[Suggestion] Fix the most consistently annoying part of PS2

There are many great parts of PS2 (sneaking up behind a battle tank throwing down three tank mines under his fat behind, setting them off with a sticky grenade and doing a little dance on the wreckage comes to mind).

However, there are also several annoying aspects to PS2... libs and ESFs farming infantry, C4 fairies if you're a tanker or sundie driver, etc.

The one aspect of PS2 that is the most consistently annoying to me is the snipers perched everywhere, waiting for anyone to access a vehicle terminal, repair a turret, exit a doorway or stand still a minute outside anywhere. restlessly moving back and forth at all times when not indoors is absurd, but necessary in order to avoid the guy with the long rifle blowing your head off from 300m.

Do i have any desire to spend time hunting the sniper down when there are 15 more to replace him if i do find him? nope. do i have any problem with an infiltrator sneaking into a base and shooting me face to face with an smg? nope... at least he's giving me a fighting chance.

SUGGESTION: get rid of long range snipers by significantly nerfing long range sniper rifles... this one change would improve game play in PS2 dramatically.

btw, i understand it takes skill to be a successful long range sniper... it also take skill to be a successful tele marketer, but they're annoying also and should not be included in PS2.

Maybe small shields around terminals that shield against sniper fire?.

My body is ready and i'm wearing flame ******ant clothing.

The troll bait is strong with this one.

    Wait...are you serious?

Just because you're annoyed by it doesn't mean it should be removed. Snipers are important in punishing reckless infantry and sniping pesky AV HAs and AV turrets. Also, many find sniping fun (who cares, I know).

If they kill you on a terminal, pay attention to your damage indicator and the death map. If you need a better idea, purposefully let them kill you for a better grasp on direction. Then go hunt them down. In a tree on Hossin or something? Counter-snipe.

A long time ago, with nanoweave (as in, dedicating what could have been used for faster shield regen, more ammo, more grenades, etc.) a player could reduce the OHK range of the BA down to 75m or so. Of course, snipers being as entitled as they are (like air cav) complained and complained and complained about how dumb it was they had to get so close to snipe someone, arguing it took skill to head shot someone from 100m+. Anyone bloke can shoot and hit someone at 300m with a sniper rifle... It's not hard.

And then DGC caved. Because this game is built for the bads, not for good game play. Now instead of demonstrating actual skill in surviving, they need only demonstrate skill in patience when looking through a scope for stationary target, and in accurately compensating for drop. Meanwhile, the rest of the infantry game requires actual situational awareness to survive. If you're playing HA, it takes a little less, but HA can STILL be side blinded. Infils are much, MUCH harder to flank as they have the tools to see hostiles coming, and an active cloak to make pinpointing them super difficult over distance. As if that's not bad enough, thanks to lag and server packet rates, they can let loose a round before they even fully materialize on the other guy's end.

Fortunately, most of them are bads, never use their motion spotting tools, and often stick to a single perch for easy counter-sniping (of course, they can do these things because most players are bads and don't bother tracking tracers.) But yeah... these guys got OHK any-range simply because development doesn't think about actual counter-play scenarios. Ever. And thus why it's always going to be the lesser Battlefield game.

Also why semi-autos went from a some-what okay option to complete, utter trash.

And that's just one reason balance and competitive play is a f***ing joke in PS2.

NOOOO!!!!....OMG, I LOVE camping vehicle terminals with my stalker cloak & Blackhand (#truth, because: Blackhand + stalker = OP, and tears of rage are delicious)...ohh..wait..you said *long range sniper rifles*, hmm. OK.
