FIX THE PERFORMANCE ISSUE, I WANT OMFG BACK

Looks like you got a lemon pc or something. Funny story, on my pc I get a steady 60-90fps two gtx 660ti's in sli. My gf's pc who has the exact same specs as mine but ones off only one 660ti is lucky if she even breaks 30fps. I tried for months to figure what was wrong on hers but eventually gave up out of frustration and no one else seeming to know how to help either. It is what it is I guess :(

update: tried turning off the shadowplay helped a lot,but im not pretty sure since the stutter might happend again since it happend before i got the shadowplay
  3. Codex561

Im a br... uhh... 87 I believe (check my sig if to check) and I never, I mean NEVER exceeded 25FPS
  4. Tommyp2006

I get about the same performance you do. Shadows stop rendering like that because that's how they limit shadow settings. They don't actually change the quality of the shadows within that range, within that range shadows look the same on all settings, but which setting you use determines how far away shadows render, with ultra being full distance.
  5. Cinnamon

My performance is ok but with the number of tweaks I have made to settings and the rituals I go through to start up the game it's like voodoo or something.

And why are you guys talking about shadows, this game has no shadows, are you mad?

It has lost of shadows. It's funny that you see everyone's except your own though.

Yeah, my performance is out of whack too. Overclocked 3570k and GTX780, so I get nice 60-80 FPS most of the time, but they don't feel like 60-80 FPS, and more like 30-40.

Today shot a badly hurt guy with a commissioner, but he didn't die, so I prepared to take a follow up shot, and THEN he died from the first shot, 200-300ms later. I guess that's normal for 100-150ms ping I usually have, but holy **** should I even have such a high ping? It's not like I'm playing from freaking Japan.

Enemy heavies feel like they have double the normal HP, not even counting the overshields. Two knife swings are 1000 damage, add a few 167 bullets from the Cougar and that should be more than enough to drop a heavy, but it rarely works out.

I don't use shadow play, because every time I hit "save last few recorded minutes" my FPS dies for a minute or two, but the captured video has awesome quality, very smooth, goddamn I have no idea why don't I get the same picture in game. It's like the game itself is fine, but the mechanism that governs the delivery of rendered frames to the monitor is at fault. This does sound like a driver issue, maybe I should revert to older drivers after all.

I play on all ultra, so maybe I should tone down a few settings, but I'm a sucker for pretty picture, so there's that. Besides, seeing enemy shadows often turns out to be an advantage for me.
  8. Iridar51

Derp. I forgot I tweaked my UserOptions.ini file to have even higher ultra settings. Set back everything to just "ultra", rolled back to 332.21 drivers, added PlanetSide 2_x64.exe to the driver profile via nVidia Inspector, tweaked nVidia control panel to disable all kinds of anti aliasing (not that actually does anything ) and set pre-rendered frames to 1.
Went to the nearest big battle, luckily the Crown had 48+/48+ battle at 3 AM for some reason, and voila - silk smooth 60 FPS that actually feel like 60FPS.
    So yeah, derp that.

    "I am running an i5-4670k and a 760 and I get 70-90 FPS."
"I'm running a 3770k with a 560Ti. I run on all high settings, smooth play."
"Looks like you got a lemon PC or something."
    "OCd 3570k and GTX780, 60FPS."
    "i5 3570k and 770, ultra settings."
"Min 30FPS, on highest. Shadows are high instead of ultra and models are on low. i7 2600k, 660,12GB"

I've got a 3770 @ 3.6, 16GB, 680GTX SLI. I get down to an average of 12 FPS in large fights(From about 180 to 60 depending), with all settings off or low except Graphics, Textures and I think I've got Render at 100? That's about it. This is an over and over freshly formatted, properly set up, nothing wrong, healthy PC where I have checked all components one by one and on different PCs too just to make sure. My other PC, is a single 480 with 6GB and a lower I7. It gets a lot less max FPS, but the same minimum. Power supply is good, this and that is good, I've checked EVERYTHING, I've tried different settings ETC ETC. And yet I still have the same problem for as long as I can remember. Some improvements were made with OMFG but after that it got a lot worse and most importantly, it's gotten as unstable as going from 200 to 12 as mentioned.

By "Large Fights" I mean Alerts on a busy Hex. So really, I can't actually enjoy PS as it should be played.

So, you people either exaggerate about your specs, about your FPS, about your settings or you are leaving out details(Is that WG FPS? Or normal play FPS? Just an example!) or I should get a priest here and perform a double exorcism. All components were triple checked, I have verified they are authentic even, all that I could do I have done. There is NOTHING WRONG with any of my PCs, they run EVERYTHING fine. Let's face it, if performance for you is so solid then why did we even need OMFG? :p Doesn't make sense. In any case I'm not calling you liars straight off but this all looks a bit off to me.

They aren't exxagerating. I got 40fps average on my sub-par Win8 store-bought Laptop with a 2.4ghz dual-core. On my actual machine, it never even hiccups. Ever.
  12. Kunavi

I can already see it : "Your PC SUCKS/Is old, your ISP sucks, you suck, it's all on your end YADDAYADDA"... Sorry but that's BS after 1 YEAR of looking into this and actively trying to fix it. There is ZERO evidence there is anything wrong on my end. So yes SOE needs to better optimize PS2 and run more OMFG, if PS2 works OK for you I'm glad it does but this is not PS4 and it needs to run just as nice on my rig, if I've done all I could apart from blowing away 2000$ just to play PS2 on High @ 40FPS constant. And I'm not saying I'm entitled to better treatment but I actually am still paying for this #$&*( so they might as well decide to fix it.

Right so then explain how I'm getting these results with these systems(ONLY IN PS2!). Please, by all means point out the problem. And don't, at this point, even try to tell me I should format again. :)

I basically just gave you the set up of both my PCs up there, the PS2 settings I use on them and considering that for 1 year as I said I've determined with certainty it's nothing to do with HW or configuration, power ETCETC, I'm expecting there is some magic little trick with the INI that will make it all work.
Well, not really, I already pointed what kind of replies I expect because that's what I've been getting. And I have tweaked the INI too. So I've just dealt with the fact I'll have to play like this.
Yesterday during an Alert I had to run SG duty because the moment I would even look at a busy place I would lose more than 60-80FPS no matter where I was. So I just kept the sky clear.
But if you all are saying that with inferior systems you get vastly superior performance I have to drop in and tell you how off it sounds or that at the very least, SOE has done F*d up with PS2 in particular.

It looks like ZeroErrorz got an error ;)

Just so I know, what driver version do you currently have?
  15. ZeroErrorz

    nvidia driver 337.88
  16. ZeroErrorz

dude i spent 21k on the rig alone, i got a i7 3770k,gtx 680 and 6 gigs of ram,as for the stutter it mostly happen when im flying and changing area (from low/empty pop hex to high pop hex).
  17. Slaughter919

Jeeze 2.1k for that rig? For $1000 I got a 24 inch wide screen HD monitor, a I5 4440, GTX 760 3GB 192bit version, 8GB 1600MHZ ram, upgradeable to 16GB, Wireless, 1TB Hard Drive, etc... Regardless, I would roll back some of your drivers as some of the newer NVidia drivers cause some really bad hitching and stuttering problems. Also look for any third party programs that may be running or viruses you may have come across *Alt-Control-Delete*. Do a Disk Cleanup and Defragment.

It's like he's trying to communicate with us, I just KNOW it. ;)
  19. Kaktwox

Fitting that biggest hyped event in this game's history (yesterday's Server Smash) was ultimately decided by lag and PS2's poor performance.
