Just wanted to know how the Cold War alerts go for TR on other servers. The WG position obviously doesn't help but of what little I play on other servers I see TR getting whooped everywhere. I dont really complain much and try to play with whatever I have but Esamir feels severely imbalanced and it shows during alerts on my server. We barely end up with 15-20% territory and the few rare victories we manage as TR happens only when lots of VS and NC fight in the lower right corner of the map. Most of the time we are gated by both VS and NC.
Briggs TR here - it's absolutely terrible. IMO, it all boils down to the fact that Esamir is too small to flank (especially with our current warpgate). If you are a faction that is underpopulated, on the other continents you can pull off flanking manoeuvres to some extent and avoid the massive zerg which, quite simply, there is no defence from. You can fight them tactically. But on Esamir, no matter where you go, you are only a base or two away from a force which outnumbers yours by a significant amount. So some people stop fighting in Esamir. Other people are 4th factioners and then swap over for the easy XP. Both of which makes matters even worse. So even more people stop fighting on Esamir, and even more people swap over for the almost guaranteed 10k XP. Which makes it even worse. And so on. At the moment there's pretty much no reason for Briggs TR to go to Esamir except to try (normally in vain) to stop NC from getting a dominating victory. On an evenly populated server this warpgate is definitely a disadvantage, but it certainly wouldn't be so bad. It would still be worth fighting for.
