The game is flickering constantly, so I thought that I should set Vertical synch. I did, however it didn't solve the problem in the long term, after I relog its fine for about ten minutes, then it begins an incessant flickering, which is annoying and makes the game practically unplayable. any help would be appreciated, this is so annoying
Since it does not happen instantly, that narrows things down quite a bit. However we are lacking information Processor Name: I7? - One can only dream. Ram: 2G+? Graphics Card: Nvidia or Atri? -- Flickering can be due to a bad recently installed update for your graphics card, perhaps you recently installed an update for your card, and it installed improperly? With a lack of power supply- your card may not be getting enough power to run? [Depending on which GFX card you own.] Lacking information. The best advice right now, from the information you gave us, would be to reinstall/update your graphics card. Make sure you have the latest Directx installed

Keep in mind that I can play around 20 minutes or less without this problem. Another problem (Which is probably due to my internet) is other players skipping around and walking in midair, when in actuality they're probably using a jetpack. I have a 650w power supply, its not completely utilized, I am sure. I also validated the files via steam, evidently 150 were invalid and I had to reaquire them. it says everything is okay now.
What kind of flickering are you experiencing? I've been having minor, rare occurrences of a strange flicker where the world repeatedly stops rendering and then re-renders. Light sources and particles are unaffected. After a short while, the game then freezes momentarily, as if to reboot the rendering engine, and then everything runs fine again.
U need to find a view where it isnt flickering, wait 30sec-1min after that its gone. It works for me. Maybe thats a temeporally solution. I have been getting the exact same thing as that video randomly since launch. Mine often directly follows a 5-20 second lockup of the game where the sound still plays in the background but the screen freezes. when it comes back the screen is just gray like that and then gradually as i run arround aimlessly it starts to flicker as it comes back and starts rendering everything again. I am using the latest nvidia drivers released on 20/11/2012, i think they are 310.64 (im at work so can't check right now) and my rig is in my sig. Glad other people are getting it and not just me.
Have the same issue. i dont want to hear about buying new pc or anything about my pc, cause ai play battlefield on high graphic and have 60 fps, so really , its the game.
I found the easiest way was to hit M to bring up the map. The flickering away after a few seconds then. This issue existed during beta. Seemed to of been fixed. Was kind of surprised when it happened again yesterday.
I played all through beta (every day) and never had this problem, until today while playing on the Woodman EU server. My PC components and drivers have not changed since beta. CPU: i7-3770K GFX: GTX 680 RAM: 16Gb OS: Win7 64-bit
I know what you mean, I should be able to run the game on high settings (and I do)....then the flickering starts. It starts regardless of graphics settings. I originally thought I needed vertical synch because it was the referesh rate, but that wasn't the problem evidently.
Hey, I have expierenced this quite alot before the latest patch. It isn´t fixed fully even after the patch but it´s way better than before. Anyway what I have found out is this: When this flicker occurs you can switch onto your desktop with Alt+Tab. Then go back into the game and it might be gone. Today I had this myself and immidiately tabbed out of the game and I saw that my AntiVir was showing an update info on my desktop. I closed the update info, then used Alt+Tab to go back onto my desktop (though I´ve been there already) and then Alt+Tabbed back into the game - and the flickering was gone. It may have been a coincedence but it actually worked so just go ahead and try it. Hope this helps at least a few of you.
I will try it. So far I have been playing for almost two hours and nothing has happened. the settings are maxxed out and the only problems I am getting is when other characters both friendly and enemy are skipping around, it happens with vehicles too. it makes it almost impossible for me to be productive when I can only shoot stationary things such as turrets or stupid people. EDIT:: The flickering started again and I reflexively relogged as opposed to tabbing out like suggested however it did not work to get rid of the flickering, so I am going to ragequit for a while until this problem is resolved.
been getting the same thing, but staring at a good piece of map didnt help, alt-tabbing didnt help, i had no other programs asking for access etc.
I've experienced this flickering quite often and I can say that it is related to server Lag. I only get it when the server is very high population and only under heavy battles. There is usually warping players and flying ground vehicles. I'd call it server Desync. When it is happening deploy back at the warpgate or goto a different continent. it will go away because that area isn't under as heavy load.
It might be related to server lag, however I feel that it is not the cause for me as my 6Mbit connection hasn't gone over 50% use. Whenever I'm hit with the flicker, I can clearly see ANY fire/smoke at a very long distance. Being behind of, inside of, or on the other side of something doesn't matter. At which point my fps begins to drop, looking in an opposite direction of the fire/smoke stops the fps drops, but not the flickers. Shortly there after the game become unresponsive and any sounds go into a loop for for at least 20 sec and up to several minutes. Maybe until the fire/smoke frames have cycled out of view-distance, can't say for sure since they are gone if/when the game becomes responsive again.. At first the terrible lag from the heavy load times on the EU servers got me down, but now I can't even play with 5+ players fighting within shooting range. I don't know what causes it, and I don't like it. CPU: i7-920 @ 3.8Ghz <-stays under 50C GFX: GTX 580 <-stays under 48C RAM: 6Gb OS: Win7 64-bit Servers with issue encountered: EU - Ceres, AU

That's very similar to what I've seen. I suspect since the release there has been some dodgy Screen resolution/refresh rate bug. Aside from that base suspicion I have nothing.
