Flak and Lockons everywhere, flying is not fun anymore

    I think that's part of the problem, many pilots think it's meant to be god like easy. They just want hoverspam kills. They only have 1 serious threat to worry about and they want it nerfed to oblivion.

    Now the Liberator on the other hand - that needs some help because Strikers do dominate that aircraft, it can be hit by AV turrets and Phoenixes quite easily and ESFs pick them off. I'd like to see the Liberator being the primary anti-armor vehicle, and the ESF turned into a anti-air and ground strafing vehicle.

    ESFs shouldn't be able to kill armor in 1.5 seconds. It should be the Liberators job to do that, because they have a much closer risk/reward ratio. Currently the ESFs are still the most powerful vehicle in the game, capable of killing anything, able to pick their fights, with multiple ways to escape danger, and all they can do is complain.

    If the AA turds rendered I wouldn't care, but they don't... so it sucks.

    Game design doesn't really let you strafe ground with rockets/bullets/green things. Rocket podding a lone infantryman is stupidly easy and I can't fathom how anyone would struggle with such a thing.

    Projectile AA seems "right on" at this point - 2 MAXes in coordination can effectively provide aerial denial against a small, non-coordinated group of ESFs / Libs. This does not prevent infantries / vehicles getting picked off out of line of sight, nor does it counter a group of ESFs aiming at taking out the maxes, but it is usually "good enough"

    When AA gets heavy, I have plenty of options other than going on foot - I can switch on HE / HEAT tanks and be even more effective at killing things, or go to a less populated continent / base. As long as you can solo and not having squad leader / platoon leader yelling at you for not pulling X, Y, or Z or not being at a certain location, you can still kill many things at your discretion.

    One of many AA's objective is to increase the risk of flying to be just high enough to make flying not worthwhile.

    post edited :#. The only reason why you'd get more points with AA now is if you're in a target rich environment with four other burster buddies. Also they never scaled infantry kills with vehicular destruction which might lend weight to your opinion.

    Don't give me your BS, it isn't a matter of being good, rocket pods fire directly forward and require upwards of 4 hits to actually kill some one, a strafe run where you fly over the infantry and not directly at them is not feasible. It's intentionally not feasible, an actual rocket pod bombing run requires you to fly at your target or hover like an idiot.

    Real strafe runs are the territory of liberators, not rocket pods.

    The only thing that makes them OP is rendering distance. Same with lock on spammers. SOE needs to fix the damn rendering issues to fix AA vs air.

    MAXs OP because it makes TANKS USELESS.

    tanks are meant to carry what CANNOT be carried by foot. How can a big AA cannon be beaten by two SMALL AA guns?

    MAXES get EVERYTHING with NONE of the teamwork. It makes tanks a mockery of the game and a mockery of balance.

    Why even bother having tanks in the game if a MAX can do it ALL and do it BETTER?

    Oh yes 14 MISSILES FOR A SINGLE KILL.

    Know what real pilots do? Snipe with their rotaries. Takes more skill, and less waste of ammo. Only time travelers from launch still pod anything but tanks anymore.

    If I hit something with 14 MISSILES in real life or a game, I would be amazed if it DIDN'T die.

    You do know that you can fire them too while in motion? Come on, it's just LMB. You can even fire them from a distance.
    You have to hover if you expect one attack to equal one kill. And that's your problem.

    What teamwork. An AA lightning is 1/1 too.

    Why even bother having infantry in the game if ESF can do it ALL and do it BETTER?

    P.S.: Enlighten me what a burster MAX can do except firing in the sky. AI damage and hit rate is pathethic.

    Tanks shot in the back would like to have a word with you. 14 missiles or 230 missiles don't matter. It's the TTK that counts.

    Another reason AA MAX are needed.

    If I'd hit an airplane with DEDICATED ANTI AIR WEAPONS I would be amazed if it DIDN'T die fast.

    There must be a huge number of those then, infantry gets podded in every outdoor fight where there aren't a dozen ESFs flying cover, and even then they get drawn off at times. Scythes even try running through infantry at ground level, they don't just ram ESFs.

    I think this was an intentional nerf to air. The rendering purposely pulls air down into the effective ranges of AA lockons and tank shells. I don't see this being "fixed" for balance reasons. Pilots just need to learn to fly higher. The one thing I wish to be fixed is that ESFs should render to other ESFs at longer distances than they do now. Those are our intentional targets? And you don't see them until they are close enough to engage. But that's nitpicky, A2A combat is pretty fine if you have wits about you.

    But you can't see the AA where as they see you, that's the rendering issue I'm talking about. It's complete garbage. I fly and play and AA max and it's completing wrong to be able to fire at air that can't even see where the shots are coming from. And it'd be the same way for infantry if they couldn't see where the rockets are coming from.

    No, you just don't get it. Draw the plane in your first glorious picture a lot more to the RIGHT and voila, your strafing run is actually able to shoot at the enemy - with pods and in motion.

    You come close because you wanted that kill - you die. You fire from a distance because you want to help your team/deter the enemy. You live. It's jsut that easy.

    I really agree on the MAX thing.
    If they're dead, give them a timer to get rezed, die again, gain an even longer timer to rez, and so on until you cannot be rezed anymore.
    Silly to kill 1 MAX and it's up again in 2 seconds.

    They should just change Striker from lock on to something else.
    And MAX shouldn't be able to resurrect every time its killed. Even in infantry only combat, resurrecting MAXes are super lame
