank/sundy that is driving away
    etc.
    etc..

    Mountains:
Shooting off 10% of a flash's health. Use the Q or V key instead.

Doesn't bother me anymore unless I'm driving a flash. Even though that might be considered a sign that the driver wants to die, it doesn't mean by your hands.
  19. ColonelChingles

It really confuses me when people shoot at my Lightning.

Just yesterday there was a friendly Infiltrator who was opening up with a SMG at my Lightning. What did he want me to do? Get out and give him the keys? Go super slowly so he can ride on top?

    Seriously...

I AM a C$ F41ry. I see no reason for you to threaten, when what I do, helps your faction on Miller :p
