DeSync Issues and work arounds.

I had a very similar issue and this fixed it for me. I do have my processor overclocked btw (well more like speedstep disabled):

Edit: video of gameplay before I fixed it:

I've had this problem since two weeks ago and have temporarily fixed it twice with some help from Support. The first time I turned off SpeedStep in my BIOS, which fixed the problem, for the moment.... When the problem suddenly started up again mid-game a few days later, I contacted Support and they told me to do a clean reboot (going into msconfig and disabling all non-Microsoft services and restarting) which also worked for a few days. As of two days ago, the teleporting/flying players and vehicles started up again as Support is looking into it. I haven't found a specific culprit that's making my temporarily fixes break after a handful of days.

But not to worry, Support's still on it.

hard to say for sure but at least in early returns, this seems to have fixed the issue for me

wonder what those .dlls are controlling

So I have taken a break for the game for around four or five months now. I had other games to play and before I stopped playing the desync issues had annoyed me to the point where I couldn't have fun very often in the game.

I came back today, patched back up, and was having a grand old time for about an hour or so. That's when I realized that the desync issue had returned. Or rather, that after five months, Sony still had yet to identify the culprit and find a solution to it. Looking back at the OP and the thread linked to in the OP, it's been a full year since this problem was originally reported and there's still no sign of a solution from Sony.

So for now I'm cancelling my premium membership and calling it quits on the game for another long while. We'll see if they manage to find a solution six months from now or if there will STILL be people plagued by this issue then.

No game that requires you to tweak your computer this much, just in order to work properly, is worth playing.

I just started encountering desync issues again. First the server started to fail at hit registration. About an hour later desync happened. Everybody was flying around on Cobalt.

I've had this issue since the ESF update on Jan 16th. More people are having the same problem here:

    https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/strange-lag-issue.167959/

I tried all of the suggestions here; they didn't work. Perhaps if everyone starts making tickets and phone calls, something will happen. There's certainly enough people to do so, and there are plenty more who haven't bothered to post on the forums who have the same issue.

Now I got a "Game Error G12" and game crashed.

EU Servers are $hitting bricks, but US Servers seem to have no problem for me. Damn PRO7...

This did fix my issue for a few days but the desync came back on my Waterson and Mattherson characters after a day or so
  12. DukeSylar

I found a thread about the desync affecting many Verizon FIOS users in the New Jersey/New York area. I'm not sure where you guys are all from, but it might be something worth looking at. Anyways, I have two characters on Matherson and Waterson that are both experiencing desync issues, but when I made one on Connery it has been flawless since. Don't know why.

Well until the developers manage to figure out how to make their game playable for me (Without me having to make systemwide changes that could alter the behavior of every other game or program on my computer that is) I'm sorry to say that I've cancelled my premium membership.

It's a shame that this game is so unstable as to be completely unplayable after an hour or so. I'll be sure to share my experiences with everyone I know, Sony, don't worry. And with the ability to make high-quality videos displaying how amazing this game works for me it's easier than ever before to share my wonderful experiences with everyone!

SOE get your sh*t together and fix this bullcr*p. NO other online game does this! Planetside 2 is considered out of beta for whole year goddammit! If I was paid every time this stupid bug made me rage I'd be quite wealthy.
  15. kickasspipes

    Same exact circumstances for me
  16. Xada

The amount of desyncing i've had to play with today is unbearable. I desync every 10 minutes, wtf am i supposed to sony, I am not messing with my computer to fix one problem with one game and potentially creating issues with other games.

How many people having this desync issue use an intel CPU?

I contacted support and they claim I was overclocking my CPU. I've NEVER overclocked a processor in my life (I live in a very hot area and am overly cautious about heat issues). In searching around online and in my BIOS however I came across something that seems like it might be the culprit : Intel's Turboboost function (Which is present on the intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors)

I've had massive desyncing issues on multiple occasions on multiple servers, and so I'm wondering if the intel Turbo Boost function is causing false positives for 'overclocking', and if so, then I wonder if the desync issue could be related to the Turbo Boost feature.

If that's the case, then I wonder whether or not Sony will be doing anything to address this issue. Those are fairly popular processors and if a major feature of the CPU is causing these desyncing issues, it seems to me like it could progressively become a larger and larger problem for them.

Bottom line is this: if you have to resort to BIO tweaking to get a game to work, it's not out of beta, yet. That's basic hardware issues alpha testing is suppose to resolve.

I have this same issue. And it's making the game unplayable. Kind of silly.

I overclock my CPU -- I have a water cooled loop so it would be silly not to. I simply do not feel like running my CPU at stock speeds just to play one game. My OC is not aggressive and it's stable.

I have an intel i5 3570k running at 4.2ghz. It never goes above 55c at full load.
  20. Loki

Just for testing sake, I removed the overclock from my CPU and still experience the exact same issues after about 5 minutes in game. This is insane.
