I've had this problem a few times and had the usual tech support monkey responses. I did my own investigation into this. It is definitely a problem with the server you are connecting to. 1. My friend can login to my character fine and load into the game world. So its not the character. 2. I can login as a different character on a different server or as a different character on the same server (sometimes) 3. Reinstalling etc didn't have any effect. 4. Changing routers/firewall or whatever doesn't affect it. Thinking it was maybe something to do with the server blocking me specifically on my IP I dialled a VPN to my work and had it routing traffic through that network. (its in the advanced settings of the VPN.) I then loaded up the game and voila I could login with the broken character. To fix it for a long period (until it rears its head again) I just connect with the VPN and then break the connection in game and relog and it works again. This only happens every now and then. I know a lot of people won't have a VPN to dial but it's a fix that works. Maybe tech support could look at this too and work something out.
