Emerald and the state of VS alert wins

LOL at this and all the other anti-Vanu posts. I described how the NC is full of belligerent, irritating, single-minded players. Do you think having BR100s like you to help things along, pretending that you're somehow morally superior to those 'filthy Vanus'?

We lose alerts not because 'we don't care' and 'we're having too much fun playing friendly' or whatever other asinine excuses you can come up with. We lose alerts because people like you are on here in denial about just how trash the NC became after the server merge.

Waterson NC was good, and had no problems. They won most alerts. I loved playing with them.

Matherson NC was a vile cancer that is slowly killing the faction. I all but quit playing my NC character because I got tired of platoon leaders telling people to quit and make their own platoons any time they offered alternative suggestions.

You can deny it all you want, but these posts about 'Vanus MLG PPA spammers' are just covering up the real issue and that's that the NC and TR are bad bad bad. The PPA has been around forever. Funny how it was only when the servers merged and the VS became dominant that suddenly every single time you lose, you blame the PPA.

It's only harassment at long range if you're not heavily coordinated.

If you've got 8 guys with Lancers focusing targets, it's stupid powerful.

That doesn't happen very often though *shrug*

It's generally just easier to let them close into Comets & S1 (default launcher) range where DPS is a lot better, and you can peek-a-boo easier because no slow movement while charging effect. 8 uncoordinated S1's in a 150m ambush is just as overwhelmingly powerful.

Lancers are nicer in a battlefield effect they have in that it slows the initial push to allow more time for HA's to amass on the front line. That's how I use mine, pull it as the enemy approaches and hope to slow them down a little bit. I usually only see a couple tanks blow up on the way in though.

You dont have to describe it, just continue posting and get yourself an NC avatar and signature. People will put 2 and 2 together.

What outfit are you in again?

    "I'm rubber, you're glue!"

    TIW. And Prey!

Does it really matter? Does that change the evidence that Matherson completely ruined the NC?

No really, let's hear your reason for why the NC went from being #1 on Waterson to a sad joke on Emerald.

Criteria: Your reason can't involve complaining about weapon balance unless you can identify exactly what weapon is the problem and how it was unbalanced in some fashion post-merge, and you can't use asinine and completely unprovable reasons like 'we don't care about alerts' and 'VS are meanyheads and no fun'.

Let's get the first two out of the way: Neither Lancer nor PPA has gotten 'more powerful' in any fashion since before the merge.

the factions aren't that different; NC have a couple spectacular idiots in their command chat that turn people off, and VS have a couple high-end outfits, but neither of those things is ultimately that big a deal.

It's about population, and alerts being set up such that they strongly reward a relatively small population advantage

    The reason

No it has nothing to do with any of those things.

It has to do with the fact that most of the nc outfits have too few active players. On top of that most of the nc outfits are casual. The last thing is lack of vision or an attempt to take an outfit to the next level and get better.

The Waterson players and outfits are just as ****tie as Mattherson players and outfits on the nc side.

The state of the game on Emerald, isn't isolated to just Emerald. It's on Cobalt, Connery an Miller as well. An no it's not necessarily about asshats an uncoordinated outfits/lack of leadership in all servers. Mind you Connery doesn't have a central com, an outfits don't care about some alerts based on Continental preference (please add meta to change this mentality). Cobalt NC appears to have a decent grasp of the field, winning alerts (not all, but enough to make a strong show) an possibly leadership. They often have numerous open platoons operating, which could be more of a factor if run by capable leadership.

VS, while I played them during the beta days when they were severely gimped as the underdog pop, to which I enjoyed battlefield success (despite losing territory on a daily basis). When things were balanced out more (small arms were set to be on par, vehicles were nerfed, etc..) there was a casual, but noticeable influx of fresh (former TR/NC faction) players that crossed over to what seemingly appeared OP VS faction. I'll say when you have a core group of dedicated players operating with subpar **** gear for a long time under heavy pressure of being constantly warpgated, yet making the rival factions pay for everything inch by inch you sort of build a refined skillset an capability of reaction response a level above the rest. That could very well have been the issue, when VS were finally balanced in the small arms suddenly the slightly above average veterans noticed a sudden climb in their KPH, KDR an overall success in the field. Which is in itself a pieyed piper to players across the fence.

