Flails are destroying the game

    Played on Oshur where we tried to rush a hill. Enemy team had so many Flails in range that they literally bombarded us every 5-10 seconds. I'm not joking. Needless to say, we didn't get anywhere, and also... this is BORING AS HECK!!!

    You need to address this since the answer would be to take them down with aircraft's. But they are impossible to control, and tanks can't reach because of the high cliffs. Oshur is the worst continent you've created due to it's lack of accessibility. So while you're at it... take a look at the terrain, 'cause this isn't working. A LOT of people plainly hate to play Oshur.

    Jokes aside, flails and glaives are being completely neutered soon, so you’re going to get part of what you want.

    I assume you're not looking at the chat then while playing Oshur? People are constantly remarking how bad this continent is.

    Bro, you're coping so hard about Oshur; it's a pretty garbage continent that was, and still is, a large part of the population loss.

    It was so bad that even Wrel said they fked up with it (after trying to gaslight the community about 'echo chambers' for like half a year).

    Oh no, if only there was a way to stop the Flails from firing! It's not like Oshur is 70% water and all that's needed to stop the Flails is to simply stop staying rigidly in the center of the map! If only it were possible to drive an armor zerg underwater and steamroll any offending base! I totally understand what you're trying to say – Flails are too mobile, we need to nerf their top speed so they can't outrun a bus 20 minutes late with an engine failure!

    Did you know the WASD keys make you move around to avoid flail fire? i cant remember the last time i died to a flail yet i always see people complaining about flails. Learn their range, be inside that range where they cant shoot, or simply go kill it, they are super easy to kill. problem solved

    Flails are only an annoyance in Oshur.
    Not a problem in the other continents (mostly).
    However, that's Oshur being a sorry excuse for a continent, not a problem inherent to the Flail.

    As I have reiterated in past posts, Oshur takes what we hate most about the game (the constant choke-pointing, funneling, confining geography) to a newer level. Oshur nowadays can be summarized with the word donut. Why? because the fights are all on the ring of that center archipelago. The reason Flail is particularly effective on Oshur, is because there is very little room to run away from it if you are in that donut. Being in the donut can make it worse if:
    • Incompetent friendly builds a terrible base that funnels friendlies through an artificial chokepoint.
    • Preponderance of friendly Sunderers/armor leaving little room to maneuver.
    • The fact that the middle fight is ALWAYS a three-way battle that discourages one side from pushing without incurring heavy losses.
    And for those of you suggesting to move through the water, don't forget that these archipelagos have very tall 90-degree slopes for a coast. It's not like it is always feasible (it already isn't desirable because water slows you down and makes gameplay boring).

    Ah yes, those mythical 90° slopes! Completely untraversable by any ground vehicle ever conceived! Except the Corsair and all the tanks willing to drive down or around. And those boring 30-second drives underwater! How could people that drive a tank for 300 seconds from the Warpgate to the Crown possibly cope with such downtime!

    I agree 100%. The flail and orbitals spam is outright ridiculous. It's hard enough to stay alive with the hoards of stalkers running around. That nonsense, plus what they did to the spawn system, was it for me.

    Flail and Glaive role could be combined to deal EMP damage which somehow deals solid damage to structures and vehicles but not infantry - just gives EMPish screen maybeeee? Maybe Flail removed and that is Glaive. Or as we get laser target for Flail, it might require to be also locked on a player construction to fire?

    Also I controversially suggest for Orbital Strikes to deal e.g. 20% of its damage and provide the 'safe fall' effect like dropping from Galaxy. Farmers gonna cry but this would be funny at least. People can redeploy when flying away and still can be used to move allies and enemies tactically. Push power could be doubled. Damage to construction could stay intact.
