[Suggestion] Flak buff? Is it time to rebalance tank cannons?

    It would be the trade off for not using nanoweave. I also think they should redesign the bases on Indar and Amerish to be more inline with Esamir, which would help. What if they reduced the splash damage radius on HE to be that of HEAT?

    As much as I hate HE sometimes (especially prowlers) They needa buff. Since the GU a few months back, I rarely see HE anymore. Needs a buff. (I dont use any HE cannons)

    This is a terrible change. Especially if it effects decimator and AP rounds.

    Those two weapons are direct-hit only already. Their hardly explosive except in the effects and sound.

    Until they can fix splash dmg going through shields nothing should be changed ... If/when they get that fixed permanently then it might be a valid discussion ..

    It's a valid discussion now, but I agree that they should fix spawn room shields before they every considered this type of change.

    mbt cannon's should always ohk infantry on direct hit's because it's the principle, anyways tank's have been neutered enough their going to need another Armour buff just to keep up if this goes through and honestly i have no idea why they haven't moved a number of the cap point's underground in a relatively easily defensive point's for the defender's so infantry have their playground no vehicle can touch but leave at least 2 cap point's above ground one in a tower another in a relatively easy place for vehicles to defend so everyone get's their cake.

    also he is useless right now if you think otherwise i have no idea where your getting it from, heat and ap are clear winner's in comparison also if you think getting hit directly by any mbt round shouldn't kill you i am speechless at the idea of that no matter the lvl of flak armour unless your a max but that's the one exception.

    All MBT shells should ohk on a direct hit. It simply is a nobrainer.

    Anything else makes you wonder if the game bugged out or what the hell happened. I mean a shotgun will oneshot but not a goddam TANK MAIN CANNON :D ?

    Tank HEAT and HE need there 1hko blast radius shots back, with the only thing stopping the death being flak armour.

    Give people a reason to take something other than Nanoweave again.

    Esamir is a terrible example of what not to do. The big walls are stupid and hinder infantry combat. All it creates is 2007987897 people on the walls shooting at the defenders.

    My example would be the OLD Crown. It was hard for tanks to spam into the base without being very vulnerable.
    Also that is not a trade off. People use nanoweave to fight infantry. I shouldnt have to wear flak to survive farmers sitting far outside the battle.

    I just want PS1 style tank/infantry interactions instead of these terrible attempts to mash BF3 and Planetside together. It seems like so much to ask.

    In case everyone forgot, vehicles aren't allowed to kill 1337 infantry since this game isn't about Combined Arms.

    I agree.
    So you want all bases to be uphill invincible fortresses? Got it.

    Sounds like a trade off to me. Flak for tanks, nanoweave for infantry. If you are having a problem with tanks and don't want to use flak, you could try killing them?

    The masses shoot back by the way. If you are a sniper the likelihood of getting shot at is small

    Going by your basis, we shouldnt even have vehicles. Vehicles make this game a combined arms
    A tank costs 450 resources!!!! How on earth can you want it to be weaker than infantry.

    I'm of the opinion that HE should either be the following:

    1) The only way to OHK infantry. It sacrifices AV capabilities for this. HEAT shouldn't be so powerful in AI.
    2) AP should be the only way to OHK infantry. HE would be reworked to provide much less splash damage but have a wider splash and faster than HEAT/AP reload. This way they are a suppressive support weapon.

    I'd be interested seeing a reload speed buff to HE and a nerf to its damage to allow it to reach out and hit enemies it normally never could but with greatly reduced splash damage. Make it function like a lasher essentially. Direct Hits wouldn't OHK because than the meta would be using HE to farm because it reloads quicker so more chances to instagib.

    Why not just completely remove combat vehicles from the game? It's what the majority of players actually want, but don't dare to say. AI weapons are in a horrible state atm. Completely useless. Even a HE shell has to be a direct hit to kill Infantry. Every class except the Infiltrator has access to AV weapons, which is ridiculous. Vehicles can get sniped from 600+ meters where infantry doesn't even render, giving no chance to fight back or escape. Lock-on Rocket spam is endless. Dual AV Maxes kill tanks in 1 clip. And on top of that they want to buff Flak Armor so a direct hit from a Tank Shell won't kill? This is insane. On top of all this BS, they are planning to implement Dome Shields on Buildings, rendering aircraft completely useless.

    All that said, there is the Recon Drone coming up. It might or might not have weapons and will or won't be equippable with C4. But what it says to me is that this game is leaning more and more in the direction of COD. They are making infantry stronger and stronger, rendering vehicles useless. From a financial view it's kinda understandable since it's a F2P game and the majority of players are infantry only players which are the majority of Forum Whiners too. (Remember the Golden Rule of PS2? If enough people whine on the Forums, anything will be nerfed.) So SOE decides to give the majority of their "customers" what they want: "Making vehicles no threat at all to Infantry. Infantry>All" The Problem here is that this will turn the game into a massive COD/Battlefield clone, if not worse. These 2 games are already doing a better job than PS2 in their own Style. PS2 choosing that path is just suicide for the PC PS2 Community. That said, the release of PS4 and the releae of PS2 on PS4 is around the corner. I can't stop thinking that "casualizing PS2" is part of the plan making the game suitable for console kiddies. Just like they did to the Battlefield series. It's just my 2 cents though...

    If AP isnt't able to ohk on direct hits anymore any decent tank driver will feel seriously shafted.
    If you manage to directly hit infantry has to die - period.

    Organized mass infantry is allready the hard counter to every vehicle ingame - no need to neuter them any further.

    They should also nerf the tank damage to LIB's with 50% since the Vanguard and Prowler had their projectile speed raised to hit magriders 50% of my lib deaths are because of tank mainguns! (or raise Magriders projectile speed to same level and remove the drop but you wouldnt like that!)

    How about not flying at the low altitude where tanks can shoot you with their main cannon? Then again, you want to shoot infantry that doesn't render at high altitudes. Don't complain about nerfing the already worthless tank cannons, complain about the render distance of the infantry. Increasing the render distance might kill the already low fps, so the best solution would lower the render distance for vehicles to the render distance of the infantry. Simple and efficient solution. Infantry wouldn't be able to snipe vehicles with invisible AV mana turrets/Lancers/Lock on RLs.
