If you use invert vertical fly option, the mouse look in cockpit view is also reversed. Makes it pretty hard to control

The flying didn't feel to off but I definitely noticed that it was much hard to keep my gun on target. It almost felt like the mossie retained momentum more then usual, I had a harder time pulling out of ground attack runs then I do on live.

The new flying controls are good, but it needs a little improvents.

I flew the Reaver for ~32 minutes total, on Koltyr. I was mostly dogfighting other ESFs and just flying around.
I'm not a seasoned pilot by any means, and I barely have any experience with Reaver.

Overall, I didn't notice a huge difference with live servers, my Reaver seemed to generally handle well. However, it was hard to make precision maneuvers, to aim at small targets. It felt like my Reaver had too much inertia. Not sure if that's intended, maybe it should be a part mastering the ESF, but it was hard for me to aim.

Also I've noticed that whenever I've used Free Look (middle mouse button) my Reaver would roll and pitch as I moved my mouse. Not sure if it's intentional, but with some adjustments it can be a really cool feature, because at times it felt like my own Reaver was making it easier to look around.

On Koltyr flying is different.. the aircrafts are like a floating and it feels quite good :) like there was an air :) fine things :)
Noticed some lags and like a jumping of aircraft while flying in high speed, but could be because of bad ping.

It's really slow for Liberators. I maxed my sensitivities right away, and it still feels like I'm running Racer frame (I use bomber). It's not as bad as racer, but not as good as regular Bomber, it feels like right in the middle after maxing all my sensitivity bars. All in all, I'd say maybe another 20-30% increase in the max sensitivity and then it should feel OK, my rolling still feels pretty slow though as well.

And I guess there's gonna be no solo Liberators? Since the sensitivities are linked or something you're gonna have one hell of a time aiming with max sensitivity on a vehicle weapon.

I just found out that now "aircraft sensitivity" applies to both the aircraft and it's weapons. No. Bad Lukie *sprays you with water*. That's a BIG no-no.

The perfect game would have a sensitivity adjustment for EACH weapon (and one to override weapons of the same type). Don't give us just the override. If I'm not mistaken the slider that affects aircraft gunners is the 'vehicle' one, which is OK. I fly with 1.0 sensitivity but gun with ~0.2. Please 'fix' that. Thank you.

    Can I get an amen?
  8. tijolo

BTW, I spoke too soon on my other post (1/3). As everyone is saying: Yaw is broken. And this 'post movement' is getting annoying. Please fix this. Or, if possible, leave it the way it is on live.

First i wanna thanks to people for jumping to test this new flight mechanics and for their understanding of the task. It was very nice of them to jump on flak towers and use ground lockons. It made it so easy in such a small space to do this. They were very nice when i started to TK by blowing them up in their turrets.

Now, i fly almost everyday for an hour or two on live servers. I'm not a good pilot, i'm still learning. I use all esfs and the most that i enjoy is the reaver.

    TESTED REAVER
    Airframes: Hover, Racer, Dogfighting.
i imported my user ini and xml for keybings and sensitivity from the live server

So, the reason why i enjoy the reaver more then the other ones is cause it has a certain smoothness caused by some sort of inertia, Not sure how to explain this very well but i'll try. When lets say you dive like a vulture and then pitch up, the reaver kind of slides when ur back in horizontal while still going down a bit from the diving maneuver.

This smoothness was not present on the PTS. I think the changes that you made influenced more of the air physics then you anticipated.

Ok so i think i know what you changed and this is my attempt of explaining the way i see it

Lets say you have to scales from 1 to 10
    first scale is mouse movement
    second scale is time

if you move on live serv. on values m4 and t5 you get that movement in a certain way.

on PTS I feel like the second scale (time) is not present anymore. Time has been flated out. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you move mouse or as a matter of fact yaw from keyboard as well (cause it behaves different). It doesn't account for the amount of movement in a certain time. Believe it or not but the most obvious is on yaw (keyboard)

Not sure if this makes sense and hope is helpful.

The only usable airframe right now is hover. I fly with racer mostly and on pts is unusable. while dogfighting it's a nightmare rly.
if i'll think of any other way of explaining this i'll report back. I'll do some more tests.
  10. ReaverUpYour

PS: Give infinite resources for this task cause it's anoying right now. It will be easier for everyone to test this if they had the resources to do so. just an idea.

Has anyone else noticed how you roll when you use "Mouse cockpit freelook"? The way it is now is really bad. If it rolled when you reach the viewing limit ONLY it would be great.
  12. tijolo

I'm sorry for posting so much, but I think there's just one more thing to say. If you could make Yaw on mouse and roll on A and D (a togglable option, maybe?) it would be awesome. It would probably help new players too, makes it easier, doesn't it?
  13. SimoCF

as i said on general feedback, i can`t try at 100% the ESF, when i login i tryed one and he was good, but then the next aircraft i had, they was bugged, i was not able to turn with A and D so just mouse, and W and S.

    quite buggy but not bad

When I noticed a thread about flight control changes and the little text box on the forum side talking about going to PTS and flying for 30mins an aircraft, I got my hopes up. This feels like a troll thread, or a bad surprise gift.

    No mouseyaw option...
No more station cash from me.

If I'm not mistaken, PS4 has different control schemes for flying. I just want a mouseyaw control scheme for PC.

    Galaxy Flight Controls:

As a dedicated Galaxy pilot, the new flight controls are sluggish and unusable with a mouse. I can't put my finger on exactly what made it so but the mouse seemed too insensitive, especially on the vertical axis. Turning up the sensitivity didn't seem to help. All in all, the controls were sluggish and uncooperative.

Frankly, the new flight mechanic sucked the joy out of flying the Galaxy. If the new flight controls were implemented I would unfortunately be forced to leave a game that I dearly love.
  16. BeastBurito

I found that the liberator pitches left and right very slowly. It feels like the galaxy has better maneuverability right now. However other than the that the new flight aesthetic is better.
  17. tomlinkev

I don't have a lot of flight hours, so the controls seem to be the same... felt decent enough.
  18. Risingstorm12

    On the new flight controls:

As a veteran pilot of most aircraft in PS2 (Liberators and ESF's). I think the new flight controls are uncalled for, they feel like you should be using a controller or joystick. I much prefer the old system that we have had forever. It seems that there is a "lag" for the controls, they're more unresponsive, and they fly very weird. Another topic i would like to discuss is the fact that changing your Flight sensitivity will also affect your guns as well. As a Liberator pilot i tend to solo, this new change (if it is that, or just a mistake on PTS) screws up soloing. In order for me to switch to another gun i would have to turn down my sensitivity which in-turn, messes up my flight controls either making them far too low, or too high. And with the sensitivity at my preferred level, the guns have insanely high sensitivity making them impossible to aim.

It is nice to have some different changes in PS2, but for the Flight vehicle control changes, i have to say no, please do not bring this live. I'm sure most pilots will agree with me on this.

With the new controls, landing the Valkyrie is trickier than it should be with Hover Stability Airframe; it feels slippery and uncertain. I tried similar maneuvers with the Evasiveness Airframe, and it landed just fine.
  20. Blaze85

On test server. If you receive critical damage while in a ESF after you repair the landing "gear" of a scythe does not work and the warning sound does not stop at all. The flight controls seems more smother, but (easyer to aim) sometimes pitch up and down does not work.
