Does anyone else find the MSW-R lacking?

What the HELL are you talking about? The Anchor (along with the GD-22S) has equal best in class hip accuracy and moving ADS accuracy. LMGs just don't get good hipfire, even with adv. laser it's mediocre compared to other classes of guns. Its recoil pattern is tighter than the Polaris, MSW-R and EM1, too.

The rest of the NC guns are pretty much identical in hipfire to the other factions across classes. You're the only faction to get 2 ARs with 1.5 hip accuracy. The Reaper DMR has worse than standard hipfire, but so does the TRV, go figure.

With Orion Im feel more BETTER (0.75 LMG ITS FAIRY TALE!)

    They are not even conflicting.

    1. It's like an Orion.

It is very similar to an Orion so anything said about MSW-R also mostly applies to Orion.

    2. It's intended as a fast firing gun for use with hip fire similar to an SMG or Hip fire specialised carbine/AR.

It is designed for hip firing over ads.

    3. It's like an AR/T1 Cycler.

This is correct. LMG in this class were added to give HA a weapon options that work more like AR.

    4. It's like an upgraded Carv.

This is the only questionable one as it arguably comes down to personal preference. Carv has more ammo and an easier recoil pattern making it better as an LMG.

This is just not true, any of it. Horrible ADS accuracy - nope, it's just as accurate as the other 167-143 damage LMGs. Horrible hipfire - nope, put on an ALS and it's just as accurate as the MSW-R with ALS (it even has a lower COF bloom per second). The Anchor is practically the best all around gun in the LMG class.

It's in the highest ADS accuracy group - barring the SAW, that gun is obviously not good all around anyway - but also the highest hipfire accuracy group. The only other gun with both of those traits is the GD-22S, but that gun loses due to a 23 RPM advantage > a 0.5 advantage for the first shot recoil multiplier. It's TTK is very close to the best LMGs. With enough ammo to potentially kill eight people, the 50 round magazine is clearly not a disadvantage.

That is not the case for the humble MSW-R though. With only enough ammo to potentially kill seven people - with a much lower margin - and having several other deficits when compared to the Anchor with only a 0,02 second TTK advantage to show for it, it definitely needs something improved.

I've more or less replaced my t16-rhino with the msw-r recently and I like it, I use foregrip with a 3.4 red dot scope. I don't bother with the laser since you can hip fire pretty well without it and the scope lets me engage mid range targets more effectively.

I just started using it after getting auraxium on my chaingun. I'm absolutely loving it!

Yes, it's bad for long range but really shines at close to semi medium range. I too prefer foregrip on it as I have the tendency or ADsights even at relatively close ranges.

So.. hang on, this isn't a troll thread??

Heavies should never hipfire, when possible. Our weapons have the worst TTK of all main weapons. You should be putting a grip on everything.

I will revise my prior post to say, the MSW-R seems to be doig better than the CARV for me right now.

I don't know why.. maybe my play style over 65+ doesnt' suit the Carv anymore I dunno. All i know is that problems I was hving with the Carv have gone away by switching to the MSW-R.

I'm having the same problems iwth the ORION. It suddenly feels nerfed to me and I don't know why. I've used the Orion for the same levels as well, but now its not good enough. (stealth nerf or change that is no longer compatible with my playstyle?)

It's current sound is bad. It kinda lacks the 2x sight (then again many other guns do). You may need the flash suppressor to actually see what you are shooting at.

That's it. There are absolutely no real downsides, go grab it and recommend it to other TR players right now!

Horizontal recoil. It drags up and to the right. For me, horizontal recoil weapons are harder to win with. Props to those who excel with them.
