Do you notice attachments making a difference?

As you can see, some forumsider actually said Those attachments offer minimal differences when I compared 2 weapons because he said 1 was an upgrade over the other but he completely ignored the fact that one has more attachment options then the other.

So I am here to ask you, have you noticed a difference when you put attachments on weapons, sure there are extremes like the God Saw but I'm talking about every day use, have you noticed your forward grip reducing recoil (note : forward grip does not reduce vertical recoil on LMG. source : game update), do you notice the compensator working for you, do you notice the effects of SPA or HVA, would love to hear your opinion.

I definetely notice the differences, especially for advanced foregrip and laser sight. And, well, surpressor, but it's a bad kind of difference.
  3. JibbaJabba

    Oh yes.

(and not sure if this is what you had in mind but..) Consider extended mags on MAXes.
  4. FateJH

You can see the difference on the vertical recoil of an AMR-66 with and without the Compensator.

Sounds like just the ignorable nonsense of a bad player? Unless there's a recent bug, I'm pretty sure most/all attachments have been thoroughly tested by players and shown to be at least minor improvements.

Which brings back up the issue of vertical progression (playtime = power) being worse than lateral progression (playtime = more playstyle options), with the obvious fix being that new players start with maxed out attachments on the starting guns. Really new players should start with one max-rank item for every slot, so that the playing field is completely even (which is critical for a game to offer good PVP.)

The correct answer is... it depends.

Forward grip and compensator for the TMG-50 are a noticable difference and fankly a requirement to make the gun usable.
Forward grip on the Jaguar has almost no noticable difference.

Laser on most LMG's is ponitless; its reduction on the CoF isn't enough to make it a hip fire weapon
Laser on a lot of Carbines can transform them into a hip fire beast

You really just need to test out guns and their attachements befor buying. Read reviews and get input from people who have used the guns and attachements you're interested in. Then you can figure out what to unlock and how to upgrade it properly.

I always use compressor (compensator) and it works as intended: Every enemy in render distance instantly knows where i am.

The guy you quoted that from is full of **** and is on a "QQ the other factions are so much stronger than mine" crusade. Unfortunately no one can call him out on what he is because the mods will remove the post if anyone does.

But to answer on the topic. Yes attachments effect the weapons performance a whole lot if you mod your weapon correctly.

    Eh, grip feels bad.

Each attachment does a certain % change on each gun. Unfortunately we don't have those numbers. Some of the attachments have a very powerful and noticeable effect, and are excellent choices. Others have a minimal effect, and so aren't quite as good. My advice is to try out your attachments in the VR before you try them, especially laser sights and compensators.

Off topic : I know who he is and I just found it extremely funny when he said that because it makes me wonder if he plays the game.

On topic : Thanks for the feed back everyone because I run with laser sight on everything every since the forward grip nerf on LMG and I was wondering if anyone else notices the difference for SPA or HVA. Thanks again.

That scope that helps you see through smoke is the only attachment that helps but even it is situational. Everything else gives such a low bonus or boost as to be negligible. Some that give a benefit also has a draw back. The top tier "none cheating-aimbot accuracy-360 no scope players" could do the same with stock guns while blindfolded and playing with both hands tied behind their back. My k/d is crap regardless of the weapon or its attachments.

    TLDR: no

I never run with HVA but SPA is acctually very helpful in CQ areas. I run it on every weapon that has it available.
  15. ALTRego

No sir, I do not a significant difference using attachments.
  16. randallt3mpd

This is just not true. They definitely do make a difference for the most part As others have said above the degree of difference varies with attachment and weapon. Foregrip reduces side to side recoil which CANNOT be compensated for no matter how skilled you are. It does however increase the weapon equip time, for anyone who thought it had no downside :).

Again though the degree of difference (very noticeable-barely noticeable) varies.

there's a difference, but it always depends on the weapon used or situation (closerange vs longrange) you're in

for instance: compensators on lmgs for longrange sustained fire are a must, but compensators for midrange carbines really arent that important. same with foregrips or laser sights

then there is player skill and the ability to aim well (in combat/panic situations) and compensate for recoil efficiently. such high-skilled players may not need attachments as much as new players do

therefore, it depends. sometimes, the effect of an attachment isn't as pronounced as one would like it to be
  19. Hatesphere

Heck yeah I notice the difference. Things like grips make it noticeably easier to score hits at range while ADS, and I find soft point ammo works well to extend the damage range on a weapon.

stuff like grips the difference is only really noticeable at longer ranges.
  20. RHINO_Mk.II

Definitely noticeable on most weapons, although to varying degrees. The SAW attachments are vital, for instance, while SMG attachments are nice but not required.
