In all seriousness, I sometimes kinda envy players on Waterson after hearing about the realtive lack of drama/h8/trash talk there compared to what I've experienced on Mattherson. I luv the Matth competition but the lack of maturity expressed in /YELL etc can get tiresome....

I remember the first and only time I was ever on mattherson. I was really new to the game and I was like "wow this place is cool!". Then someone started spamming "ginyu force rules!" in the chat. I made a new char on waterson and never looked back.

Mattherson is gimmicky and spoonfed by developers as a recommended server for at least 2 months.

Waterson simply survive by being beast.

@OP. Waterson is more about killing and farming and less talking lol. Also, NC and TR don't let the Vanu in Waterson get all uppity and stuff. That spamming bs wont' work in Waterson, you'll be obliterated.

Waterson has been for months now, NC vs TR while Vanu is ignored in the corner. TR is well known to throw away an alerts so us NC won't get points, while Vanu caps empty bases and win. That's how deep the animosity is.

The Vanu are getting alot new recruits though because of the faction recommendation system. They are always second in population to TR now. So, it's much harder to avoid Vanu than it used to.

I'm surprised people pay attention to chat. I'm too busy killing mans and listening to outfit to notice it.

It's good to try and make an alt character on another server. It's always interesting to play another faction.

If you want a good laugh, look up the players in question who make claims about Ginyu and their forces. It all starts making sense...

Totally agree, VS was the obvious minority sitting at the high twenties even during peak times. The only way they could ever win an alert was due to the NC & TR locking horns the entire time. Leaving the VS to ghost cap the entire continent. Since SOE made Waterson a recommendedserver for VS they got a massive spike in pop, sometimes they'd even have more than the TR (who I would give a slight edge in population overall on Waterson)

I would say Waterson is a well balanced server, not a single faction has ever captured all 6 biolabs/techplants and rarely is a faction Warpgated.

Side note; I think prime-time during alerts is when you should judge how well that server is balanced.

Waterson is pretty balanced these days, during alerts winning faction will be ganked by the other two until the lead position changed hand. It's challenging and fun.

After primetime Waterson becomes overrun with Euro-Terrans, which is probably why people say it's a predominately TR server, but lately, during primetime, the populations are fairly even.

Welcome to the red tide. I hope you find the fun you were looking for. If you want to consistently win or do organized group play you may want to look at TRAF for an outfit. We do stuff every night and have leave games for fun sometimes (flash races and stuff like that.)

I find it the other way around.
Especially easy to farm NC,TR, and VS on Matterson.

Funny, most others see the NC as the ghost cappers who avoid fights, at least, that is what many VS players see.

Scumbag OP leaves VS Mattherson just as the population goes from VS domination to being balanced, to join the overpop faction on another server.

So you can't get enough trash talk while playing on Matherson, so you come to the forums to trash talk everyone who plays on Waterson? Nice try.

NUC and TIW are two of the better outfits in planetside both competing on Waterson. Plus there are a wide range of great outfits to choose from. Sex drugs and lasers comes to mind for VS, as does IR and the Quiet professionals on TR. this is without mentioning the large, highly organized outfits like TRAF, ODAM, EZC, PHX, ect.

Everyone wants to believe their server is the most challenging/difficult but they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

I have main alts on both servers and can agree to a certain extent, but for me the only time I look at chat is during downtime like babysitting spawns until capture or waiting for a gal drop to mobilize, it's during these times especially during alerts that I miss Matherson more, especially after a few beers or whatever.

Not sure if the trash talking nature of that server is a remnant of the BCP days, but its like a minigame for some of these guys. I could care less its just a game, but if it raises the competitive nature then I'm all for it. But sadly thats not always the case when certain people get butt hurt and then decide to take it to the next level by hacking or switching factions to TK sundies and that kind of unsportsmanlike shenanigans is why I have alts on both servers.

ODAM and organized do not belong in the same sentence.

Mattherson hasnt been a competitive server for months, not since the VS population spiraled out of control.

Maybe if you compare them to a purely members only outfit, but they have open platoons where anyone can join running just about around the clock, basically herding cats and Ive yet found an 'open' outfit that is more organized then them across 3 different servers and I jump around alot of open outfits from time to time just to see what they are about or to switch things up or whatever. Don't get me wrong there are many outfits that are superior that have open platoons available from time to time, but if you check the open list on TR Waterson on any given day/time you will always find an open platoon or 2 unless they are all full. certain people like to knock ODAM for whatever reason, but always fail to mention that fact.

Between Connery, Waterson, and Mattherson, Connery has hands down the best community. Pretty much every time I see an alert end, everyone's almost always being very sportman-like (and, from the VS perspective, sportmanship is pretty much guaranteed if JENKMAN is in the region - but I'm sure TR and NC have their own prominent nice-guys)

Waterson's not bad, way better than Mattherson's that's for sure, but there still seems to be more tension in Waterson than there is Connery. (and it makes it hard for me to decide if I should reroll on Waterson due to it giving me best ping )
