DECONSTRUCT DOWN! - Higby Tweets!

They can still jump out and suicide, which is afaik what most people do. 9/10 "chicken´s" don´t decon, but simply bail. More happy with the fact that the assist EXP is getting adjusted aswell now. Not even decon is as frustrating as doing 90%+ DMG to something, and then get the kill taken by someone else, you get 100EXP for your assist, he cashes in several 1000EXP for doing nothing.

Glad they got rid of it. It got abused more than it got used.

I have a new take on the suicide XP denial.... Flip it the other way...

Penalise players for suicides. Discourage this practice in all forms. I'm thinking -200xp for each suicide over BR10.
-Would without a doubt stop combat-crashing and 300ft bailing.
-Would encourage players to give a **** about their own survival. Good for the game generally.
-Would discourage suicide based approaches to getting kills (which are cheap - you get XP but don't give any back) Suicude sundy minebombing would still be possible, you would just have to guarantee you get more than 200 XP to make it worth your while.
  3. RageMasterUK

Supposed to say minus 200 XP btw

To fire a lock-on rocket or operate a flak turret, it requires playing with exactly one hand clicking one button while sitting stationary, aiming at targets starkly silhouetted against a bright sky. That is as easy as it gets.

If you can fly an ESF like that, then you can call piloting easy points. Except for the part where ESFs require resources to pull and turrets and launchers don't, while also requiring much more certs to reach their maximum effectiveness. And except for the fact there's no cover in the sky.

Finally all this ESF had a hard time killing ground vehicles and got barely any xp.
Guess my gunner has to be light assault now ... blow it up with C4 before the ESF is back!!!
  6. SolLeks

    lol, your just bad....

the AH's effective range is not that long, 20 meters tops. the vortex is a MUCH better weapon, more dps, faster reload, about the same TTK in a fight.
  7. rickampf

Awesome! i'm sick of this griefer pilots.
  8. RageMasterUK

Citizen H you know what else is easy? Flying to avoid said one handed player. Seems for all your skilled ESF tekkerz, you can't set a waypoint on the crown and avoid it. You said it yourself. You decon as the fastest traveling most agile vehicle, to skill less one handed players. Who are stationary. Who can't move.

The L2P issue appears to be yours.

and yet only handful of pilot using it why ?
  10. Nintyuk

I find my flash likes to jam it's self in stupid spots like under stairs were it can't move after driving at top speed under fire in to bases. Sometimes I can get out using the new back seat but more than not my only escape is to deconstruct.

Also the changes to vehicle de-spawns when you get another are not new but are annoying to this style of game. I've snagged a few abandoned default sundys that Low level BRs have spawned not realizing it needs AMS to deploy and then left the base on a flash.
  11. SDD

Yeah, as an ESF you have'd to hold down W (or S! You have to change keys sometimes! It sure is a lot to remember!) and Space in order to shoot at all those dark ground targets on the white fields of Indar.
Do you know how hard that is? That's harder than... uhh... an infantry... jumping onto a box... because the infantry can't crash! Yeah. That's right. All skill.
  12. rickampf

But, I used desconstruc when no longer needed the vehicle. And now, what do i do? Just abandon the thing in the field?
  13. Phazaar

No fix for bailing/ramming into the ground, and removing deconstruct ***** a large part of my playstyle (stealth). Going to have to waste so much C4 now, not to mention rack up needless grief points. Complete idiocy. Every intelligent member of the community has already said it; just award the kill when the vehicle gets deconstructed. Absolutely no reason not to. Everyone benefits equally, and a few extra XP here and there is no huge tragedy, since people will stop deconstructing in most situations anyway as there's no 'HA I STOLE DA EX PEE.'

    Pathetic, Higby, just pathetic.

    Great change Devs.
    I love u a little again
  15. RageMasterUK

Phazaar, dont be upset mate. They will more than likely bring decon back with the XP fix you are mentioning.
This is a temporary solution which is easy to implement. Higby is not pathetic for taking this attitude.

Sharing XP, or programming what is necessary to push XP towards the last attacking player is going to take time, as there's nothing in the game that supports the addition of that code. The game is going to need programming to track some more player interactions to provide that solution. Granted it should have been forseen and implemented much earlier.

But the removal of decon is stress free and provides an instant fix for a very frustrating exploit at this stage.
  16. Fenrisk

All i see is a bunch of griefers crying and making excuses because their favourite rage quit tool got taken away.

Deconstruct isn't needed for anything in this game. It's only purpose was to grief. Now they just need to add a 30 second log out timer and a experience penalty for more then 1 suicide in a row and we are golden.

Now the children can't throw their game of monopoly off the table in a fit of rage every time they lose. ;)

    old mc hater had a farm e i e i ooooooooo
  18. Ghosty11

Hit the Del key and redeploy, or type /suicide.
  19. Nintyuk

Not Entirely true but yes It's Legitimate uses were under observed to the masses of people abusing it.
  20. Ghosty11

The log out timer should take no more than 10 seconds since you can just redeploy in that same time span.
