There's a - pardon me - sh*tload of ranting about performance decrease everywhere. Which is interesting, for I received a significant increase in FPS (I had no problems with network latency at all). It's now 30-40 instead of 20-30 even in serious meat grinders. Ultra. However, and this is supposed to be a feedback on theoretical bottlenecks, when my FPS does drop down to 20-30 (which is uncommon, unless there is a 200+ NC zerg at Regent Rock Garrison), I notice a slight input lag, even with raw mouse input enabled.
i got a small boost in fps too. most of the ranting is probably people trying to play on potatoes but yea i have the input lag too, though very minute.
so it's not only me. i recently was messing with options so i wasn't sure is it new settings, or patch. is it possible that multicore CPU or x64 are working properly – i have no longer CPU botlleneck, instead it is GPU and FPS are much better. Despite some strange single lag from time to time.
Yup, definite input lag for me plus the very occasional disconnect, though irritatingly only in battles where I am doing well (I guess that is why it is so infrequent, lol)
so did some fiddling, input lag seems to happen less frequently when i turn off vsync. i also moved down max pre rendered frames from 3 to 2 and that helped a bit. over all about a 10 fps increase though
If anyone has noticed there is more fog , in fact way too much fog for my taste. I'm sure this is intended to raise FPS.
actually its the opposite for me, theres no fog at all period, not even the render distance fog and i love it cuz now i can actually see what im doing
Considering what they admit they screwed up yesterday (The game essentially running on higher settings than you set it to) either you're lying about the performance increase, or you didn't start playing until they hot fixed that issue today.
The hotfix didn't affect me at the slightest in this regard. Graphics card fan is screaming however, so I'm pretty sure they unloaded some work to the GPU.
i lost around 15~20 fps in most scenarios actually, practically unplayable. I did notice that there's more GPU bound things now though....which in my case isn't a good thing.
I found that when I turn smoothing off to play on my 120hz TV, I am getting a consistent 120+ FPS now, even in large battles, but it crashes occasionally. It doesn't ever crash with smoothing on, though, at 60 FPS. The crashing is irritating, because I can run all of my other games (Far Cry 4, Bioshock Infinite, Advanced Warfare) on ultra settings with no crashing issues. Does anyone know how to resolve the crashing issues?
is your GPU overclocked? i know mine would crash randomly because i pushed it too hard.. or maybe you should downclock your card 10Mhz and see if that helps
What are your system specs and in game settings, did you adjust anything in the game files like the ini/cfg settings?
The Strix is factory-overclocked to 1253MHz. I'll try downclocking it when I'm off work and see if that helps. I've just been playing it with smoothing on so I don't waste nanites by pulling a Vanguard and having my client crash.
My system is in my signature. ASRock H97 Anniversary Motherboard Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2GHz Asus GTX 970 Strix 4GB Crucial M550 128GB Internal Solid State Drive Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD HyperX Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)DDR3 DDR3 I haven't ever tweaked anything in the ini/cfg settings. Everything is set to the highest possible setting, but I'm not sure off the top of my head what the specific settings are, I can check when I'm home.
Like woot happened? My fps, which previously were 30 in insane battles and 50-70 at other times now never goes lower than 40 and stays 60+ almost always. While looking at sky i get 180+ fps. Playing all ultra. Previously i always was CPU bound, now I'm GPU bound. Always. I like this update.
