Does screaming for a medic actually help?

its all about the mini-map, screaming about it or worse profanity would just make me look for a redeploy.
frankly, I can't remember anybody ever doing either.
One of the reasons I like this game. less trash talk, more action.

As a medic, my priorities are:

    Don't get shot.
    Shoot the bad guys.
    Revive dead guys.
    Tend to the wounded.

There's no point in me picking someone up off the floor if either I or the patient will just get gunned down in the process. The certs are nice, but throwing my life into the line of fire for some exp isn't really going to help the team if I go down, even if I successfully resurrect the patient. They'll just get gunned down in the 2 seconds they spend standing there wondering WTF is going on anyway. Shift+forward and a direction to turn in should be decided BEFORE hitting accept people.

I actually prefer people calling for help. At least you know they are going to be there to revive when you get to them. I don't mind dying to revive, k/d ratio I could care less its just a game, but when I risk my life to get to you and then you respawn and I am left to die for no good reason, not cool!

    Medic player here.

I have VOIP turned off so I won't hear anything you say over your mic. If you want heals from me and I don't already see you then use the designated "I need a medic" voice command (V2) because that way the game puts a icon above your head and marks you on my minimap. VOIP does nothing but make more battle noise which I would ignore.
  5. KnightCole

I know in smaller battles its a "Come kill me" beacon.

99% of the time if there were a medic around, he'd have already healed you if he could (because you know, certs.)

ed: and yeah, I too mute local voice because of too many people uselessly wailing about everything. So probably just stick to the quick commands.

If you play as a medic long enough, you get haunted in your dreams by screaming voices..

"I require a medic!" (VS default female)
"Where's the doc?" (NC default female)
    "Meeeeeediiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic!" (TR default male)
  8. Llamar

I've had a medic stop reviving me half way because I was talking about how ****** the medics were on our team. =p
  9. FaLI3N

I warn these guys that I won't revive them from now on if they keep spamming voice comms.. if they shush then I res them just like I would of if it was anybody else.

I only do so if a medic walks over my dead body without noticing, or if I'm in a MAX suit in an easy to reach location. In the latter case I also include my location (Northeast Landing Pad)

    Sure don't.

When I'm playing a medic and someone starts bellyaching over prox about needing a medic I hit Num Enter which automatically mutes them. Do this enough times and you eventually get most of the bellyachers on your faction and it gets quiet.

Medics know who to heal and revive. They get icons to show it. The only time I call for a medic is when I'm a MAX and I use Z or Num 4 for it which is squad or platoon. That works.

    Prox gets you ignored.

By the way Num Enter works great on people stoning out, playing music, or other derps who don't use prox properly. Muting Prox entirely works, but I prefer to leave it on as it lets me talk to pilots/drivers/passengers in vehicles. Num Enter is a great solution to muting peeps I just don't need or want to hear.

As for those who try to gun me down for it. Come at me bro. I've got enough peeps to report you that your name will end up as Unknown in the player listings within a day or two. Reporting works great on TKers, not just hackers.

Except for when I pull a sundie I'm always on my medic. I do listen for calls but I won't search for the lone wolf in the middle of a crossfire. Best way to show a medic you want a heal is to be crouched behind cover. Even if you don't call out I will try to heal you if i see you. Shouting for a medic standing in the open guns a blazing with no cover to be found won't bring you any love even if you do shout.
