This relates to the Diver Propulsion Device (DPD) that goes into your Tactical Equipment slot which essentially enables the player to swim on Oshur. Diver Propulsion Device (DPD) After personally speaking to a multitude of players while in-game, the consensus is that the Diver Propulsion Device (DPD) should have been an item available to all players by default so they can swim. First, all players should have the DPD unlocked by default. Second, players find it acceptable that the DPD can be upgraded via certs to improve its duration and/or efficiency. Third, players have also commented that the DPD should automatically be part of the player's inventory when on Oshur, similar to the presence of Spawn Beacons while in a squad. It was an outright mistake to deny players the DPD as a default item. There's even players whom I have encountered that own it, yet they often forget to equip it while playing on Oshur. They find it a tedious inconvenience to remind themselves to constantly change their equipment whenever they unexpectedly have to go for a swim. I am going to presume that this is one of the reasons why players often have a negative experience on Oshur - all because they are often caught without the necessary tools to participate in a water environment. For the sake of quality of life improvements for Planetside, this needs to be addressed...
