Discussion on the current state of the Valkyrie

Noone ever said that the Valkyrie is the most effective vehicle, and it also doesn't need to be. A Flash probably also isn't the most effective vehicle, but it's still a good vehicle. There are so many infantry-only players, anyway, that it really doesn't matter if they run around on the ground or sit in a Valkyrie. Those who do hotdrops from a Valk are mostly just infantry players from my experience. Either this or Valk pilots themselves.

That was just a counter to Demigan saying it was competitive. I did fly one for a few hours last night. Max Scout Radar/Stealth/Evasive/Writhen. It destroys Libs, I feel bad for them. I could chase off bad ESFs but good ones ***** me. I mostly went from small fight to small fight providing scout radar and killing sundies and lone tanks, and infantry here and there. It was alright, but two ESFs could have done the exact same job much better. It's still fun, but it just can't compare. Nanite efficiency is really the only thing I see going for it. But yeah, very fun to fly.

Not really... Sure, they are better at A2A mostly (also take more skill there though), but for ground targets, when you have a decently loaded Valk, you can kill Sundies, everything, in a second. This can be extremely effective.

C4 faeries are already extremely annoying to vehicles by foot, now imagine how annoying they can be concentrated in a Valkyrie...

2 ESFs with Rotarys and Hornets are better against everything, yes more nanites, yes more skill, but they're better. The Hellion is nasty against vehicles, but it still can't out dps 2 ESFs with the combo I mentioned. C4 fairies are OP, and the Valk is a great taxi, we've been over that. That says more about C4 fairies capabilities than the Valk however.

The rumble seats and squad spawn ability are a part of a Valks weaponry. It's why its gun can't be made much better. And doing hotdrops is definitely not "playing taxi".

I never stated anything you posted in this reply... The only time a valk is any good at AA is when its loaded with strikers... Yes I know you need situational awareness, however as someone who uses tanks and has shot down a fair share of valks, not being able to withstand a tank/dalton shell (or two if you're TR) is disastrous for a squad spawning vehicle. Especially when its slower than a liberator.

Do I think that tank rounds should be nerfed into the ground against valks?

Hell no, but a small nerf that makes valks less likely to be out of commision after a single dalton or tank round. 2 should definitely kill the valk still.

I'd make composite armor also effect all forms of damage. That 12% damage resistance vs. everything in a valk would be phenomenal.

All they have to do to fix the Valk in my opinion is make it small arms immune. Then you would see people using it for rooftop landing and for squad logistics. It could get in and out faster than a galaxy and be used for some point control.

The problem currently with it is that everyone and their mother just opens up with small arms whenever they see this flying cert pinata.

Oh, I'm sry, seems like I misunderstood your post. Guess was a bit too late when I wrote this haha.
And yes, Valks can be almost one-shotted by certain weapons, but I find this actually well balanced for an aircraft of this size. It's not as tough as a Galaxy of course, but still a good amount tougher than ESFs. Like I said, you just have to be very careful with Valks, then you also don't get hit. Always fly high enough when you think a tank or engie turret could hit you and you have nothing to hide. It's a vehicle where you actually have to know what you are doing, not like an ESF where you just can fire from a distance and then hit the afterburner.

I totally believe you that you shot down many Valks with your tank already, but that says little about the vehicle. I also already climbed into many Valks and the vast majority of pilots had no idea what they were doing. They just constantly flew right in front of barrels and turrets, so of course they will be an easy target.
