On Colbalt , your right. Nothing to see apparently. My point in emphasizing the part OS will do when the changes come, along with the Flail, pain spire's, and routers are game changers. You won't be 'bypassing' PMB's anymore. Construction Engineer specialists are in the light now.
  2. LordKrelas

So you're essentially, hoping from this I gather, that people orange rocks can force people into one-sided meat grinders, for easy certs?
So either grind into an automated self-repairing wall, or die to it.
Lovely, concept: Avoid main game, to force complete control over anyone who actually play the main game by those ignoring it.
  3. VhynSeven

From what I saw, it is not as "game changing" as you try to make it sound like.
First of all, your OS-stuff is labelled as a loophole, an abuse of the game mecanics. Flail has a long delay before firing, Pain Field is mostly an anti-stalker module, and the Router is just another spawn beacon.
  4. FateJH

I think calling it "the main game" is unnecessarily insulting to the developers who seem to desire to make construction a part of the game that can stand evenly alongside what is already being played.
  5. LordKrelas

Considering it's as far from the Primary & original part of the game, and involves being as distant from traditional game-play as possible, to build an automated grinder, with the intent of forcing others into with as few people required to guard it....

I think calling the Lattice, the Main game, is a bit appropriate, since construction resembles a mini-game & nothing like the original game-play, nor has any part in it, unless forcing itself down the throat of anyone not mining orange rocks

As putting an un-stoppable only delay-able Victory point generator, that profits from being glitched into the ground, that has less effort needed to stock-pile Victory points that can not be lost, is very bloody insulting to anyone who worked to secure VP's via the Lattice.
You gain a VP, you have to keep an increasing amount of bases.
Hives? You feed it cort, and you gain a VP, you never expand the work load, you just get more & more via a factor of time alone.
That's pretty insulting, to hand a better reward to less work, for greater profit, and ensure anything less than an Hive is inferior.

I usually say, Lattice game-play, or original game-play.
But considering that the number of superior defensive tools, keep growing for PMB's, while the Lattice gets Jack all..
While people complain that multiple MBT's aren't bested by lone wolves building automated turrets...
That calling the original game-play, the Main-Game, seems a bit appropriate.
  6. FateJH

Even the Lattice is preceded by the Pure Hex System. To some extent, the Pure Hex System is even preceded by Beta Crown. That's the original gameplay. Gameplay will change. It will be a painful change; but, in this case, the change is still tainted by an uneasy caution. While the lattice possessed a deal of support it had an equal amount of detractors and even to this day some who still play felt it was a massive disservice. It is an argument that is neither here nor there. The only question really is how much agency will be juggled by the Construction System until it stifles in a way that isn't unavoidable to those who follow the roads and highways.

Saying that this game is "X" and never "Y" is a reflex reaction borne of the sort of person who originally felt this game was turning too much like Call of Duty, now adopted as the bulwark for anything that isn't the standard shooty affair or anything they do not personally like. While not being too inclusive to every new idea that comes along and is shouted on soapbox, the resistance to change will be the real death knell of this game.
  7. LordKrelas

Building a base in the middle of no-where, to exploit every possible terrain feature, with not a single interaction with other players, making certs from orange rocks, to build automated defenses, with the intent more often than not, to grind players, not help win the map at all, is what the Construction system tends to be used for.
This is of course, greatly due to the Zones around the lattice that are massive anti-construction zones, and due to the players building them:
Look at the threads, "I should be able to one-shot the entire population of a Bio lab from a bunker in in a ravine"
"A properly manned 2-man Main Battle Tank should be bested by an automated Anti-vehicle turret without support"
"Anti-infantry turrets should be shielded by Invulnerable walls, so they can't be hit from outside, massacring infantry"
"A PMB should invalidate the Lattice base nearby, forcing defenders to attack the PMB & Hold the base at the same time"
"A PMB should bypass an entire lattice Base, making defense impossible against Builders"

The Construction system, if it wants to be part of the original game-play in truth, should actually focus on what the Lattice & the Hex system focused on: What everything but the Construction system focused on.
The Construction system is isolated, until it one-sidely man-handles the lattice, by nature.
And if it wasn't locked out with the massive barriers, the ease of glitching & BS would be massive due to how it is handled.

