Also, keep in mind, that while you all enjoy your day off, SOE is working their azzes off to get the nerfs in that everybody has been crying about. So yeah. They work so you can play. Be more thankful. They could have just as easily turned the servers off and sent everybody home for the holiday, like your jobs did.

Heaven forbid they attempt to fix and improve the game with 2 hours maintenance out of 24 hours..

    2 hours 18 minutes.

This is worse than that war they had, the one with the trenches.

Primetime is primetime for a server when the majority of players on that server are online. I'd assume this to be where the servers are located, but I suppose that doesn't have to be true.

It's primetime when the majority of players for each server are online.

The servers went down a few minutes before schedule btw, so it's currently more like 2 hours 35 minutes.
  9. Phyr

They wont update servers individually, so it doesn't matter when a particular server's highest player count is on.

That was the idea though. They don't, but they should.

    Soe are unspeakable monsters.

To fully grasp their depravity is to know madness.

CCP is European. They've got an MMO. It's patched regularly, including two expansions a year. Patchnotes are detailed and shown in advance. There is a daily downtime of about 15 minutes to keep the 45k+ concurrent users server running. It's also a pvp game with permanent losses upon death, so you can bet the amount of complaints about imbalance/exploits/bugs aren't unheard of.

Granted, their patch days (not hotfix) are generally considered not to be played on, but those patches also include a ton more stuff.

Let's not forget a perma test realm and a single server that is capable of 1000 vs 1000 players, all the while having much more than 50,000 people online at once.

But yeah, Having to constantly patch a game that's had the same game breaking bugs since launch (flashing screen, triple loading screen, deleted characters removing ALL characters and can't be given back, SC going missing etc etc) while doing knee jerk reactions because of the forum community and where "optimisation improvements" mean "massive decrease in FPS" and having terrible graphics for a game of 2013 while older games have better graphics and run a lot more smoothly means we totally got to take our hats of to the good ol 'mericans....right?
