Ok, now how about no progressing the base capture if there is 0 people on point? Surely that is a greater issue than this?
  2. Lewk

    redeploy.
  3. Lewk

over 28 days of in game time (almost 700 hours) i have never been stuck in a vehicle with all exits blocked. Just last night i had over 10 deconstructs happen against me in combat while attacking enemies.

Yes, they need to put deconstruct back into the game with proper rules for combat, but the benefits of removing it altogether FAR outweight the super slight/off chance of gettings tuck and having no exits, in which case you can just redeploy.

    Uhh, completely remove?
I just don't want that Flash I used to get here to get in the way of the rest of our troops.. but okay, this will at least mean more XP on the battlefield. And no more deconstructs in the air!
  5. maxkeiser

Really not an issue anyway? Who cares.

You seem to like that idiom a lot. Anyway, why are you overthinking what I'm saying? Did I imply anywhere that the devs were/should be done? I'm well aware that removal of deconstruction will just be a temporary fix. I support deconstruction being in the game because players will get stuck, the terrain isn't perfect, etc. I'm simply suggesting that the devs could later go further by adjusting the exp system to reward the ones that contribute the most in damage against a player. A suggestion is just a suggestion, unsolidified ideas out of many possible ones. Don't think you know what's in my mind just because of a few sentences I type. Assumptions can ruin your argument.
Go ahead and quote where I said deconstruction should be "locked out."

On to the point, ignore my previous idea. All you really would need is to disallow deconstruction if the vehicle has taken damage within the past X seconds. However, suicides granting the exp would still work, because you're most likely only going to get suicides from pilots in the red anyway, or someone trying to ram. There, no exp denied while solving everything else, with the future "deconstruction refunding resources" system working well in play.

    Really? Name one... we're waiting.
  8. Zapon

WOWP, Warhawk, Tribes Ascend , i'd saw SWBF2 but my memory is sketchy of that one..
I was actually referring to more than your post- i did only quote yours, admittedly...
  9. Boomotang

Please reread my posts and see if I ever suggested any log out restrictions. All I did was say that it's rude for people to do these things. Please don't say that you "foresaw" me suggesting it... Because of the reasons that you've brought up SOE can't fix everything (force quitting the application), and some of it is up to people changing their behaviour.
  10. StrikerKOJ

Classic SOE. Remove features now, consider adjustment later.

It would just be so much work to do them both at the same time...
  11. -Zlodey-

Hm, this means more experience for me. Good.
  12. GSZenith

time to logout/crash into stuff :D
  13. Andy79

they should add bonus exp if something you attacked suicides, "enemy suicide +500 EXP"

So they fix the experience hand-outs called vehicles so even more people gun for them (and buy the shiny new rocket launchers), but they still haven't fixed vehicle "rocking" and horrificly messed up recoil so vehicles can actually fight back properly, since GU5?

I don't mind deconstructing being removed, as I fully understand the problem, but on the other hand I always like to leave a clean path behind me, and usually deconstruct Flashes when I reach my destination.
  15. Nakor

Deconstruct is a useful feature and removing it isn't a good way to address this issue. Temporary removal for a week or so is ok, but I'm concerned that this will end up on the back-burner and we won't be able to decon for a month or more. The fact that they've been ignoring or avoiding dealing with this obvious and game play destroying issue for months doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
  16. Aedelric

Did my idea offend you somehow? What is with all the insults? It was a simple effective approach to solve the problem. Additionally if you suicide bail the enemy does deserve the kill as that is another form of griefing people are using. Bailing with a parachute or light assault is a legitimate tactic though.
  17. WaRadius

I hope they change the way auto-deconstruction work. Only vehicles with no owner should have auto-deconstruction timer.
  18. yoobski

this is just going to distract people from playing the game by giving them certs for blowing up vehicles left behind by the enemy. bravo.

The issue is that deconstructing was the only way for players to discourage people sitting at the Crown/on a remote mountain top or loitering in free AA and trying to farm easy points with no risk and little skill involved.

Because once they start that, and are rewarded for it, that's ALL they do. They don't capture or defend bases. They don't go out and hunt for kills. They sit there all day on an ammo box or free base turret, and spam at the sky with impunity.

And why should they be rewarded for that? Why should a pilot flying back to repair from a legitimate dog fight, give up a free kill and a ton of points to some skilless little **** hiding on a hill with a lock on launcher? It's cheap, it cheapens the game and it rewards players for not playing the game as it was intended.

At worst, destructing denied cheesing playing from getting easy points. Removing that just encourages them to cheese more and encourages more people to cheese. By taking away this form of passive discouragement, you may very well lead to people taking more active forms of discouragement, IE, creating disposable accounts to discourage the sky spammers by TKing them in the back.

Deconstruction of vehicles was merely a symptom of another problem: people feeling justifiably cheated that their 4000+ cert aircraft with dozens of hours put into it that costs them resources to pull was destroyed by some BR5 playing one-handed with a 1000 cert weapon that costs no resources and requires no skill to operate and the BR5 being rewarded handsomely for doing so.
  20. SDD

Yeah, only ESFs are allowed to have easy points. How dare they get points for killing someone as skilled as an ESF pilot.

ESF pilots are the most skilled. Those AA, they can only fight the air. Pfft. How weak.
ESF pilots, well they fight the air, and then they also fight the ground from the air too. 150% Skillz.