It's not a matter of "Failure to adapt, will kill the game"
Failure to not erase the value of the older parts of the game for the latest addition, will kill the game.
The Game isn't Miner-Wars, with tower-defense - Nor should all focus be diverted until it is.
Construction & other additions should benefit the gameplay, not dictate everything in a one-sided enforcement.
IE, that was Hives: You either destroyed Hives, or you lost - All other VP gathering means paled, and to Hive, you avoided most of the gameplay, with the intention of watching a bar move, instead.
Not all like the rest of the game, added nothing to the game-play, was essentially an entirely different game, that dictated what everyone else had to do however --- Since it locked down the entire map, and presented more power than anything else.

If Construction wants to be included into the "Main Game", perhaps it shouldn't be so far isolated, that it dictates everything it touches when it does actually get close to Lattice Base interactions.
Otherwise, it's akin to a second game that wants to dominate the other in a one-sided grind-fest.
  8. FateJH

We used to have these things called victory points that, along with base capture goals, did help win the map. Stubbon players wanted nothing of it.
Then they started an Alert that could bring an end to the conquest. Stubborn players still wanted nothing of it.
The further we push back, the more distorted this will all one day become.
I'm giving you this break since you only joined in 2016 (by account date); but, you should have read what the pilot was like back before the post-Beta adjustment to flak and G2A resistances. It would have made you pale. They detracted it bitterly but, despite that, the change still happened. All the developers are doing now by not backing out but also by not charging ahead is delaying the growing pains.
Like I said, growing pains that will lead to a distorted shape one day.
A sweet lie even I fell victim to, despite the fact that I should have learned from my days arguing for lattice. When the developers do listen, they only listen to half of the idea; when the developers do build, they build the least complicated part of the system; when the developers do introduce, they never get beyond an initial phase. Sometimes, the initial phase itself is a trojan lie. (I'm looking at you, CAI.) The part they consistently miss is the one that contains the heart and soul of the system - the logic of why it's actually there in the first place.
  9. LordKrelas

    ...
Hives generated Victory Points, better than any holding of the lattice.
As you could not lose VP's if they Hives, or from touching the Warp Gates.
Hives dominated this, not helped add content - They were motivated & were placed in glitched spots, to hell holes, to map edges, to lock down maps.

IE, I am aware heavily of the Victory Point system.
Change is not always for better, or for worse.
However, I ain't going to call construction part of the main game, in this thread for sure (as original poster's goals, is to force everyone seemingly into fighting PMBs to enjoy any other part of the game..)
Till they're actually involved in the game-play, past "I built this thing, 7 miles from anything important, so come attack this, or be locked out from the entire map"
Yes, PMB's lost the HIVE BS, and now they're lacking a purpose.
This is from how poorly they were handled to begin with.

    I've been here for awhile..
I didn't bother posting for awhile as well.
I've seen the Connery Hive spam by Wildcard, I was there for it.

Except players end up building completely away from fights, there is already plenty of bases in the game... they seriously don't need to add to it and split fights up even more, it would be nice if players could augment current bases to make them more defensible similar to how people would stay back and CE a courtyard in the first game. Let them build everything they do now just in bases / outposts, that would be interesting.

Hey, look everybody! It's our resident exploiter still playing his 'cover my a**' word games to excuse doing something that he knows is wrong. As I told you before, *****, I've seen your type come and go in games and you cheats all act the same. I can sit right here and predict what you'll say in response and how you'll say it. So, enjoy the Pyrrhic victory because in the end you lose out. That's when you kill the game, then move to the next game, set up shop and do the same chit again.
  12. Killer Medic

Do you want kettle corn, salted or movie theater butter type?

People have proven it's an EXPLOT and that DBG considers it a EXPLOIT, yet here we are.

    So, um, everything didn't change?

Exactly, I've seen about 6 fired, 3 of those by myself and I killed... no one.
It was always at random vehicles attacking my PMB and they always moved before being hit.

Kettle Corn, I'll salty it with tears!
