i know that by posting this it will happen a lot more but it needs to be fixed the launchpads at for example a biolab always have landing pad. when a MANA turret is placed on the landing pad, it will instantly kill anyone who tries to land on it. though im not sure if it gives any points to the engineer placing it
Strafe while jumping and you can avoid the landing pad. In fact, depending on the exact jump you can land as far away as the middle of the air pad in one of the BioLab jumps.
I remember reading from a SOE community rep that this is not considered an exploit, for whatever reason.
Yup, I always do it, but sometimes it cause I die because of fail from high ground. But the launchpad is very funny, if you are flying to higher place, but you make it drop yourself at the slope(after you drop the grenade in the air), you will not die.
I believe that they're looking to disable the jumpads for attackers in the roadmap; if that happens, this will more or less vanish on its own. Was bought up in another thread recently; apparently it's not an exploit, but a valid use of the in-game physics model. Engineers get kill credit (including grief from teamkills) if they've used the turret; if they've just placed it and run off they get nothing. The pads that allow this are generally shortcuts, other routes exist (such as teleporters, elevators, galaxies, or just legging it over the terrain), so the primary means of 'surviving' seems to be to secure the landing area through other means, then use the pads for travel only. Once they're disabled, you'll be wholly reliant on those other means anyway, so it makes sense to start practising them now.
Just go back to it as light assault, before you land on it, hover above it using jet packs, place C4 on top of turret while hovering and detonate.
