Ok, you are right, it does make sence to first read and then flame... Oh I should have read that earlier, would have been much healthier for my bloodpressure. Anyways, to flame is important, wouldnt be Planetside style, wasnt that hard of a flame though. But thanks...
Thanks man, i was about to throw my ******* keyboard and mouse because of that, trying to shot and cloack uncloak bug over and over, dying like a ****... I spend too much time playing infiltrator the old way for trying a new system.
Daybreak Coder Lordcosine is working on a fix for it. Conversation on Reddit Apparently he was surprised we could tell a difference since they are supposed to be functionally the same. However there is undeniably a delay on our first shot. I was even able to produce bug footage for him that includes an error sound. The error sound doesn't happen all the time if fires "duds" but its clear something isn't right. Just disable it for now but once Lordcosine gets it fixed up it should be fun to use.
Its nice to know they are now aware of its "difference" I'm a luddite, so I wont be touching any code, I'd just **** it up. I'm learning to adapt until its realigned. Sometimes it mess up and its like I'm not even uncloaking when I shoot.
did not know about this new change and i thought those unwanted decloaking was a bug. "themoreyouknow"
... For real? Check your ignorance please... Fire to Declaok functions the exact same as it always has. You click a key, and the client will decloak you. Just the same as when you click the decloak key, and the client decloaks you. Only difference is noobie infiltrators won't have to fumble to find the decloak key, they can push fire instead which will ask their client to decloak instead. Only once cloak has dropped from their bodies can they actually begin to fire. It doesn't shorten the process of decloaking itself. Please explain how this will be "OP" . No damage increase occurs. The new feature simply lowers the skill ceiling (which is already pretty damn high for this class) and makes it more appealing to new players. They will be punished less when responding to situations where they have been fired upon. It doesn't make the weapons better, it simply removes a skill barrier on newer players. The new player more time to think about what their plans / tactics will be instead of what keys they need to press for their opener. Fumbling around as a newbie to perform basic actions is a problem no other class has to deal with but infiltrators who cannot re-actively respond to threats without first de-cloaking. New players specifically are butchered for this inconvenience until they learn muscle memory to do it instinctively. All this change does is remove that requirement. It does not fundamentally change the class. Everything you could do prior to the changes is still possible (- bugs) and everything you can do after the changes was possible prior to its implementation.
Sorry but i thought that if u are using a Phaseshift on charge mode u will be OP. Sorry for think wrong Ms.CuteBeaver.
Sorry for the snippy response I'v just been dealing with Heavy after Heavy and friends who do not actually understand the changes and automatically begin jumping to the conclusion that this somehow drastically buffs or changes our class. If your sensing anything from me it is essentially pure frustration. Its feels like when Bill Nye went on The Nightly Show but worse.
How about you just add crysis cloak, you can fire when cloaked but this drains more energy... Simple fix and buff to infiltrator.
Oh snap. I've been struggling with this for a little while now since playing auto scout infil more here lately. I approach an enemy, decloak and then recloak, moving side to side like a ****** only to die to my enemy, then confused and frustrated as to what is going on. So glad I saw this thread!
dude, you don't need to accept the change and there's a way to deactivate it... open the game directory, open the user options file, under the heading of [general] change "DecloakOnFire=1" to "DecloakOnFire=0", then save and exit.
I am loving this change. I still get fumbled up by the cloak/decloak mixup since I am still getting used to not manually doing it. However, the majority of the time, this makes it so much easier for me to get kills. I can line up my shot, be it with smg or sniper rifle, and unload on my target without having to worry about hitting my decloak button. One key 2 functions...I'd take its ease of use any day.
This would explain why my crossbow ambushes seem to have been missing the "crossbow" part Couldn't get why the thing wasn't firing after a seemingly well-timed decloak-fire procedure!
