Farming Newbies Etiquette

Considering that most players quit before br15 anyway, it should be called "server load reduction" instead of farming.

I don't think there is an etiquette to farming newbies. I suppose if you were concerned that you were farming them then I'd suggest make the fight over quickly, push them out, and move on.

    Yes, that was the fight!!!

Well, a sort of happy ending after all, if they did take the base...

I did have an experience like this. I basically just toned myself down. I played less effective classes, overstretched a ton, etc. to both make it easier for them and make it a challenge for me.

Alts usually have a high directive score. I don't make any inference on the BR rank. But if they are making mistakes that should be avoided, I'll send a tell.

Meh... I sometimes send a tell to point out the obvious mistakes, but otherwise I shoot them all the same.

I'd like to see some objective stats on the average player skill level before and after the patch.

How many people were really using it? Is the improvement seen by some players merely placebo?

More often then not, my issue with players in PS2 came from the obscenely laggy Euro/Asian playerbase on Connery rather then players with questionable aim.

I don't like using KDR as a stat.. but it can show improvements or trends if used properly. In this case my Engineer is pulling 1.75-2.5 when it normally doesn't do that. I'm winning more firefights with the AMC at 50m+ then before (effectively doing what the weapon is supposed to be doing). And a friend of mine who never pulled a 1 KDR, is now pulling over 1 KDR on his medic.

I'd like to see the objective stats too. I can only say what it feels like to be happening, and much of the 'stats' I quoted there could be coincidence. I'll freely admit that. But right now. it does feel night and day.

Another factor could be simply that there's been an update -assuming there is a great quantity of low-level hackers at least- New updates break any previously made hacks.

Just the thought of PS2 updating every week with some useless garbage just to force script kiddies to work around the clock to keep their downloaded skill running fills my salt reservoirs to the brim.

I was speaking of the recent fix to hit box editing. The difference between this 'exploit' (kinda more of an exploit than a hack) and normal hacks is that one doesn't require someone to need to go to a shady site and download potentially harmful software or even have to pay for it.

They just extract a file from an archive file, edit it in notepad, then save it. No risk, absolutely free, and who knows how undetectable or widespread.

When I saw the video showing what this could do, things started clicking. My performance took a down turn about a month ago. I didn't know if it was just the flow of battle or what. But it always seemed like it was an uphill battle fighting people, even in 1v1 encounters. I'm not a newbie, not a scrub, and this isn't my first rodeo. But I couldn't explain this.. rut I guess I could call it, that I was in.

Then I saw that video and I was making connections. But I wanted to wait and see till after the patch which was last Thursday, would do to fix it.

Now I'm whupping some absolute freaking butt here. I know a 2.5 session KDR doesn't sound like much for some. But compared to before.. its night and day. Its like an ascendance. And I haven't been trying to go for KDR. I just do like I normally do. Join a squad with some outfit mates or a open squad and just go take bases like I normally do. I pretty sure if I went for kills with a HA or LA and focused on that, I could pull a 3 or 4. And that's kinda of unreal for me.

I don't know how else to explain it other than some people's 'toys' got taken away and the playing field is now more even, and I'm better than I gave myself credit for.

Maybe it's obvious to you, but inexperienced players don't know what to watch out for. They don't know to check the world map frequently, or what to look for. They don't know about the futility of fighting overpop or spawn room farming. There are four enormous maps. They haven't visited all the bases, let alone know the common Sundie spots, travel lanes and death zones, turrets, generators, terminals, and jump pads for each base. They don't know about squad redeployside, MAX crashes, Gal drops, and intentional farming.

Some people WILL notice chat, so go ahead and /re or proximity chat "We've been back-capped for the last three minutes, you literally can't capture this base. We could use you in the other fight."
Or /say "Can we get an ammo Sunderer over here? It's only 50 certs..."
Or /yell "We have nothing better to do than keep you spawn trapped until the timer finishes, you may as well redeploy."
