If you guys haven't realized it yet, TR on emerald has no decent oufits that have over 10 players. Lets consider there was a primer TR oufit that everyone wanted to join. Something to look forward to joining once you become an exceptional player. This is a question targeted at everyone but mostly to the upper tier infantry players on Emerald NC and VS. Who would comprise the best TR oufit on Emerald if there was one? Obviously everyone doesn't have a 50 person long list off the top of their head, if you have a few names in mind, post them!
not only on emerald other servers like mine (cobalt) do not have them (the one's you really want to join) the other problem is that the one's you wanted to join in the past have failed to keep there outfit together just like mine, when the owner stopped playing (the best team leader i have seen in this game) the outfit still have over 300 members, only there is no team play this was once the better outfit to join there are still 2 good outfits on my server one is french the other one is German from time to time i play with those guy's and even as i can speak a little German and french i do not understand everything they say/write now because i can't find a good outfit with real team play i just stay in my death outfit i tried to lead the outfit for a while but i suck as a leader maybe some other guy needs to step up and take the lead or start a new outfit
And instead of complaining, take the initiative and make one? I imagine you probably have made somewhat of a name for yourself on your server, at that point it just becomes getting the word out.
We have taken initiative and made one: The Burning Legion [TMG]. We just need more good players rather than the 3 of us.
Emerald TR had a top-tier outfit: EXOC. They were sizable, had strict recruiting standards, and the one time I saw them on the competitive scene (outfit v outfit on test server), they utterly dominated. Then EXOC split. The lowest talent players (maybe a quarter of them) jumped ship to VS (who were at 45%+ population at the time) and the rest stuck with TR and went into SVO. Then SVO switched to COOP. Then COOP disbanded, although I think it's reforming again. The problem isn't that TR doesn't have top-tier players, it's that running an outfit takes time and effort, and it's an easy job to burn out on.
We used to have NUC, who completely dominated everybody when they were in their prime. DD12 is still around and full of great players, but I don't think they're recruiting.
Emerald had bwc, traf, that outfit that buzzcutpsycho was in, odam, and I'm sure one or two other big outfits at one point or another. Many of these forces have become inactive or simply passive about things. The nerf cycle has forced many of these outfits down in size as good players began opting for the next faction worth playing. We still do have plenty of people who don't suck, but we have a lot of lone wolves.
I think all the "good" NC and TR outfits have either gotten tired of this game, or gone VS......in fact, besides a few straggling AoD, DoG and some GOTR, GOKU guys, I dont recall seeing many outfits, just alot of randoms...
Don't worry, guys. Soon they're going to add a bunch of incentives for people to be badass outfits, stuff like base bonuses and permanency in customizing said bases. I think that'll help at least a little. Once they add more meaning to bases (ala Higby's radical plans from that one Higby Pls episode), and the other interface and upgrades for outfits (companies and fireteams too, maybe?), there might be more competition. But, yeah, they're all in the VS now, because the VS have the best, er, stuff. Hmm. I wish TE would come back. I miss their theatrics and the melodrama surrounding. Oh, and what Tekdragon guy said. Outfits take a large investment from their leaders.
Not a complete list nor in any particular order but notable TR players who are not alts of NC or VS mains : Urechi, W1ndex (not sure if he plays much anymore), Helganian (think they might have switched factions), THEPIPESOFVICTORY, TehSteb (doesn't play much anymore), AdeptusAutismus (think we may have converted him to VS recently) TheNurse (probably someone's alt, but they were solid), Manson, BBQBaconPizza, Vulkkan, Aceyducey, and Wiifi. Granted I haven't played for about a month and probably forgot a few.
You don't need outfits with insanely strict recruiting standards for your faction to do well against others. PS2 is a game about teamplay, individual stats aren't that important in the grand scheme of things. To get good stats you have to pad them with farming, that usually involves not throwing yourself at objectives that benefit your faction as a whole, but rather finding a niche you are good at to get the most kills while dying the least. I can't talk about other outfits, but I've been a member of AOD and BWC for 6 months each. Both very good outfits, though not elitist like what OP wants. AOD provides necessary leadership to everyone, it's not perfect, but they run more open platoons than any other outfits I have ever heard of or seen on Emerald (both TR and NC, my NC is BR92, and TR BR99). They often easily field 1-2 platoons and can overwhelm most fights on their own. Just keep in mind, there aren't that many actual full AOD members, but the full AOD members are the ones that command platoons and squads. They are the hammer of TR, not very precise, but I don't care how good your elitist squad is, it will still get stomped against superior numbers. You will need support from the likes of AOD. So AOD is basically completely anti-elitist, yet they serve a vital function for the faction. BWC is a lot more closed in. They rarely run open squads, but can field a decent number of players during operations. Very organized outfit, pleasure to be a part of. Their system is a bit different from AOD, not every full member is a leader, though there are plenty of good leaders. Large portion of BWC is Venom, which is pretty much your regular infantry. Then there are taskforces specializing in Air (Dragon), Armor (Rampage), and infantry (WIdowmaker and Ranger). So if you venture into taskforces, those are pretty much the elite players you were looking for. Very strict recruiting standards, exactly what you wanted. There aren't many of them, maybe a squad each, but they have been playing together in their roles for a long time, and got very good at them. I just gave you a contrast of 2 good outfits with very different approaches on TR Emerald. It's up to the player to decide which style fits them best. Point is you can have both, some elitism and being useful to your faction at the same time, like BWC taskforces in my example. But, EVERYBODY KNOWS YOU NEVER GO FULL ELITISM.
If I had to guess, I would say that some of the best TR players on Emerald were originally from SolTech. I don't see many SolTech NC around anymore. There were a few from VS though I don't see them around much anymore either. Most were fairly average, and two high profile players were banned a few months into the initial Mattherson merge for running scripts.
For the love of god... I was in an AOD platoon early this morning on Amerish, a full platoon, only TR on the map. They had pushed down the east lane to the aurxiuam cryobank, which was owned by VS, but right outside the NC warpgate. VS are dug in, farming the NC pushing out their warpgate, VS have 96+ with 45% pop and its a 3 way battle with us in the hex. A group of 2 squads of NC moved into take our only techplant, mekala. I told my SL we are about to lose mekala and our prowlers. SL tells PL, PL says we need to kill these VS sunderers, then they can't spawn here, and we can then deal with mekala. Now I remind you, this is a VS base.. So he orders us to make prowlers and kill the VS sunderers.. Which is when I go into platoon chat and tell him that we have 30secs on the SCU at mekala techplant. PL says don't worry about mekala, we need to take this base from VS its their only territory on this side of the map.. So we lose mekela tech plant 3mins later.. VS farmed all of our prowlers, so PL orders pull more prowlers... Sorry PL, we cant make prowlers, we lost our tech plant.. PL says Lightnings! Everyone pull lightnings.. Yes, our 2/2 prowlers just got instagibbed by AV turrets and lancers, by all means lets try it with lightning! So after those were obliterated.. Sunderers, we need more sunderers!! FARMED.. So farmed... it was one of the worst experiences of my planetside2 history. I swear, to give orders that bad they have to be working for the enemy.. either way.. AOD need to train or vet PL better. AOD got 48 guys FARMED like I ain't seen farmed in a good while now, for over an hour! TR would be better off they just disbanded, as what they are teaching the noobs is just how to be farmed.. No wonder new player turnover is so high, noobs would be better off alone than lead into what they were, it was epic disaster.. TLDR: AOD PL needs a brain transplant.
