Time to put on my pilot hat and go galaxy hunting!

Sweeeeeet. Now we just need to fix the problem with the bailures. Thank you Sony!
  3. Fenrisk

They should add a bail delay. Instantly leaving your aircraft isn't all that realistic. Especially since you just drop out the bottom of your aircraft when their isn't even a hatch to drop out from. By all rights you should be opening the door at the top and having to climb out. That would take a good few seconds.

Galaxy's i'm fine with as they are designed for instantly dropping troops. The rest need a delay of 5 seconds or just make it so you can only drop out when your hovering.

why?i buy in my liberator a certification called "system ejection" for in cases of danger i and my allies jump and survive.

i pay 500 certs for my system for survive, why now they need restringed the use for much users request?

To the people complaining about this, keep in mind that this is obviously a stopgap measure. Detailed changes to vehicle mechanics or experience granting could very easily break the game if not thoroughly tested. Disabling deconstructs is crude, but it will do for now while they work on a more permanent solution (and test it to make sure it won't break the game).

To those trying to defend deconning/suiciding as a legitimate tactic... I have nothing to say. You're pretty clearly just trolling at this point, and I think the community as a whole is better off ignoring you.
  6. Fenrisk

Im only talking about 0 cert drops aka suicide drops.
  7. axiom537

If you couldn't kill the vehicle, before the owner deconstructed, then you are the one that failed...

What a waste of time and resources over something so trivial. I've been playing this game for well over 8 months now. I can't think of a single time someone was able to deconstruct a vehicle before I was able to kill it and even if they did big deal...

Deconstruct is almost instant. Infantry don't have shotgun rockets that instant gib tanks and aircraft. Taking out a tank with rockets takes far longer then click/decon.

The only fail here is the ragequitters were allowed to throw their toys out the pram for 3 months every time they lost.

I'll just make sure to use a light assault when in an aircraft, and if they continue to try to hunt I'll just log out and log back in instantly.

Rustler - "I log out as infantry...I dont use vehicles."

The issue here is not logging off. It's him replying to a thread about vehicle deconstruction and him never using vehicles. Why did nobody catch this.

Deconstruct requires you to open a window, select deconstruct and then it takes a couple secs. Not that I really care, I think this is a pathetically small issue and anyone complaining about it is probably equally pathetic. I've been playing this game for over 8 months and killed thousands of vehicles and I can't think of a single time this happened to me, let alone multiple times in session..."ragequitters were allowed to have their toy for 3 months" What in the hell are you talking about?

I'm with you, in that I have never seen a single instance of this happen. It obviously must occur, or else people wouldn't be here crying (and now cheering), I'm just a little displeased with the decision to remove a feature completely because it isn't working as "intended". According to Higby, it appears that tank mines aren't working as "intended", so why not just remove tank mines completely until such time that they are working?

Minor gripe, apples and oranges, griefing, abuse, whatever. I'm obviously in the minority. I just think it reflects poorly on the development team to implement half solutions (remove features) and claim it is a "stop gap" to prevent abuse, when this "abuse" has been a feature of the game since we have been allowed to play. If it wasn't intended to be this way, and removal is an easy "solution" until such time as a better feature can be implemented, why was it A) in the game in the first place, and B) allowed to remain for so long.

Obviously they can't think of everything, and they are busy with a myriad of other issues, but just doesn't add up to me.

So when I pull out an ATV instead of a Sunderer from a console, now I can't deconstruct it until driving it out of the way, then go back and get one...

This punishes legitimate uses to reward players who care too much for XP/Certs.

So much for stealth invasions to bases.. can't get rid of that ATV or tank or w/e.. that deconstruct was being used for LEGITIMATE REASONS.

Once again, SOE listening to whining game players who just can't accept that they couldn't finish off the enemy vehicle fast enough.

Indeed, and the few that do, I didn't care. My aim was to eliminate their vehicle (especially if AMS or scout vehicle for enemy). Not once did I think (oh there goes my XP, wahhh).. it was "good ahahahah! Mission accomplished!!! And they think I cared about XP, and just removed their only AMS point!! AHAHAHAH"

LOL some of you guys whine no matter what changes are made or not made. You can't have it both ways. So stop yer b*tching and wait to see the final change. Again this is a stop gap to appease the masses with a future update coming to fix it completely.
  16. smokemaker

Took them fricken long enough. I guess they had to study the problem in detail, over and over and over, then pass it to congress to debate.
  17. GSZenith

So what are we gonna cry about and get nerfed next? av turret or PAS? (forget ever getting nc max fixed)
  18. RageMasterUK

I vote we cry about lack of ADS sensitivity slider. This is supposed to be an FPS right? I thought they had those as part of the genre...
  19. Gavyne

Big props SOE, removing decon right now stops those abusing it. They're working on a timer countdown later so we know it's coming back, but with some sort of safety net to avoid exploits. Very good stuff.

Of course I knew once more people experience it and start complaining about it, then the devs would start noticing it. Sure enough, they noticed it and made the tweaks right away. Now they just need to put a small 5 second countdown to exiting the game, and prevent exit if someone's in active combat.

It sure is funny seeing clearly who has been abusing this mechanic though.

I really can't think of a single time someone was able to deconstruct their aircraft before I killed them.

Bailing out has happened, suicides have happened, but I find it to be amazing that so many people have rallied together on this witch hunt against deconstructers, a problem which effects us all equally, and isn't very common at all.

Deconstructing has happened to me several times against ground vehicles, but not a single time in my hundreds of hours played has it happened against an aircraft and if it did, I probably would have blamed the issue on the game's terrible rendering capabilities, assuming the aircraft had just vanished on me.

I find it to be extremely likely that a lot of "deconstructs" are vehicles failing to render properly, convincing the "victim" that their opponent was "exploiting" deconstruct. I wish they'd work harder on fixing rendering and other *REAL* problems with the game, rather than wasting time holding the hands of forum babies.
