Do we continue to support developers by continued purchases or do we let our wallets speak....

Hmm. When did they update the rockets? I was TR against NC last night at an outpost outside a Bio-Dome...only about a squad of us with the NC zerg rolling in. Their Lib pilots where flying stupidly at first, so we were able to pull AA rockets and take a few down.

The only one that missed was due to the Reaver pilot dodging behind a hill which the missile then hit...that's a good thing, in my book. The missiles we were hitting the libs with looked like they were hitting and doing damage, but the Lib HP's are so high it's hard to tell sometimes :)

make sure you spend your station cash wiseley, because if you contact customer support about it, they just give you the finger and tell you were to stick it.

    i baught alpha squad £30
    6 months premium £50
    20k station cash £90

Yeeaaah, there are plenty of teams working on it. This isn't a box game. This is an MMO. There are always teams working on art, sound, code, balance, etc.

It's not the launch and done type of game. It'll be "in development" for the entirety of its life.

    lol is is this 2010?

1.Guild wars 2 came out fine, some connectivity issues on day 1, fixed instantly, a few problems remain with WvW draw distance, thats only 1/10 of the game though.

2.Rift had an almost perfect launch

When was the last time you saw such a bad start for a AAA MMO in the past 3 years?

That was still not fixed for longer than 2 weeks?
  5. Forumguy2

Meanwhile at the SOE optimization team....

  6. Shralla

Right. Because if it's not an RPG, it's not an MMO. Only that's not true and you're talking completely out of your backside. Is it multiplayer? Are there a massive number of players? Is it online? Then it's an MMO.

Oh, you mean like how Planetside 1 died years ago, right?

Literally every MMO that you didn't mention.

You wrote 'our' in the question, which includes yourself, which in turn should sway this 'hivemind' some towards that dislike. This of course assumes that your negative opinion will in fact sway others to vote similarly.

PS2 needs some work on most fronts, but it hasn't even been out a month yet. I intend to buy a bit more station cash on the 21st, not a lot mind you, but some, and will likely not buy anymore, 3X sales or otherwise, until some major changes/additions are made to the game. If they come, great. If not, I'm still enjoying myself with what little we've got.
  8. Forumguy2

    Which is? :D
  9. ArcaneGuardian

TOR would like to have a word with you. (1.7 million subs, 1.3 one month later, ~700,000 after 6 months.) I'd say that's a pretty bad launch.

According to some, PS1 never died. Which I guess has a grain of truth. If it never starts, it can't really ever die ;)

There is nothing else like it.

So yeah, I will be voting with my wallent on the 21st for triple SC day.
  11. Admiral Ackbar

Well.. There is no organized anti-SOE team.. Or I don't think.. But, its a personal choice whether you want to buy things or not.. I personally will not be buying anything anyway.. Hope SOE does change though..
  12. Phyr

Maybe we didn't play the same games. Rift was a good launch, not perfect. GW2 was a decent launch, far from perfect. PS2 had a perfectly acceptable launch.
  13. Forumguy2

    1. TOR did what it came to do, told a story, there was no endgame but it played as advertised and had tons of voice acting, i never played it personnaly but most people i hear from say it was an awesome game that just didnt have an endgame, thats not a bad launch, thats a bad meta, learn the vocabulary buddy.

    2. lol PONG never died to some
  14. Dazamin

I doubt I will purchase anything else in this game without some major balance / gameplay changes. Base flipping and Rocket Pods got old fast. Somehow the five days of 25% off overpriced helmets didn't quite change my mind. That sale is like the rest of PS2 right now, hyped up like it was gonna be something good, but lack of decent content ruined it.
  15. ArcaneGuardian

We're going to play definitions, huh? Then PS1's launch went phenomenally. They had to keep opening up servers. How could it possibly have been a bad launch by that metric?
  16. Kracin

OP maybe you don't understand how life works, maybe you don't understand how the game industry works or how a playerbase can help to mold the way a game is and is played.

because this childish notion of "lets boycott giving them any money until they fix the game to cater to a small number of people", doesn't fly.

they HAVE to make money off of this game to keep a certain number of staff working on it, and by getting that money they have a good number of people still able to devote 100% of their work time towards fixing and improving the game. in addition to that, the way you DO get things fixed is you create intelligible, well thought, descriptive and constructive threads on the forums to let other players voice their opinions, and you do it in a way that lays it out so that a developer can read it and not feel like they are being attacked from every angle by disgruntled 12 year olds who refuse to give them moms credit card info anymore.

what would happen if you did get everyone to boycott the games purchases and it just happened to barely scrape by. how long would it take to get a big list of things done that you and others think they want done? you do realize that they probably don't have a team of 20 programmers and developers working on this full time right? their staff includes far more than programmers who do the actual work in changing the code to suit the gameplay you want. there are artists, sound designers, content designers, directors, gameplay coordinators, moderators, leads for each division. hell they even have weapon designers and weapon balancers.

without the needed money, you wouldn't have anyone to do these jobs and the work would be stretched out to be covered by multiple people, resulting in far less quality work and less work done to boot. sure it sounds like a good idea.... you know.... don't pay for something you enjoy until they make it 100% perfect..... but this is the real world, and in the real world, we support the ideas, businesses, and everything else that we like. whether it is 100% perfect, or it still needs work. because in the end, if you decide to play the game and stress the server, and purposely try to deter people from supporting the game so it can grow, change for the better, and get all the kinks worked out so the first year is a success. then you don't belong here, because you are only going to hurt it.

the rest of us are going to go enjoy the game, bugs and all, and then we are going to go write some posts to which others can put constructive words towards so they might be forwarded to the developers and thrown into the idea bin

    sincerely,

    an adult

For the sake of argument, im going to assume you meant PS2

    1. If you have to open up more servers to run the game after launch, that does not make it a good launch. Now they have given themselves extra work to merge them, which is either soon or they keep losing more and more people each day.

    Wallets speak louder than words.
  19. VoidMagic

    TOR = no endgame and 3 arena's... now 5 arena's... heh.. 16 v 16 = year 2012... /huh?wghat?

Impossible to do Pvp with more than 32 people is it... TOR... impossible you say... kk...

    /enjoyPS2!
  20. Esxraptor

    WoT (World of tanks)

been playing this since release Apr 2011... still not fixed ..... in fact it's getting worse for a F2P MMO with a player base size that makes PS2 look like a pin *****

The very reason that this and other threads on this forum make me shake my head with disbelief