VS small arms do need to get toned down more, small arms dmg output is still to high for the ROF/an reliable accuracy (tight COF) it should be -10 to 20%.
PPA, Lancer an Vortex all need a range drop off similar to the AT turrets that engineers received. I think it's a fair tradeoff for direct line of sight targeting and splash damage suppresive effects.

It's sensible that VS small arms have little to no dropoff, although I think the ROF of their weapons is a tad high and almost on par with TRs, which doesn't make any sense. VS weapons should have a ROF only slightly higher than the NC, as you could in theory surmise each shot has a charge build up before chambering to fire.

Just as well NC weapons should have a slight recoil reduction, the current recoil effect on the majority (not all) of their weapons gives them an overly tough learning curve to new players. Just as well frustrating to veterans in situations where the recoil beyond a single shot makes no sense to the fire settings of some weapons. Whats the point in a full auto LMG/AR/Carbine when after the first shot.. the guns bucking all over the place in a short, mid or long range firefight.

Back to original topic. There's a high demand for more meta, more leadership controls, more squad/platoon organization. The Squad Command content that was suppose to be released this previous month that did not arrive on time has made a growing problem more concerned as players are starting to lose the luster of the games direction. I won't say this game is dying as there will always be a draw for FPS fanatics, the real need is retention of new players.

NOTE - redeployside while I understand it was to address the frustration of players unable to quickly/easily find a fight, has become the harvenger of abuse by others to overwhelming respond to a losing fight an crush the battle in the final moments. Other than severely limiting the redeploy options, I really did like the suggested idea of nanite consumption with a multiplier based on distance moved. Sure you can move 150+ guys from one side of the board to the next, but they arrive with zero resources. Or with the vaunted NTU silo supply that gets used up for every respawn, vehicle spawn, equipment terminal use, (etc) Would either prevent or force players to think logistically instead of the lazy option.

I'd much rather the option outside of the adjacent hexes an hex present, warpgates. Start forcing players to cooperate together an pull transports to get to fights, this instant redeployment stuff is purely for lazy poor players that have no intention of actually working together beyond dropping overwhelming numbers on a fight in a 10s instant. There is no logistics in that.

On another note. If Sony doesn't wanna invest in this game by adhering to the roadmap schedule (which was exactly one of the many downfalls of PS1) why should the players? I've more than contributed my share of $$ to the game for things like Alpha pack, beta perks as well sales content through steam. Yet, SOE can't be bothered to add a paypal one time option for setting up membership status. An I've read hundreds of comments/replies to that topic, but still they have no intention of it.

I'd just like to add, I've been getting rather irritated of late, so I apologize if my above post was sort of a bit all over the board in regards.

I would like to add tho there are plenty of small solid outfits that operate on all those servers an do considerable effort to fight the good fight, leaders an officers of those outfits that step up are the only ones keeping those factions alive during the hours they can play at. They cannot always be on to lead the aimless by hand or nudge. It's just a noted observation players that actively support each other, regardless of outfit, squad or platoon organization, but as a faction. Become stronger an more successful.

Every faction can do this. The problem with the NC/TR is simply that - no one listens when you ask them to do so. Its a simple lack of teamwork and a will to win.

The VS would be as easy to approach as the other two factions if it weren't for the lancer and vortex,it's not fair that one faction has AV weapons with nearly infinite range. For example there was a fight at the Bastion last night against VS and even though we had organized groups THERE IS NO WAY TO COMBAT A LANCER SQUAD,they'll just keep spawning over and over again while the other factions try to maneuver their tanks forward but you'll never make it because if a VS heavy with a Lancer can see you he can hit you. I don't mind the velocity of the lancer but it needs a huge reduction in range.
