expanded cap time....

    seriously guys.....why did you made the cap time of a base almost 3 times longer.....it will take more then 10 min to capture a base instead of like 5 or less....:mad:
    also lots of people are saying that it is just boring when no 1 is around....its to boring to cap it...:(
    please make this back to normal...o_O
    lots of people and me would realy approve it :)

    I just do not have now the patience to cap or to regain full control. Action over? Redeploy.

    I will not stand for 5-6-10 minutes just to get a few hundred XP.

    i don't understand why they put the new cap times in without putting the not needing people on points change. it was a bad idea on the PTS, and it's a bad idea now.

    It extends exciting battles. If you kick a large enemy force out of a base they have time to attack you from a neighbouring base and retake control. That's the theory, in practice most people don't do this. A variety of player made reasons and the hex system diluting the defeated team are most likely to blame.

    When the lattice system comes into play (asap please) then hopefully more people will use a counter attack and capping a base once you have defeated the defenders will not means sitting round waiting, but setting up and deploying an active defence.

    BTW the new bases on test are a lot easier to defend with infantry alone.

    As it stands the new cap times are great, its always good to destroy enemy armour and especially their air when they fly over to leach the xp from a main base cap. Now my platoon gets longer to shoot them down, blow them up and knife afk infantry.

    So, all you really want is fast capture xp..
    Everyone want everything as fast as possible these days

    I WELCOME this change, cause it will lead to bigger and better battles since the fight wont be over in 5 minutes

    This whole "steady" 2k xp for base capture should be removed and put in a variable xp depending on the fight that occured during the capture

    yeah thats nice if you have a organised force and not a bunch of 15 year olds with hormone probs and 20 year old stoners as your team Im not wasting 10 minutes capping something

    I have to keep saying this in different threads because... because.

    2 hours stuck in Quartz Ridge trying to cap it is NOT fun. It is boring, and I logged off because of it. Normally I'd play for far longer.

    Not only that, but in that time, the map barely changed at all... it was static. The game seemed dead and broken. Change this Sony, change it NOW please. (God I hate moaning and whining about a game... but hey, F*** it.)

    The most fun we had in PS1 were when timer was about to end, cause people would leave early and if there had been no fights in the base area (SOI) there would be no XP (not carebear mode like in PS2)
    We would drop a few gals on their head and retake the base with seconds to spare

    This is what people should be doing in PS2. Many times I see the enemy 'defending' a base with multiple squads, all in the spawn room. If they were not so lazy or whatever then they could have spawned at another base, attacked the spawn campers and saved the base. Extended timers give people even more opportunity to do this. Also it makes ghost and ninja capping a base much harder.

    With these ridiculous cap times I've noticed some things. Being gridlocked near the warpgate by 2 faction alliance is 10x worse and 100x harder to break out of. Also, what happens a lot, you're a part of a huge zerg that takes the base in 30 seconds of fighting and then has to wait for the cap to get any xp is so boring.

    This change makes defending a border MUCH easier. It's to the point where there's little reason to bother with it since the punishment for not defending a border takes so long to even matter.

    The most frustrated I've been was when there was one big 2 faction fight waaay off to the east where they weren't even guarding their borders. We ghost-capped from our warpgate to the crown and got bored and left. We could have pushed all the way to an opposing warpgate but getting to an undefended base and standing around for the cap for an exaggerated amount of time is absolutely no fun. Most of us took the shortest route to the big fight off in the east but it still took close to 2 hours of spawn camping basically undefended bases.

    The cap times are great leave them alone they bring so much to the game that the ADD cod kiddies don't understand. Onwards SOE keep your course and ignore the whiners who just want to run into the arms of hackmaxes repeatedly till mummy says bed time.

    I do not like the long cap times. I would like to see the numbers on-point mean something again. I wouldn't mind a minimum and/or maximum cap time, but this 10 minutes thing is a bit much. Waiting for the 15 min cap in PS1 was just awful.

    This is for the best. Standing on the point was lame. They do need some adjustments however.

    The other day a platoon of TR were attacking a base, and we were actually able to redeploy in time to save it, fight them off, and begin an absolutely insane siege that lasted for like 30 minutes. Multiple times.

    Sorry, but the cap mechanic changes are pretty great.

    anything that gets rid of impatient players is all good in my book. A few weeks back someone posted how waiting 10 seconds to spawn was too long - i mean seriously lol w.t.f.

    Good, hope they all leave and we get a more mature game - their must easily be 100,000 mature patient players out there - right now PS2 servers couldn't handle 20,000 players - is it 2000 per server?

    Yeah i dont really like the new capture times , i liked it better before .

    But its for the best , to make a better more fair game .
