Let's preface this by saying yes, I hate AI weapons on vehicles and would remove them from the game if I could. In fact, anyone with an auraxiumed banshee or HE variant tank cannon without at least 4 balancing infantry weapon auraxiums per offense would be permabanned. However, I'm a realist, so here's a slightly more doable solution. Remove thermal vision from all vehicle weapons, or reduce its range to like 5 meters. Or at the very least the AI variants. Personally I would say removing and refunding it is a far better idea because not many people would want the gimped version. Obviously it gets a bit trickier since SOE made optics SC-able, but maybe just bite the bullet on that one and give certs back to people dumb enough to spend money on something that cheap. Seriously, thermal lighting people up as far as it does trivializes any difficulty involved in the AI farming game (which is already essentially a point and click adventure). Removing those sights alone would at least force people to pay attention to what they're doing and actually have to aim at things, rather than move their mouse to the brightly glowing beacons. It would also help reduce the dire necessity of base redesigns as suddenly existing foliage rather than only buildings could be used for cover/maneuvering. Also, the fact that vehicles can see through smoke grenades is laughable.
And while your at it, let's also remove all the scopes from all infantry weaponry as it makes shooting at infantry way to easy
