[Suggestion] "Driven To Suicide"

Yeah this definitively needs to be addressed. Apart from rocketpodders with anger management problems there's plenty of other instances where something like this happens, for example I tend to jump off buildings if i'm discovered when infiltrating. I think a simple timer where if someone dealt damage to you within the last X seconds and you commit suicide then the last person who did damage to you will get the kill.

As it stands nothing stops you from flying like an idiot if someone gets the jump on you, A2AM or not I doubt the people who are doing it are going to sto. A laopard doesn't change its spots, nor a tiger its stripes.
  2. siiix

but then we could not pi$$ off the enemy... so i say NO :)
  3. Ziogatto89

You could piss them off by actually beating them in a fight for starters, besides to resort to something that is arguably an abuse of a game feature just to attempt to piss your enemy off means you're more pissed yourself than your enemy will ever be. You're basically sore losers and when i manage to kill in mid air those who eject i get a kick by thinking at how mad they must be.... that said, it honestly is broken mechanic and needs to be fixed.
  4. Protential

Your just going to get more exp for killing the vehicle.

The driver does not take damage while he is driving...

Also people like me who just play to ram you, use LA.
  5. MrPokealot

Guys, guys its like 50 xp. Its not even 1/2 a credit, it's like 1/5. Why so serious?
  6. Fligsnurt

    Its a good idea honestly.
  7. Lakora

I just realised that all the negativity towards A2A missiles is from Rocket Podders being disrupted during their farming... :D

Awesome... Anyway, while this is annoying not like it matters anymore with the upcomming changes anyway.
    • Up x 2
  8. Ijustdontcareanymore

    Good, now that is settled.

You get denied kill XP you deserve for putting the bad pilot in the situation to suicide.

    End of story.

The behavior is exploitive and needs addressed.

Some here act like it's possible to stop someone from killing themselves. All they have to do is bind a keyboard macro to /suicide in the chat and they can kill themselves instantly just before they die. There isn't a "skillful" way to stop someone with such a macro from killing themselves because it's instant.
  10. siiix

no one is really pi$$ed getting killed by a machine gun... you can only pi$$ people off by doing something they don't expect or like or find fair ... it actually do not harm you if someone suicides on you .. besides you not getting the kill/xp witch is nearly nothing

and i'm not the sore loser suiciding, i have a blast doing it... your the sore loser coming on the forum whining about you not getting your pathetic 100XP because someone suicides on you ;)

BUHAHAAAA CRY WHINE i did not get my 100XP = mission accomplished :p

so in short it would be a waste of development time to address this, its actually quite difficult (except air) to do in this game in battlefield i used to do it many many times every time i played

This is the kind of person that supports the current system. Just think about that for a second, then click Like on the OP.
  12. FreelancePanic

Dunno about you guys, but I'd like a cosmetic item which puts up an exclamation mark above my head each time I suicide.

And I'd pay more if it played a sound clip which plays 'DENIED'

I'm simply dumbfounded by the people that don't understand how much XP you lose when somebody bails or crashes. It's not simply a matter of losing the player kill (which in itself is a large portion of the potential XP), but you very often are relegated to an assist or critical assist on the vehicle kill. You're losing over half of what you should be getting.
  14. siiix

we cant be all saints ;) besides its not really fun to be a saint
  15. Cinnamon

A2AM lock on is the most nonsensical reason for deliberately buying the farm. All you have to do is keep your nerve and turn around and get into close range where their lock is hard to get and cannons do way more damage anyway. Unless you are outnumbered in which case you dun messed up boy.

But in reality it's only a handful of supposedly "honourable and highly skilled" people on the forums who claim to only suicide when fighting against air to air missiles when specced purely for air to ground. Everyone else does it all the time, when just targeted by ESF cannon or any flak.

Honestly it can make you feel a bit sick about how little air time you can get as a "dedicated" ESF pilot sometimes with all the quick deaths. It seems that everything in the game can kill you really easily if you make the tiniest mistake, except small arms fire. Then you go to the forums and it's full of infantry players saying how obviously any pistol should be able to take out an ESF just by shooting a few rounds in the general direction.
  16. NotBob

What if you are a light assault or have the ejection system? Bailing then becomes a tactic that will actually keep you alive yet the whiners will still flock to the forums and complain.
  17. Cinnamon

If someone ejects and lands safely then they become infantry and have diplomatic immunity against any forum whining.

    Jesus Christ...

How about we fix that too? I know, hard concept right? Fixing two problems instead of leaving one problem alone because there is another problem.

First kill crashes and suicides, second kill deconstructs, etc.
  19. bendplz

TERRIBLE SUGGESTION, this idea is way too negative, all i want when i play planetside is to see DRIVEN TO SUICIDE unlocks! yay!.. idiot
  20. Dulu

How did you get to BR 37 with an 0.6 KDR?
