Does TR have a place on Mattherson?

Does TR have a place on Mattherson? I feel like it doesn't, especially with our inability to win as many alerts as we SHOULD.
  2. gigastar

    They used to.
Wonder how many responses ill get for mentioning The Enclave...
    But then The Enclave left.

Yea, VS has a lot of outfits with "Ok, everyone pull mags and zerg" coordination whereas TR are mostly foot-zergers. There's a rise in armor groups so there will be a return. Now that pops have balanced out (somebody's high but it rotates between the three), TR/NC will be less demoralized and have more will to fight.

Wounds are healing. Now TR just needs moar tanks.

    It's inside their warpgate.

    e:

I 100% agree TR and NC need to pull more MBTs and Sunderers. Lightnings are also acceptable. I want every TR and NC on the server in vehicles at all times. This is important.
  6. Travesty

Hopefully the population will swing away from the VS in the near future. I don't think its very fun for anyone with the imbalance.

That being said, BAX usually targets massively outnumbered bases to resecure. <shrugs>

...for your Lancer squads, i bet.

Last night, no alert, Tech plant on Esimir (no idea which one). 33/30/35 ish pop on the continent so no huge pop advantage.

We, VS, spent at least an hour fending off both NC and TR. It was very close, MANY fights around the shield gens and in the turrets. Huge Armor and infantry pushes.

The only thing that saved us really was it came in waves. Had the TR and NC pushed at the same time we would have been crushed. I know my platoon had 1 squad dedicated to each Gen with one dedicated to the turrets and fighting off people that were dropping up top. Both factions put up a tremendous fight.

While neither were able to "win" in this case I hope the people that were fighting against us had as much fun as we did. I MUCH prefer this type of fight than camping you in your spawn rooms which is what happens too often when it seems like they are avoiding us.

Gigastar I find your comment amusingcoming from someone whose signature has Ceres as their Server and not Mattherson. BWC still gets a lot done on our OP days on Tuesdays and Fridays, and HNYB, the 903rd, and AOD also do work on a regular basis as well. I don't know why it is sooooooo hard for people to get it through their skulls that the one reason populations are balanced now is from the MASSIVE amounts of brand new players that Mattherson TR gets from it being a recommend TR Server. Meanwhile the 4th Faction VS still plagues Mattherson from time to time, usually during ALERTS and after primetime but it happens during primetime from time to time as well... but you won't hear the VS bring that up, nope just more insults for the TR.

The 903rd are a fine outfit which wins plenty of battles Tycoh, and anyone on Mattherson TR should know that for the longest time we haven't cared about Alerts since the VS destroyed that experience with 50-60% faction Population for months. You should care about winning battles, and pushing back the best VS have to offer when the battles are even or maybe slightly against you. Just remember Tycoh, just because you're outnumbered on the battlefield hearing "GINYU FORCE RULES" doesn't mean the TR don't have our place on the battlefield and in due time once the new players start getting experienced we will start winning alerts again:cool:

Yes, just because one displays only one signiture it absolutely must mean that they only have one character.

I have 5 characters, Dualstar is the main.
  11. chrisbeebops

This statement is true. Good luck winning anything when 30%+ of your pop is low-BR lemmings. Know that feel.

Only was about a month between the VS overpop starting and GU12. You guys complained more in 1 damn month than Waterson VS did in 6 months despite having it even worse than you. ffs! Even then we still didn't give up on alerts, alerts just means I know where the enemy is going so I can farm them faster.

"GINYU FORCE RULES" is the best possible thing I can hear when playing infantry as NC or TR on Mattherson. It means all of the VS baddies are at the base and it is farm time. The silence means the actual good VS outfits are there and they are too busy hunting to type out dumb messages.

Yes they have a place. You have to understand the current state of matherson to really understand why NC/TR are losing most of there alerts, and why its going to stop being the case fairly soon.

    1. Low BR: both NC and TR have atleast 1/3rd of their pop belonging to under BR30 players. This means alot of default armor and air, and especially default sundy's. I have alot of low BR's in my outfit, and quite a few are working to get a basic sundy going, let alone a well equiped piece of armor. Without decent sundy's, you can not hold a spawn, as its hard to keep one un-certed sundy alive, vs keeping 4 well certed sundy's alive. It also makes armor pushes exceptionally hard, and infantry suffers from unoptimized guns. The most common thing i hear now, is a low BR finally getting a new gun they wanted and saying there K/D has nearly doubled. This simply won't last, as certs are being gained, and eventually the new wave of guy's will get certed out.

