Do we continue to support developers by continued purchases or do we let our wallets speak....

It's so well made that it only uses a single CPU core in the year 2012. Major bases are 8 hexes but the actual base itself, as it is in the game world, uses only a single hex. Infantry are the doormat to tanks, which are doormats to aircraft, and the the toilets to aircraft.

Other than that, and the culling issues, the game is pretty good. But those are major issues that you can't gloss over with your unbiased eye.

If the game never got any better than it is now, I'd still want to play it, and of course it surely will get better. So yeah I'll be picking up some SC on friday. That'll make my total spend on the game £24 which is pretty good for 85 (and counting) hours of fun. Most games can't get near that ratio.

The only problem I'm having is deciding whether to spend $25 or $50 on triple cash day.

Engine is bad (performance, driving physics), balance is bad(RoF vs accuracy, Infantry vs Air), gameplay is bad (Constant zerging).
And as long as you give them money they are under no pressure to change anything.

    i continue the support

I like the game, I enjoy playing, and I spend way too much time playing. Therefore I gladly spend the little money I've spent so far into the game for a game that brings me good entertainment.

I advocate speaking with your wallets however, if you don't like something, don't pay money for it. But understand something. If you do like the game and want to see it improve, but maybe have some dislikes here and there, then pulling out is not going to help. Games require money to continue development, especially one that's going to be constantly changing such as this MMOFPS. This isn't a console game that once pumped out, people paid $60 for it, that it stays that way forever.

the more things they changed based on the forum whining the less likely i am to purchase something that will get a nerfed when i actually use it effectively against the whiners.

that sums up my opinion of the game at launch i was very impressed and dropped $50 on it, well then the "balancing" started and i want my $50 back already so i certainly am going to have a hard time thinking its a good idea to give them more if things keep going that way

Yes, console games are usually finished and optimized when released.
  9. Tuco

    Yeah but it's kinda boring.
  10. Gavyne

Yes and played and beat within a week. So $60, 1 week of fun, you are free to go that route if you have that kind of cash to burn on entertainment. I've only spent $40 on this game, and I've played every single day for the past month.

The question above is an informal fallacy known as a loaded question.

So.... in other words... your OPINION differs from mine, and you're mad? Gotcha. Then don't spend money....easy fix.
  13. NutMeat

I am going to drop a good amount on Friday. Enjoying this game, wish I could play when at work! The best is yet to come!

They have to re-coup development costs + a healthy profit before we see any sort of meaningful changes. That's a big maybe, I think they will milk it for what it's worth and just let it slide. Already doin it now.
  15. omega4

That's the sense I get as well. PS2 probably isn't meeting budget expectations.

I think it's pretty clear we're playing a beta of the game yet. Sony saw people saying the game was very playable in the beta and wanted some xmas money rolling in, it's a business after all. When we have to reinstall in Jan will be telling of the effort placed into the game.

Now I'm all for voting with wallets, but the problem is the game is a F2P model and in order to get more back we have to put money in. Considering it's still early in it's life I have supported them in hopes that others have done the same so they will see there's interest and money to be had in the game. This of course is hoping that SoE isn't like Blizzard who puts far less effort back into the game in contrast to the money they make.

Regardless, I think they'll keep this game rolling for a while, and there's a reason for this. The F2P model is going to hit this coming gen of consoles as well, there's no doubt. This will be on the PS4 as Sony knows they'll be able to tap some extra money for sure. And this is a good thing to be honest with you as many console only gamers will play this and it'll increase the revenue, the populations, and of course ensure a longer and potentially more content/support rich life.

The weakness of F2P forums...... wallets and money

Want to keep your wallet shut ... do so

    Want to spend... do so

I'm happy with the state of the game and the continued patch/bug fixes..... including todays.... so they don't really care.... do they ?

So far out of over 30 replies ... my guess is that your answer is in the minority :)

I've seen this story before...I think it was some game called Planetside, 8 or 9 years ago now.
But yeah I've spent zero dollars because this is just a watered down PS1 aimed at casual fps players.
Nothing especially exciting about it so far.

I am spending some cash on the 3x sale. I am having fun in the game, and that is what matters to me.

Now, I can totally understand why other folks may be quite unhappy with the way it turned out if they were following it a long time or were PS1 vets. I was totally excited about Guild Wars 2, and played GW1, and thought that GW2 would be the last game I would ever buy. After 60+ hours in the betas and 367 hours in game, I was still enjoying it, bugs and all. Then they introduced something that I considered gamebreaking, so I quit and came here. I had no pre conceived ideas about this game, besides what I watched in TotalBiscuit's videos, so it feels like a new experience to me, and there is still a lot for me to learn/acquire/master. It is worth dropping another $40 or so to me.