    2. Lack of leadership: Both NC and TR lost a lot of good leaders during the over population of VS. To many people got frustrated and either left or got burned out leading. I know BWC and CML have been trying hard to counter that. Though i can't speak for TR, NC has really started to get its act together, and our outfits are starting to really work well together. There is still a way to go, but it's by far the best way to counter over pop.

3: Over Pop VS: Of course VS is overpopulated atm. Everyone agree's on this. It's hard to fight 2:1 odds or greater and win reliably. This is starting to correct itself, and though it may be unfair, it's not something to complain and quit about. It is what it is, the dev's know, and something is being done about it. Neither NC or TR win alot of alerts lately, however both sides are seeing a growing trend of things getting closer and closer these days. TR won an alert yesterday, with NC almost being first, losing by 7 minutes left and one territory. VS got crushed. Things are improving.

TLDR: Both NC/TR don't have the BR on the players to pull good armor/air/sundy's, are both getting their leadership in order, and are fighting against an over populated faction. This won't last long as both TR/NC are activly working to get to where they should be. I'd say another 2 weeks, and we will start seeing TR/NC win alerts daily.

The problem with TR on Mattherson is underpopulation. Most of the time you will face hordes of Vanu zerging everywhere... you can use this disadvantage, learn how to team work, enjoy the little conquests, improve yourself and... enjoy the farm, cause most of their zerg will be brainless zombies.
  14. Doctor?

Not really. Pops have been rather balanced as of late.

THE problem with TR on Mattherson (and I've said this many times across many threads here and on Reddit) is that The Enclave were roughly 40-50% of what made up the TR during prime time. When the Enclave imploded, it left a massive power and coordination vacuum in the Matty TR's line-up.

Over the past 2 months, the TR have had to re-coordinate themselves, and get back up to working level. We're only just now seeing the faction get back into its groove.

People don't realize how much the Enclave carried the faction back when they were around. They did so simply because they had the ability to throw 400-500 people at a given location or two on a moments notice. They overwhelmed with massively coordinated numbers.

Yes. TR and NC are the most balanced factions, and Mattherson TR and NC are still well matched.

VS is still the issue. I can deal with them being OP, and I can deal with them being highest pop, just not both at the same time. I suspect most of NC still feels this way still. I'm sure it sucks from a TR perspective, since it looks like NC is ganging up on them with VS. We're just looking for a fair fight.

Now that the factions are balancing a little by population, you'll see a lot more of NC fighting VS. I know I'm looking for some payback.

Nope. Mattherson is never going to change. Almost every alert is VS having double the NC/TR pop any gloating about the easy wins. The server is poison and despite some new players coming in, I don't see it improving.

Actually, I was thinking about this yesterday while holding the octagon on esimir shortly before Vanu took it.

The main reason we couldn't pull MBT's is because without owning a tech plant, we can only spawn MBT's from the warpgate. And esimir only has one tech plant, and it's more north towards the northwest warpgate and northeast warpgate. So our only option was to pull from the warpgate, but it didn't look like we had anyone organized enough to regroup and make that long drive.

But props to your defense of that tech plant. You guys had that south road locked down tight.
  18. Liberty

TR are doing fine mostly. I know just in the past day or so they managed to cap indar (which its not a true cap, but holding 70% territory without any significant pop bonus from the south eastern warpgate means someone is doing something right) along with a few alert wins here and there.

I think the biggest "Problem" people see right now is getting others into alerts. If you watch the local pops, VS is able to rally more of its troops on a more consistent basis. Which, good for them. I wouldn't go so far as to say it makes them better players, especially considering how alerts seemed to be spammed everywhere. I know personally, if I'm involved in a fun fight, I won't pack up my bags and move somewhere else just because another alert started.

I also know a lot of times when playing with people, after we finally die or get a moment to breathe (after an alert pops up) we'll check the map, see VS has like 40% pop to TR's 20 there and be like "Screw it, lets keep doing this"
  19. CrashB111

It doesn't occur to cowards like you, that if you all did your part and came to join TR on the alert continent that the population wouldn't be so skewed?

There is never a good reason why TR/NC/VS have equal world pops, yet on the alert continent VS has 40% and TR has 26%.
Get your rear in gear soldier.

Alternating back and forth between VS and TR on Matty has revealed one simple difference (besides the pop imbalance) - coordination. And I'm not referring to some high level military grade tactics here, just a basic back and forth on /leader about who's going where, what bases need reinforcements, etc.

TR just need to start talking to each other, it really is that simple.
